To his credit he does try reasoning with her, showing everyone that Cunningham's program is complete nonsense that deludes people into a false sense of happiness.

If anyone is in doubt about what a horrible, self-important person Ms Farmer is, look out for the scenes where she talks condescendingly to Donnie's mother and rudely pushes Roberta Sparrow out of the way.

She's very intolerant and judgemental, so having her "hero" dethroned at the end of the movie is quite fitting.

This clip has a point. Most teachers that were in my high school try to crush students aspirations and make them pale copies of themselves. They don't listen. They try and make everyone turn out just like them instead of let the young people blossom and grow and be intelligent.
