It Rules Mika!! The Mixolydian makes me feel happy and like party-mood, the band was excelent, you were perfect, maybe what the other guys didn't liked was the keyboardist, maybe the patch he used sound a little antique, but it's amazing, indeed, i have your tab and there's not only Mixolydian, it has rest passages, EXCELENT MIKA!!

It's pretty hard to be inventive for 7 minutes in Mixolydian.

Well, about that you're right, it becomes pretty repetitive towards the end and that's why I'm happy that the album version lasts only a five and a half minutes. :)

But yeah, a little bit more variation on this version could have been a good thing. Maybe it sounds a bit more boring watched from our home screens too... you know, live performances always have their own touch too. ;)

Critique is always welcome. Personally I don't see a problem in spending a a whole song in a certain mode. There are already so much all the minor aeolian music out there. I usually end up with Mixolydian when I try to make something in Major. That dominant seven is in my ear and heart. But perhaps there could be more modulating here, especially in this extended live version.

It's mostly in C# mixolydian, and it doesn't have much chord changes. This probably makes you get bored? The verses and the second solo are in C# dorian (the minor 3rd). Modulations you can hear when we enter the "chorus" parts. Chorus is based on the mode changes between A lydian and F# mixolydian modes.
