No offens but crested gecko look like a pile of shit and they jump alot like wannabes frogs I like geckos lepord ones though but I like my beardie much better
@DatsxSick115 no "offens" but i think you're a bit stupid. If anything a frog is a wannabe crested gecko. Reptiles are far more advanced. Bearded dragons are boring, Cresties have character
If you want to stop your crested from jumping you have to hold it more frequently. Start out by holding it for just a few minutes a couple times a week and then increase the frequency. I will be honest it doesn't work on ALL Cresteds, some are just like that. I have quite a few and some are laid back and others aren't. Good luck!
im getting one this weekend they are so cool and nice and like he said in the vid they dont bite its gonna by my first reptile so ya i held one yesterday at petsmart he looked like he was in good shape
the reason why it jumps is not because it likes to but because he wants to escape. reptiles tolerate human interaction they dont really enjoy it only reptiles like yours having at a young age will learn to tolerate the handling however must are just excited to get out of the cage and a chance to escape.
Incorrect, many reptiles enjoy human interaction. i just bought a crestie just like this one and he jumps but always towards me and onto my shirt then he crawls/jumps up to my shoulders and falls asleep in my hair or stays on my hand and sleeps there. does that sound like something tolerating humans? i feed mine at the same time every other day so when its that time I see her waiting at the terrarium door and she jumps out at me everytime.
@edjorthebeast you probably have him now but try catching him on your palm and closing your hand ontop so he's inside... This should make him feel safe and after a while he will get used to you, handle him as much as possible but only in the late afternoon because thay are nocturnal... try talking to him aswell
Looks exactly like my baby. how do you suggest handling a new one for the first time, as in picking them up for the first time? do you just have them climb on your hand, or should you encourage it on to your hand by poking the back leg just once?
@eric18603yankees when i handle it i prevent it from getting out of reach, it getting behind the tv would be major failage. it's not as jumpy, has grown a bunch, but continues to move actively when i have him out. i should make a newer video of him.
i have a baby crested about the same size....or do you prevent him/her from jumping in random places. kinda afraid he/she is going to jump behind the tv or something
i got 1
