  • James Dyson famously created 5127 prototypes of his first vacuum cleaner before he got it right. This is not a fact I would advertise. It translates to 5127 attempts to get it right. What must the first one have looked like? In 5127 incarnations of something, you could turn a flip-flop design into an airliner.

  • Sir James Dyson. The "Steve Jobs" of things that suck and blow.

  • "And then the oscillator is there, so it oscillates around."

  • I have to say that I do agree with the top 2 comments that state that this device is basically useless because it doesn't really solve any important problem. But simply look at the beautiful design of this fan. Even though it is expensive and there are other alternatives the design simply surpasses any other fan design making it much more elegant and modern. It's more like a piece of art then a device for me

  • ??, that was a really shoddy explanation with no real substance. The most convincing point was the environmental thing at the end. Still, it looks pretty cool.

  • To all the people who keep saying he's 'solving problems that don't exist, yes we know. All the guy does is innovate old ideas and make money from it, please stop whining.

  • Safer than a conventional fan? Have you ever put your hand inside the blades of a conventional fan? Those engines are so weak...

I put my hand in the ceiling fan going full blast. Mild discomfort, at best.

  • also ..... Dyson products are the ugliest contraptions in the history of design ... !!! ... its such a shame there was no 'aesthetics' person at Dyson when they came up wth that first dual cyclone thing. it will be laughed at as an eyesore in years to come.

  • Utterly Naff ......, I thought he wasnt into 'gimmicks' .... ha , running out of reasons for it to exist ..... 'look you can carry several of them on your arm' ...... has anyone ever in the history of the world carried more than one fan ? .... what a crock of utter sh*t !!!

  • screw the bladeless fan, its all about the Tesla bladeless turbine!

  • the chinese have made a copy of this!

  • What rubbish. It's not more energy efficient (see the wikipedia article) and costs 15 times as much as a normal fan.

  • @teslapower220 he was comparing use of a fan to use of an a/c

  • @dddaaannn360 I could get an a/c for the price.... If i wanted a fan, i'd get a normal $50 table fan.

  • that's right he doesn't say the price because it is an overpriced piece of shit

  • I agree, there's truly nothing worse than the discomfort of the air blowing towards me. Thank god Dyson's revolutionary innovation has solved this with their $400 "air multiplier", which costs...$15 to make? Ridiculous!! It's simply a fan underneath which forces air out of the loop on top.

And this removes the issue of cleaning my fan!? Does anyone even do that - well anyway you can't even clean this one; it just gets clogged.

As someone said, solving problems which don't exist.

  • @clementcoolguy Well you're no fun! I thought it was cool. There are a million other fans out there with blades if you want one. His team decided to think up a new design for a fan. This type of creativity should be commended! :P

  • who needs to carry 5 of these at the same time?

  • im 17 teen and im a inventor my self and im trying to get a hold of Dyson

  • I don't think anyone could feel conventional fans chopping air because the blade is turning at thousands RPM. On the other hand, I don't think it's easier to clean Dyson Fan. The blade is inside the blade. It's more difficult to clean a Dyson fan than a conventional fan. However, Dyson fan does have an advantage. It's safe for children.

  • Wow, Cool~ :-o

  • Saying this is "bladeless" is like saying a car is "engineless", just because it's stuffed inside and you can't see it.

He's selling people air. Hahaha. (and some cheap plastic assembly)

  • so when the air sucks in from the base and the dust collects in there I find that harder to clean than a conventional fan...............................

  • OHH SHIT JUST HIT THE DYSON!

  • This would be more useful for drying my ass...

  • It could work as a basketball ring

  • wow it messed up instead of abeladi it said abelati lol

  • @abelati No it only runs trearch games like black ops and..... thats it

  • how the hell is that going to make my voice change win i talk into it..?!?!

  • Yeah but, does it run Crysis?

  • In the winter, you can do that. And you can store that, inside of that.

  • Over rated high price plastic junk, go ahead and buy one and dont forget to pick you up a junk dyson vacuum on your way to check out.

  • that guy sounds like a creeper

    "dyssson"

  • This product truly works and is very modern and sexy as all hell.

I don't want to take out a mortgage for my futurefan though!!!

  • To each his own...good idea but the only problem is the price

  • 300 and up?.... eat shit. Ill spend that on a window AC and use the money for a second fan to run it for the next five years fucking wow. And the hand dryer sucks ass too my hands are to big for it and touch all the nasty shit some little fuck ass kid left cause its a toy to him

  • That is awesome i want one of those

  • he said annular. as in anus.

can you make it quiet? no? fail.

i like how english can just make crap sound great with their choice of words. wish i had that skill.

