You know, I like playing baseball, but I'd rather WATCH sports like UFC and Football. They are more fast paced, I guess that is why atleast I what them.
If one thing is true about steroids, it is that it has made the game much more exciting to watch. No one loves it more than to see balls clobbered out of the stadium. The Sosa and Mcguire home run chase brought baseball back after the strike and Bonds made it even more exciting when he broke the all time record. If you buy fan apparel or a ticket to a game, you are supporting steroid use, because their are users on every team.
Not so sure there are users anywhere close to the level of the late 90s/early 00s though. Look at the decline in single season HR totals coming from the top hitters in the game in the last few seasons. Quite the difference, plus the top HR hitters are no longer guys in their mid-late 30s. It was clearly a steroid era in the sport, and it has hopefully passed too. As a die hard baseball fan I don't look back fondly on those "exciting" cheat filled days at all.

He said he used the Corked Bat in batting practice, to hit harder then. He never used the bat before or after the incident, it was suppose to be an accident. But everyone sees him as bad as Bonds, and Mcgwire. But I believe it was an accident, they checked all of the other bats he used during game playing. And don't say they only use one bat? First off, as far as not finding any other corked bats: he was ejected from that game in the FIRST inning, they didn't go to the clubhouse to confiscate his bats until at least the fifth inning, sounds like plenty of time to switch out other corked bats. And even if none of his other bats were corked, does that negate the corked bat he did use in the game? didn't think so.

Also, as has been stated on this board and lots of other places, corking a bat doesn't mean you automatically hit the ball to the moon on contact like Sammy claims he did in batting practices, so it would not take long for him to realize he wouldn't do much entertaining with it.
