  • its actually pretty noisy :(

  • *bangs on table - complains it's easy to bend*

  • U are not a rough type of mousepad????? u need smooth.........LOL...(ALUMINUM IS ROUGH AND OF COURSE ITS LOUD)

  • porno in the lower right side of the screen

    oh shit

  • Does the aluminum wear down?

  • @oLACHESISo Not with good teflon feet.

  • I was am skeptical when I read "aluminum" whats with all these mouse pads being made of metal now, is that the new rage?

Also whats the surface look like? I would figure there would be tons of swirls and hairline scratches on it after some use.

I would only buy a aluminum mouse pad just because the QCK+ I use collects lots of lint, which is stuffing all the nooks and cranny's of my mouse full with fibers.

Thanks to your review I think I will go with good ol' plastic.

  • Try cleaning your mouse before complaining about 'noise' :/

  • @Shrpshtr951 The teflon feet on my mouse are always spotless, I make sure of that. You can hear the difference in noise levels when I compare the two pads..

  • @NA8Clubman Maybe your Australian accent is too much

  • Comment removed

  • @NA8Clubman Apparently you didn't.

  • ofc it`s loud LOL, it`s aluminium !! jeez

  • you're supposed to either wash the silicon off of the mat or apply more with the included cloth, it makes the SX a lot smoother

  • And plastic is cheap , instead aluminium that is more expensive.

  • Aluminium has a problem , it is expensive. Everything in aluminium is expensive. I mean , the manufacture of it is expensive because it requires extremely precision machines , instead the new hitech molds that are expensive but makes 4/5 pads in the time a aluminium pad takes . A plastic pad just needs to be melted , placed in the mold , cut the edges and it is ready. In aluminium they need to cut it , clean it , give it the texture , clean again , treat it and then paint it or polish it .

  • If you use the mouse skates that came with the SX, and that "cleaning cloth" is actually soaked with lubricating oil. My mouse slides like its on an air hockey table. Ive had this mouse pad for 3 years now, and im about to buy another one. But anyone who uses a wireless mouse for gaming, won't see the beauty in real quality/performance.

  • @NA8Clubman destructor or SX you prefer?

  • @x0fiz Destructor!

  • @NA8Clubman why ? i mean, i got mamba and destructor, 1 week using my destructor got scratched because of mamba, poor quality pad or what ?

  • i like mine worth the money

  • Steelseries 9HD for glide and precision

  • @MadCrokodile1 i got the 4hd, its the same surface right? just smaller? I am very happy with it.

  • @darrellgonzales yep i have 4hd too, it's just too small for me and i decided to try a cloth mousepad so i bought qck+ and it's in my opinion better than plastic mousepad - exept the glide is not as good

  • get the alugraphics gamer pro xxl mousepad. that is my first mousepad that is really no crap. it costs a lot, but you have warranty on the surface for 10 years

it's light it's smooth, because the surface is very hard and flat.

check it out and stay healthy

  • erm

  • buy razer scarab and make a review ! ;d

  • the bad thing i'm reading in many reviews about the razer destructor is that people are saying it will wear off after 6 months, so if you have $40 to spend on a mousepad every 4-6 months, then its good. but other than that you should stick with a cheaper mousepad.

  • @BetterDayz19 i've had my destructor for about a year and a half and i use it rather heavily, and for long durations at a time, and have done so since i've gotten it. It's surface is almost exactly the same as when i purchased it. There's very little visable signs of wear and the glide it has is still remarkable.

  • I'm curious as to your opinion of prolonged use of the SX vs the Destructor. I have both and primarily use a Razer Mamba mouse on them but occassionally i use my Lachesis or my dad's Logitech G500. I can say that I still prefer the Destructor for my gaming style. It has such a terrific glide that's not out of control. If you keep the SX clean and polish your mouse's Teflon feet regularly (almost daily) then the SX can be quite pleasant, but my high-sens style just shines on the destructor.

  • it's heavy cause it's aluminum :)

  • steelseries sp is really better . Better glide and not so cold on the wrist . ( cheaper also )

  • I just got the steelseries SX and at first I found it very noisy, and as you said, your mouse doesnt glide over it as easy as the destructor, which i also got. Then i got a bit annoyed and figured, hey might as well just try everything. So i put the teflon pads on that come with it, and it reduced the noise significantly, and it glides alot easier as well. I also think that if you use the cleaning pads on your mat and then wipe your teflon pads under your mouse, it will be alot smoother.

  • Thanks for the review. I was considering buying this, but I am surprised and dismayed by the friction. I'm baffled by this, I would have thought aluminium would be a pretty slick surface. Oh well, guess I'll get the 4/9HD instead.

  • What do you recommend?

  • is better that steelseries SX than razer destructor?

  • Biggest problem I found with this mousepad is consistancy. As the silicon toplayer runs out the mousepad gets a different friction day after day. The cloth tissue is meant to polish and refresh the silicon but every time you use it, the mousepad feels different. Imo consistancy is even more important as the glide. So totally not worth the money.