  • Despite the pice I want one that shit looks futuristic

  • Dyson - expensively solving problems that don't really exist. I mean who has ever sat in front of a fan on a hot day and been at discomfort by the air being 'chopped'?!

  • @criticaleye24 well in fact it will be cheaper to use than a traditional fan in the long term as it requires less energy

  • @criticaleye24 Don't knock it until you've tried it. It moves more air than a fan and really is more soothing and comfortable than a fan.

  • @phototristan Don't tell that if the roon is full of hot air that its going to cool it down like an aircon , because for that price I would get an aircon , not that shit. I can make one of them in my shed , and dickheads are paying $500 , lol good on you Dyson , you found a way to rip the people off and not get in trouble for it , lol very good

  • @69muscat Of course it's not as good as A/C but it's way better than a fan. I paid $130. for mine and it was well worth it.

  • Dyson: You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but here's where I screw over five million consumers with a waste of a product.

  • This costs $300? Fuck that, I'd rather just live in a deep freezer.

  • I want one soooooo bad <3 I hate the 'nausea' buffetting of a fan blade, as it seems choppy and uneven. I know it doesn't bother most people but perhaps I'm just more discerning. Most people don't find the choppy buffet of a fan disconcerting but it is discomforting and almost like 1 / 100th of the feeling of nausea to me. I love the feel of fast but smooth wind (like from an air conditioner or a cold breeze) that this product would offer.

  • I want one.

  • I think the idea is that you could potentially use these as an alternative to having A\C. If you bought 3 of these (1 for each bedroom say) at a cost of about $1000 it would be a much more efficient / enviromental way to cool your house than central air, also allowing you to have fresh air from outside. Not that I'm about to do that but they do generate quite a bit of cool air.

  • infinite

dumb ass this doesnt give off cold air this pushes the same tempurature air at you faster

  • @Infinite90b: These are in no way a replacement for or have a similar effect as an air conditioner. Air conditioners use chemicals like Freon to actually cool the air.

This is made to be a fan-only alternative, and even then it still operates with a fan inside.

  • With $300 I can buy 3 real cheap wall Mounted air conditioners or 300 dollar priced fans at family dollar.

  • Yeah. And from the reviews, it doesn't do half the job in cooling the air. When he comes up with something that doesn't cost three times as much as a car and actually does what the cheapo item costs, maybe I would buy one.

  • @Mudhooks Normal fans don't cool the air either, idiot. :D

  • @electronicoffee don't be so sure.... maybe mudhooks has developed some revolutionary new air-cooling fan that he's not sharing with anyone else!

  • um yeah im not willing to spend 250 bucks on a fucking fan when i can get one for like 10 bucks that works perfectly fine as this one.

  • black magic

  • Its an interesting concept...

But they got rid of the choppiness of air in the 1940's on aircraft using two counter-rotating blades. :S

  • Comment removed

  • the ordinary fan can be used if you remove the irons around it as a blender so you can chope tomatoes and stuff how on earth am i going to do that without the blades????

  • and except that is air multiplier if it is broken you can stick it to the wall and play basketball...

  • The last air bender.....

  • it still has a fan in the base...

  • If you have enough disposable income to buy a $300 fan, wouldn't you have central AC already....

  • Very nice.. maybe a little loud. But!! Wow!!!

  • humm jerk i know you proably know how to make this for $275 less

  • when he took it apart...it sounded so cheap...yet so expensive....and the noise mad by regular fans is actually pleasent..puts you to sleep

  • He looks like price Joffrey

  • How does the non buffeting air flow feel when you are naked in front of it after a shower and you are getting the cool breeze blowing against your big nuts??? This is a key factor for me in purchasing this item. i like the idea of non buffetting nut blow winds.

  • i tested thousands of products. most companies have no skill at development. Dyson, part of a totalitarian group of fake companies, sold a cheap toy vacuum for 600.00, a months rent.

  • Contiued...why get this 300 dollar fan when you can go to dollar general and get a 15 dollar fan that does the same thing or you can just go outside get ur self a cold drink and get in the shade or something

  • If any of the people who think about getting this thing YOUR ALL IDIOTS...the only thing thts different is the way it looks

  • @Accisma

  • You can use this technology for a hair dryer!

  • U can use this tech for a hair dryer

  • The $240 price tag is the turn off. I would rather get 8 fans than 1 fan. It's very cool, but very expensive for a fan.

  • How is shit going to hit that effectively?

  • @calum212 One of the best comments that I have seen on Facebook. well done, sir.

  • @calum212 ?

