  • no doubt this artist is just sheer brilliance, just a shame his lyrics are morbid, I couldn't listen to this to much cause its too dark, yet I want to for his musical talent :(

  • @EaszAz Listen to other of Foo Fighter songs. Dave Grohl is not morbid at all, just this specific song

  • @scarlsoninc and razor :/ but again that brilliant too

  • Foo Fighters are amazing! Its my religion!

  • I don't think that i could ever live without Foo Fighters music... This is my strenght. Thank You Foo Fighters.

  • Erie song, since I know its about suicide, if you didn't get that from the lyrics... Dave saw a kid jump in front of a train when he was 10.

  • my fave foo album by far

  • How can anyone deslike this song?!

It is so wonderful... can't help myself, just keep pressing the repeat botton all the time. Thank you Foo Fighters... your music is simply delightful!

  • All dislikers have no taste in music.

  • @RoyWriter asshole.

  • Hear forever underneath the dirt!

  • Love this song!

  • beautiful song. just close your eyes while you listen to it and you'll float.

  • these lyrics are so beautiful:)

  • This song = orgasm slowed down 100x.

  • I just realized this song is about getting hit by a train

  • Hello, we are an acoustic duo which are very much inspired by this album of the foo fighters all of them infact, however, this album the most, because we love to play acoustic music please check us out on our channel and subscribe if you like us :)

  • i like to smoke pot while listining to this song.

  • @Flatulence247 i meant thumbs up my bad man!!

  • @MyMatthew1980 I agree with you. It is a great album. The second disc is very mellow and kind of relaxing to listen to.

  • great cd

    i like this song

i lke it when he says

    (Always was a lucky one)

    sounds awesome.

  • this is soo peaceful

  • courtney love stole nirvana's unreleased song Old Age and used it on a Hole album.

Does anybody else think this could be written by kurt cobain but with new lyrics?.......just sayin

  • @maxmatt4 no, it's very typically dave music this, he's more pop than kurt where as kurt was dirtier punk influenced.

  • @maxmatt4 not at all, the guitar part doesnt sound anything like anything Kurt would come up with.

+ Dave would never do that without giving Kurt credit.

  • Greatness......

  • this song is beautiful <3

  • i absolutly fkin love this song

  • one of my fav songs by them :)

  • Actually, if you want to hear my side, it's about not running away. If you get pissed at me, or I at you, YOU NEVER WALK AWAY! I'm lucky you see. I can argue with the wife, but always give her a kiss before I go to bed. It's about love.

  • the best :) x

  • FOO FIGHTERS <3

  • Just Beautyful !

  • I used to think this song was calm and chilling, but today I was analysing the lyrics, IDK, sounds like Dave murdered the chick...anyways the song creeps me out now, and it's better than at first.

  • @TimmyRamone I think it's about laying down still on train tracks while the train comes. Basically a suicidal death with the one he loves

  • "Promise I will be forever yours

Promise not to say another word..."

    I think it's all.Love it.

  • man i have to smoke a spliff to this song!

  • great song,

once and again, foo fighters rock my mind

  • This song is so good. It calms me down.

  • Same, i use this when i'm pissed off about something....and large amounts of weed.

  • Umm, Foo Fighters are not underrated or in the background. The Pretender was the most densely played alternative rock song of 2007. It holds the record for longest running #1 in the Modern Rock Tracks' history, with 18 weeks at #1 (so says wikipedia). I wouldn't call that underrated.

  • @EraserHR wikipedia is a site made by people and altered by people, not a trust worthy site

  • @5luckynumberseven2

Wikipedia is rather trust worthy you justneed to keep you common sence and look at their bibligraphie. Those are mostly rather trust worthy. Besides, you arn't able to just change anything in wikipedia any more, Because you need proof to show your right, and after that the wikipedia contrubiters will check the facts. so Wikipedia is rather trust worthy...

  • @Elitecommander0 dude i've changed stuff on there without proof

  • ya but they so good its impossible for people to like them enough

  • is there a live version of this song on youtube?

I can remember that there was a skin and bones live version but its not on the CD

  • Dave and Kurt? Why even compare? They both bring unexplicable beauty to everything their music is applied to.

  • It's amazing! I love it.

