Just a monster monster band that never hit stardom. Because I suspect they were so far fucking ahead of there time might as well have been on a starship. Unreal rocking. I'm a drummer in sheer awe of Bobby. Thanks for the post man.
Killer band. Too bad they weren't bigger. Great songs, and riffs. This one is a great riff in unusual 5/4 time. Awesome musicians. I played the crap out of this album.
Bobby Caldwell was an awesome drummer. I was never really convinced with Rods voice for rock music. He had super smooth delivery but somehow too clean!
Iron Butterfly/Captain Beyond guitarist Larry Reinhardt has died at age 63.
According to Reinhardt's girlfriend, the guitarist was taken off life support in accordance with his living will. Reinhardt had been dealing with complications from sclerosis of the liver.
His girlfriend added: "He had a love for music, and when he couldn’t play guitar he was depressed. His love of music was everything." RIP
it was summer 1977 me & my buddies were on a road trip we stoped at a greasie spoon truck stop for vitals & munchies when looking in some budget 8track tapes I found this mixed in a bunch of hank williams ernest tub patsy cline tapes so I buy this tape we hit the road put the tape in the ole kraco 8 track cruising down the hywy smoke rolling out the windows we was flying bout 100 mph jammin feelin good looked at the speedo realized we were only doin bout 45 mph what a blast in love ever since :)

A great band! Almost a "supergroup". Should have been a whole lot bigger...

Saw Larry Reinhardt on the Iron Butterfly 1971 tour, but never got to see Captain Beyond. Should've been bigger, but great to hear this.
