  • best grade 6 piece at the moment

  • @alexmoses7 true dat

  • How quickly could I learn this? I originally chose C2 because I didn't like C3 and my hands are too small for C1 but I absolutely hate C2 - it's too difficult for what it is, it's musically boring and doesn't go anywhere. I'm thinking of trying to learn this one.

  • Hey! I have that same keyboard! Good choice!

  • how can i get the pdf file? can u email me? sally_cassandra@yahoo.com thx be4..

  • Wow! That is brilliant! I've been learning this for a week and its good to hear what it actually should sound like! I wish I can eventually get the same tempo and same touch as you do!!

  • i like ;)

  • Why did you stop posting videos???

Could you review Neil Olmstead book please...

    Thanks. Nice playing

  • this is great. I just got the book and I'm gonna steal so much from it...

  • THANK YOUUU sooo much for loading this. ive been trying to find a really good recording of this for sooo long. i finally know what it sounds like haha greatt jobb :)

  • @MreThnJstWrds I know! They're all super static-y but this is absolutely amazing :)

  • best Version on Youtube.

  • I first saw this piece when my teacher told me to sight read some of it back in Grade 7 in the spring...now I learned to play it, too!

  • @panzersRULE

    and on the internet ;)

  • very good, except for some tempo flaws

  • @jhbdfbksdhgfjldsnglg i agree 100%

  • A great piece well played. I've got them somewhere, must dig them out. 5***** and favourite to remind me do go search for them!

    Mike

  • It's 16th notes, not triplets. That's why bar 17, 19, 21 are too long in your version.

The last tone is much longer in the original which I like better (8th plus half note).

But never mind - keep going, nice job!

  • very well done! watch out for those 16th note runs, you're playing them as triplets. still, definetely great feel...

  • i'm pretty sure they are triplets :o

  • very well done, i've played excercise 3 as well, but added my own little spin....check it out!

  • ABRSM has a highest of Grade 8

  • this is just really good, i definitely have to learn this song :)

  • hi, nice played. Did you change some notes? I`m trying to play this piece, and it seems to me that you`ve changed it a bit (for example the ending).

  • It is swing at the end, so it sounds a bit awkward. (and a tad bit tricky!)

  • isn't this no. 6?

    wel played

  • really nice melodies :)

  • Did you get this from a book....was it jazz for the young pianist?...please reply!!

  • Yes, the book name is "Jazz Exercises and Pieces". It looks like there are 2 books written by Oscar Peterson sharing the same or similar title.

  • It is also in "Royal Conservatory of Music, Frederick Harris Music: Piano Repertoire 8 (Grade 8 Piano) Celebration Series Perspectives"

  • What is the highest grade ? 10?

  • i am taking RCM and this piece is for grade 8

  • the highest one is 11

  • no the highest is 10, then the ARCT, i think.. the teacher ones.

  • grade 8 ^^

  • @eViL1686

    Grade 6! (:

  • @labilewolfberry

you take part in abrsm grade 6 ?

me too,i just want to decide which song will be better,C:1 OR C:6!

    i love this piece a lot~~~

  • @12rico21 if you enjoy this type of jazz piano then DEFINITELY go for it!!!!

There are very few chances i have found to play something so different and enjoyable compared to everything else in the syllabus, and even though the other pieces are very good, i must urge you to choose this :)

Just remember that you MUST love and enjoy what you play otherwise there is no point in playing it at all no matter what grade it is ;)

  • @ZZtop667 i absolutely love jazz music, i agree what you've said, this jazz music is so different and enjoyable, after your recommandation,i think i will choose this more than C:1,just thx a lot!!!

  • @12rico21

Aaaah I have practised this piece 1000x times and I still can't get it right!! Apparently it sounds all right, but I want it to sound great! It's the ending and the bit where it goes up in the middle. Lol, I don't sound like a pianist :) Which other pieces are you doing? I'm doing The Witch and the Cimarosa.

  • @12rico21 i am doing this one >_<

  • @johnrocks2hell u can get it on amazon~

  • @johnrocks2hell you can buy it from musicroom: Oscar Peterson: Jazz Exercises, Minuets, Etudes And Pieces For Piano - 2nd Edition :)

  • awesome

  • Ich liebe Piano