  • @calum212 cos you said that i aint buying one now

  • @calum212 well when shit hits a bladeless fan, it won't turn into something you can laugh someone for... it says shit and you can laugh even harder then you would! so actually a bladeless fan is better

  • @calum212 pro commenter

  • Toshiba invention not dyson

  • $80 gets me a brand new window air conditioner. The other $220 I'll have left over buys me a summer's worth of electricity. Plus, I won't have to look at this goofy thing on my coffee table while I sit there, sweating my package off, in the middle of August.

Stay the hell outta my carbon footprint

  • Wow! new fan with invisible blades ha ha ha!

  • LOL! Amazon lists these for $230-$300. I think I'll stick with $15 fans with blades, that are harder to clean, and do the same thing. Did this Dyson genius realize that the average person isn't going to spend two hundred fucking dollars on a FAN?

  • @PremiumPIus No, they realized they could sell their product better as a luxury good, given that they have sole ownership of the invention through patents and there would be far more demand than supply at lower prices.

  • now what happens if you line like 15 up and shoot objects through it...

    troll Physics :DDDDDDDDDDDD

  • i mean its cool but for the price of it i'd rather just pick up a regular bladed fan.

  • @vkotis I'd rather pay homeless people to sit in the corner of my room and blow really hard.

  • @vkotis It'd be cheaper, lol.

  • @burninmunkeys yeah plus you'll be providing jobs for the homeless, killing two birds with one stone

  • @vkotis I'd be killing a lot of birds with that stone, hunger, homelessness, joblessness, my comfort, etc. Lol, I'd be like the Superman of the bird:stone killing ratio.

  • @burninmunkeys I'd do that to, but replace the homeless guy with your mom.

  • @banvir99999 She does blow pretty good.

  • @vkotis I'd rather pay homeless people to sit in the corner of my room and blow really hard.

  • amazingly pointless

  • This fan costs $300 dollars... You could by like 30 fans for that price... And besides when a fan is on you can barley see the fucking blades anyway.

  • wanna china version

  • excellent no dust to clean on the blade

  • I love Dyson and all, but this thing looks fucking pointless and overpriced.

  • gotta give the man his due.he's invented some cool stuff

  • @themachman19691 theyre real awesome and technology of the future but the problem is that they are off the charts expensive

  • i like the design of it, but the cost pushes me away from it. :(

  • Yeah but, will it blend?

  • @mrsimms101 Omg we really need to see a "Will it Blend - Dyson Fan Air" video

  • I like my fan chopping the air with its stainless steel blades, cause its brutal.

  • this the creation, the guy at works been crappin about for 3 hrs , " im finallin decided to buy the bladeless fan for $300" like hes been considering for yrs coz hes such a tight ass, anyway im gonna bag him tmr coz this is such a waste of my life, omg it simply takes ideas from airplane aerofoils on a piece of plastic, GET A LIFE !!!

  • ya, he had about $1000.00 worth of fans on his arm...these things are WAY overpriced....

  • u guys are dicks, this guy is genius.

  • Random fact about this fan... its bloody noisy!

  • oh god, that hand dryer thing is on the cinema and the airport in bergen (norway)

  • Stick your head in it and now you have a hairdryer

  • that hand drier works amazingly!!!!!

  • It doesn't look like you can talk into it and hear any echo's D:

  • He's looks like the Steve Jobs of fans and vacuum cleaners (not a good thing).

  • i like it that hes really happy with his creations he sorta looks at them lovingly

  • is it so hard to understand that fans only ever moved air around and didn't cool it? Some Americans on here not doing their countrymen's reputation any favours

  • it sounds like a hoover...

  • Good if you are in the UK where it is cool most of the time...doesn't work where I live where it's just hot dry air...and a breeze is just more hot dry air (100 deg F/ 38 deg C +).... I need air conditioning.

  • Finally! Someone solved the problem of easily carrying my five fans around with me when I walked around my apartment! And no longer will I be forced to endure the horrible mutilating danger of having a weak fanblade close to my person. Those things are dangerous!

  • did he say "anular" as he stroked the hole? wow. the joke writes itself.

  • If I'm going to spend $300 I'm going to get a 10k BTU air conditioner. This thing don't do crap when it gets 90+ degrees outside.

  • I'm not paying for his dildos.

  • Does anyone have a ceiling fan anymore

  • C'mon guys, you are not paying 300 bucks for a simple fan.

you are paying the design and the concept behind it.

also a chair can be paied 10 or 200 euro.

but it's still a simple chair and you still gonna put your ass on it to sit down.

  • @supermauro Your paying for a pricing scheme called "Price skimming" because hardly anyone sells a bladeless fan he can afford to jack up prices in order to reap the profits! He'll drop them when another company makes a similar product!

  • @supermauro no... Im not paying 300 bucks because I dont want it. :-P

  • Comment removed

  • I got it and cut my hand is that normal?

