  • is this from the 1994 disc? love it!

  • AWESOME!!! XD

  • :'-( RIP Haec.

  • thanks for posting. what gifts they have.

  • oh my God.. 2 minutes of complete ecstasy.. I'm going to sing it with my little choir... fantastic! thank you, king's singers

  • oh my God.. 2 minutes of complete ecstasy..

  • sounds like Come Lets Rejoice!

  • We love the King's Singers. Tremendous phrasing and musicality, and beautiful voices. We just performed this piece, and leaned heavily on this recording hear all 6 parts clearly. It really is a fantastic piece.

  • After hearing several renditions of this work on youtube, this one stands out for its clarity brought forth by the superb blend and quality of voices. So many recordings of this motet on youtube are of large groups having far too many voices to a part. I personally find 1 voice per part to be ideal and 3 to be the maximum to allow for the quality of music making that makes early music truly shine.

  • aiyah... some parts ( like tenor 1) are missing... this makes the song incomplete :(

  • @zippyninny - so this originally a 7 or more part motet?

  • We're singing this for our concert this semester =P

I've had this exact copy on my iPod for years so it's really fun to actually have the music for it now haha.

  • Such a perfect example of early music: and an even better example of why it should NEVER be sung more than four or five to a part...

  • I kinda wish our choir would sing this with the same intensity-its very light and not at all heavy

  • the overtones were incredible...I love this song!

  • Renaissance - what a great era of beautiful music and superb compositors, like Byrd

  • Wow. That's some serious falsetto.

  • omg i have been looking for this song for so long!!! thank you soooo much for posting

  • Something I noticed on other versions is their emphasis on the last note of this piece. I loved it! I'm sure that is product of their own arrangement but I was thrilled to hear it.

    Bless the King's Singers

  • were singing this in my choir! it's freakin hard to learn but i feel so accomplished now that i memorized it hahah.

    really awesome song :D

  • Stunning! What perfection of diction, breath support and timing! Stupendous!

  • bealtifull

  • Psalm 118:24

Haec dies quam fecit Dominus: exultemus et laetemur in ea, alleluya.

This is the day which the Lord hath made: let us be glad and rejoice therein. Alleluia.

  • this is one of my favorite pieces by byrd. it's a tie between this and Sing Joyfully.

  • You are most welcome.

  • Thanks, I changed it:)

  • And the title is "Haec dies", Psalm 118:24.

  • This motet is not by Arcadelt - it is by William Byrd, from his Cantiones Sacrae of 1591.

  • They were really good! I love harmonies!