  • Awesome

  • Best c.d. of all time (disc two, that is). I listen to this at least twice a week; it keeps me happy. No music has ever touched my soul like this has. Now, pack one up, everybody. Let's honor Kurt as we ought to.

  • @ZeppelinHendrix420 if you're a foo foighters fan that doesnt mean you honor kurt. kurt was just in the same band as dave and thats it. when i'm listening to foo fighters i honor them. i used to honor kurt...a long time ago. :)

  • the song is so absoutely beautiful. i can't find the right words.

  • This has a great melody if you listen closely.

    still

  • track

  • The Foos are one of the best and most talented bands of all time, period. Dave Grohl puts Kurt Cobain to shame in every possible way. Even after all the Grammys and such that they have won, the Foo Fighters are somehow still underrated.

  • you can´t say that

Kurt was great but I understand what you mean and yeah Dave is brilliant and his Musik touchs my soul his voice is great and his songs too.

  • worthlessdrunk:

    Nirvana - All Apologies.

Until I heard this Nirvana song, I thought the same too.

  • true, i agree. But somehow thats only in their advantage. If they would be so populair as nirvana, they would probably be hyped too much...I like the foo fighters also bevcause they are great musicians and a little bit in the background of attention

  • This has become one of my favorite foo fighters songs

  • is the second disc all acoustic/ soft songs ?

  • yeah its giutar its easy to play its giutar yasshole

  • words will never be enough to tell somebody, how beautiful the song is

  • i think most of the people say when they hear the name foo fighters.. omg foo fighters ... just another rockband .... NO ... if people would know what soft acoustic songs the foo´s have they would be impressed

  • is it just me or is there a harp in the background?

  • that's OBVIOUSLY A GUITAR, YA ASSHOLEE!!!!

  • this song is underrated. More people should know about the softer side of the Foos or any good band

  • I have always felt like this could be a song that Kurt Cobain would sing with Nirvana. It definately sounds similar to a Nirvana song. There is probably a reason for that though. :)

  • Actually, the first time I heard this song, I noticed it was very similar to something in the way, by Nirvana

  • correct me if im wrong, but this song is about suicide right?

  • This song is great!

  • this cd is amaaaazing

  • One of the best accoustic albums ever, there's a big hole in your collection if you don't have it

  • i was 12 when the album came out 17 and i still get chills like the first time i heard it.

  • It's "here forever deep beneath the dirt".

Isn't this song just amazing? I fell asleep listening to it last night. I had amazing dreams about running though the woods and I got to this meadow where I climbed up a hill and looked over the landscape. I actually cried from how beautiful it was.

  • this song brings me such a peace ..

  • it's here forever deep beneath the dirt

jsut go look up the lyrics

  • This CD is top 10 of all time. for real.

  • I`LL BUY IT TOMORROW

  • such a melodic music. you're amazing dave.

  • i fuckin love dis tune

  • hes not boring

  • i dont like to think it is about suicide, but it definetly is..this song is really amazing too...damn it dave

  • Dave explained this song in an interview. It is about when he was a kid some guy killed himself by running out in front of a train, because his wife left him. Dave was a kid and him and a friend found this dude's finger and was being childish about it. As he got older he thought about that guy and thought the situation was horrible. Hes pretty much feeling sorry for the dude.

  • You guys talk shit!!!! Couldnt it just be a good song without you cunts looking in to every bloody word they write??!!

  • Quality, your comment made me laugh my nuts off and I even had to register just to fucking tell you!

  • lol thats the funniest comment ive ever seen

  • he's talking about someone who died and how much that person meant to him, so he's talking either: 1) he'll wait patiently for his death 2) he will kill himself. most likely the second... weird lyrics, but the song is real good!

  • This is my favorite song on In Your Honor's disc 2. I just love it so much. It relaxes me.

  • it suggests suicide or death by 'Here forever deep beneath the dirt'

i don't know... it's such a good song either way.

  • I don't think there's a right answer to this song's meaning. Dave Grohl likes to write songs that everybody can make up their own mind about. For me, it's about suicide, but for another person it will be about a break-up. Sorry for my bad english.

  • your English was absolutely fine

  • i think it could be about a bad break-up, and he feels so depressed that he gets drunk and then he feels like jumping off a bridge. But I'd like the think he didn't jump.

