the best way to say this is that COB have never put out a bad album only different albums.....the band has been developing there own signature sound, If nothing else they have accomplished an important goal which is that if i was to hear one of their songs on the radio, i would known without a doubt it was them; they have there own signature sound, they are trully their own sound and own band, they arent copying any body and they still make badass music. For example pantera - a new level and sixpounder, sound pretty much similar.And the style alxei plays is from chuck (deaths passed singer), the same way how to sing on the riffs. But chuck created death metal. but sure everyone impresses each others and copy each others, always. u must live alone in island and never hear anyone others music to be without copying it.

Also he has a totally different way of achieving his signature sound, which by the way sounds very different from the BFMV guitar sound. Cob started using jackson and other main metal equipment, however they signed to esp and now Alexis Esp Ltd 600 signature is of his own custom making, along with roope and henkka. also bfmv and cob completely differ in sound. one there is an instrument that cob has that bfmv doesnt use. also different genre of metal. bfmv more heavy metal and cob is melo death metal. bfmv has a very distinct metal that Iron maiden and many other european metal bands use. however cob is thier own style of music.

I do enjoy their newer sound, but I understand that the band staged a mutiny because Alexi was creating all the music. Now they all have creative input, which does create a different sound.

Honestly, unless you can play either guitar or drums, you cannot judge the quality of CoB's new album. There are so many things a guitarist/Musician hears that most others don't. Although this isn't as good as my Fav. album(hatebreeder) of all time, It has it's good points. It is a HELL of a lot better than their last release. I do confess that I didn't like this particular song at first, but the whole album grew on me eventually. Quit talking about Bodom's downfall. Srsly.

I feel that on Blooddrunk had a great showing of how Alexi and Roope harmonized with Lanne's keyboard playing(sorry if I misspelled any names) I also love the hidden track where the band plays (Ghost) Riders In The Sky..At first having heard CoB for a few years before Blooddrunk I personally didn't like much about it...But the guitar and drums are amazing in my opinion and I feel that the bass was like a well need teiir to keep the songs standing...

If you were replying to me, I assure you I'm not a fanboy. I don't blindly worship this band as some douchebags would worship kerry king or kirk hammet. It's a difference in perspectives that can make a band seem amazing for some, but horrible to another. I can listen to a song with the ears of a musician/sound engineer and find little things that I like in a song that others would not pick up on as well as understand what it is. An average listener would hear this much differently than I would.
