Don't you just love how Paul and David misinterpret Jay's words? Jay NEVER said he was going to retire from network TV. He said his contract would expire in 2009 and that he'd be handing the reins over to Conan. Network execs knew many would want Jay to still have a show on NBC, and that is why he was allowed a show on primetime. David Letterman is being his usual jackass self all because he couldn't get his way to take over the Tonight Show when Carson retired in 1992.