  • I like to think of this song as a lone soldier in the battlefield, by himself after the end of the fighting. It makes the song much more epic when I think about it that way. I know this probably wasn't the intended meaning, but that's what works for me.

  • thats a dope vision to have for this song..the lone soldier. im gonna roll with that.

  • whoa, that was a creepy side of Foo fighters i've never heard before...good song btw

  • I bought this CD when it first came out, and it was pretty god damn mindblowing at the time. This is the first time I've revisited it in over a year, and it's as fantastic as I remember. My favorite Foo Fighters album, bar none.

  • OVER A YEAR?!! I listen to it every three days. I can't live without it, man. lol

    Seriously, I'm not kidding.

  • I'm the same with masturbation......no seriously I'm not kidding. No mate, but you are fuckin boring

  • he talks about many things and thats what i like so much right now...

suicide... trust... a broken world... thats what i hear right here...

  • I think that it talks about suicide, isn't it?

  • I'd like to hear what you guys think of the lyrics of this song. You would think they are self explanatory, but it's complex as well. Any thoughts?

  • I love this song so much.

The version on the skin and bones DVD is absolutely amazing!

    Love it!!

  • how beautiful and mellow. the lyrics are a wonderful mental ..umm. forest? super pretty Foos!

  • <3!

  • wow, do most of their stuff sound like this?

I've always wanted to listen to Foo Fighters, since I heard they were good, but never got around to it. If this is what they usually sound like, I've been missing out.

  • u have really been missing out..

  • Not really, but if you ONLY like this sound of the Foos, you should listen to "in your honor (Disc 2)". It's like this, more or less.

    Awesome song!!!

  • yeah dude, there awesome!

  • some of it sounds like this, this song is amazing. you can see what else they have on the list above. the new album has some more mellow stuff. they are awesome i have all their albums, except for in your honor

  • @GreatMighty

nah, most of its heavier and less soulful, but you wrte this a year ago so youve already been dissapointed

the rest of the album is pretty chill and give colour and shape a listen cause thats awsome but this songs is there deepest one

  • amazing!!!!!!!

  • It's one of my favourite song from this band :) Luv it !!

  • i love this song, i heard it for the first time today, it was in the car of a friend who drove me home, no one said a word and it seemed like a dream, all around us only fields and trees...

    amazing :)

  • Amazing.

  • i love this song

    thanks :)

  • Dave, Nate, Taylor, and Chris changed my life

  • this song brings a lot of memories ... mostly good ones :)

  • thx god u added da lyrics on da description

u don't know how hard is to find this song juz searchin for "foo fighters still" in youtube xD

  • Best on the album -- which is saying something.

  • I like every foo fighters songs I´m a extrme foo fan!

  • in your honor is pretty good but i still prefer their earlier stuff from the colour and the shape.

  • The Colour and the Shape is their best cd imo...

  • i love listenin to this cd to mellow out after a stressful day

  • I don't know if I got it right, but is the part "here forever deep beneath the dirt" saying that the "main character" killed and buried his girl or both himself and the girl?

  • Maybe, its the end. Like someone found them and decided to bury them both.

    Thats what i think.

Its about being in love and comitting suicide together. To be together forever. Creepy but sweet.

  • To me comitting suicide to be together forever as you said isn't that romantic... It's creepy and a bit sick in my opinion...

  • shakespeare anyone?

  • con questa ho finito

  • this song is one of my fave foos songs and that's saying alot

  • So much meaning and emotion in this song.

  • As the decades pass, you have certain songs that mark time......this is definitely one of them for me.

    Thanks for posting.

    :)

  • i agree

made me cry the first time i heard it

    lol

    brings back memories

  • What an awesome album.

  • The change of pace from their usual music kind of just makes you wanna sit and appreciate how great this song is

  • never get bored of hearing this song...

promise i will be forever yours

promise not to say another word

  • This album is my favorite. Over and Out is my favorite song in the worlddd. Very understated indeed.

  • this song is so poetic ( and suicidal) i love it!!!

  • My God, this song and the whole acoustic side to this album stir some strong memories. A very understated side to Foo Fighters

  • yeah, i lost this album in katrina. i'm about to by it agian. i would have killed to hear this song agian

  • Love this song .. you just feel the feelings putted in it.. <3
