Dear Yaseen, Certainly its an honor to be burried next to the Holy Prophet. However, that doesn't mean I can sin and be burried next to the Holy Prophet and get away with it. Just because they where rulers and they forcefully got themselves burried next to the Holy Prophet doesn't mean they are any good!
My brother, go read the narrations in Sahih Bukhair and Sahih Muslim, Sunan ibn Dawood and Sunan al Hanbali about something called the narration of "Saqifa" in which abu-bakr and Omar where fighting and arguing over who will take the Leadership of Islam based on their own erroneous opinion with out permission from the Holy Prophet nor Allah.
Go read about what they did when the prophet was lying in his bed.
Same as aghati said, but let me add this. If it was such a big honour to be buried next to the Prophet why was, Hasan and Fatimah the daughter and grandson of the Prophet denied to be buried next to him?

1. We pray, but that doesn't mean Praying is the ONLY thing we do!
2. Also, by doing this, We are following the Holy Verse in the Qoran that says:
و من يعظم شعائر الله فان ذلك من تقوى القلوب
Which translates to: and Those who greatify the Traditions of God, certainly this is strong piety to the Hearts.
remembering Imam Hussain's Tradgedy (as well as all the Islamic Tradgedies and events) strengths the hearts and increases the piety of the Believers.
