Actually shotguns have an array of ranges depending upon the type of shot. Birdshot can travel very far but does limited damage due to the shot spreading larger the greater the distance, ergo minimal damage over long distance. Buckshot is usually a solid slug and can do ridiculous amounts of damage and gets significantly longer range. You can kill someone with a shotgun from a decent distance, not like in CoD or Halo where you need to be 5ft away. Educate yourselves on shotguns.