  • I have tried it in Singapore, it is really awesome piece of invention.

  • £160 i paid £20 for a normal fan and who actually finds the buffeting from a normal fan uncomfortable

  • Can't wait for the portable one! :D

  • what shall i buy windows and some of their fans? waht about my osx?

  • @xXPointBreak lol

  • This wouuld look AWESOME as a ceiling fan

  • I wish I could type in a popmous brittish accent, to make my comment sound fancier.

    .

What kind of moron would willingly spend 10 times more money for a product that has no real improvement?

    .

    300 dollars !!!

It is still made of plastic, It still has a fan in the design, it still makes noise and it does not SAVE any electricity compared to a normal fan.

    .

    Ridiculously overpriced.

  • Does this fan really work?

  • It cost so much because of the components inside. It has a motor and fan blade inside that has the same design concepts as a airforce jat engine. When i turn mine off it sounds like im turning a jet engine off.

  • no you shut the fuck up WARHORSE1948, it is absolutely ridiculous how much they want for a fan! and no its not worth it, your most likey some FATASS who can regulate his body temperature like us normal people so yeah you would be the one to blow off 300 dollars for a fan! And like he said it was light weight and practical, i mean i doesnt look like theres much too it WHY THE HIGH PRICE!

  • Everybody talking crap about this fan shut the f uc k up. It is a great fan that is manufactured to last 10 years. I think i will get my moneys worth out of it in 10 years. Just because you cant afford one dosent mean you can talk crap about it. Let me know what happens to your hand when you stick in your traditional fan and ill let you know what happens when i stick my hand in a dyson fan.....NOTHING but a cold breeze. Yeah at least ill still have a hand. F uc k all you people!!!!

  • This fan is a cool invention but there isn't any 'discomfort' from using a bladed fan. Whenever I hear this man say that I want to shove his head into a balded fan that's on high. "Buffeting" he calls it. I don't know what kind of bladed fans he was using, because this is absolute horseshit.

  • damn this guy wants $300 or more for the damn thing! what a greedy bastard!!

  • I would take a bullet for Mr. Dyson.

  • Chinese knock off for 1/10 the price coming in a few months, undoubtedly.

  • not everybody wants windows

  • he's a blower and a sucker

  • @ James Dyson ~ incorporate a noise cancelling circuit which samples noise and produce the same kind and pitch but in opposite phase so they cancel each other. You have to be realistic in pricing your product. There are more economicly strife people than rich people. That is how the chinese are dominating the commerce and obliterating competitors in business.

  • Funny how they dont mention the noise level, which can only be described as disturbing.

  • all these comments dissing dyson is childish you all are mad because he makin fat paper and you not

  • If only he could invent an anti-lisp device. Dyson has like the worst lisp a man could ever have. How you doin, Dyson?

  • this things badass

  • no thanks...my girlfriend blows better. and for free

  • @BearDownTuitama

can I Have her number !!

  • @BearDownTuitama

    pwnd !1!!

  • Dope, but that is expensive.

  • I saw this fan for close to $400 in a store. How does this guy sleep at night? He obviously has no qualms about scamming people. SOB.

  • its sooo expesnive...299 Euros!!!!1

  • Bear in mind however that "chopped-up" air is good for you, it's chock full o' vita-mins and it'll put hair on your chest, something girly-man air-foil fans just won't do. ;0)

  • perpetuum mobile is close or what? allready have an ideea;))

  • alien tech lol. wow this is very cool.

  • Lmao !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this makes me smile ,,,

  • Is this guy related for Freeman Dyson?

  • yea but can you sing into the back of one and talk like darth vadar..

  • This reminds me of the paper towels shamwow video.

Dyson fan! It's only 300 dollars and it has 100% less fan blades! Look how many I can carry at once! Do you know how many friends I make when I do this? Now you can stick as many fingers as you want in it! Look it even fits inside it's self, you can bring it to parties!

  • you would think that with all the money that guy has made he would have gotten that thing removed from his forehead by now. . . .

  • So you spend more energy earning the funds to pay for a fan that does literally the same thing as any other old fan, minus the fan blades. Not sure how energy efficient that is supposed to be. I'll look cooler by buying a cheap fan and taking my wife out for a great evening with a full tank of gas and change to spare. A $200-$300 fan??? That's not "cool" that is "wrong".

  • heres a great idea... i put a fan in the base and funnel it through a plastic circle, and then charge $300 or more ^^

  • It dosent work worth a crap do not buy one

  • This fan actually does have a blade; it’s in the base of the unit, you just can’t see it..

  • On a hot day you could hang one of those around your head and relax.
