I love C.O.B., they are one of my favorite melodic death metal bands and alexi got me into shred. I really like his stuff but he doesn't compare. Alexi can write good neo-classical lines but his shred is just ok.

Jari not only can write amazing neo-classical, he can also shred like a beast and write good melodies, it's like comparing friendman to hammett, both are good metal guitarists but friedman wins every time

this guy is good but i think alexi is way better. jari uses to much sweeps in his solos and theres barely any breaks or long bends, only super fast shredding. it might be skill but it gets tiering and boring after a while. alexi laiho uses more technicues including sweep and his solos are always fun listening to, not only constantly super fast sweeping or shredding...

Meh Alexi has his moments, his only really awesome one being on Kissing the Shadows. He may HAVE been a ways faster than Jari back in the day, but that was very very short lived, Jari is what now, 32? And still improving! Alexi used to be some unreal freak of nature on guitar, now he just has the potential to go back to that...He's to worried about other aspects of music to care. At their best it's Alexi pretty quickly, but still Jari stomped him overall, nowadays Jari eats him alive!
