@FucktheWorld175 I paid for Ripit to get unlimited usage and the license. But there is a free version that you can download. If you watch my other video; "where to download Ripit and handbrake" that will tell you where you can get it.
All you have to to is click and drag the pic over to iTunes. That is to much hunting and pecking. However I use these same formats and I I've them!!!!
@ TheXboxfreak96 the main idea is the same. Handbrake is universal. But Ripit is not. You'll need to find another application that's Windows based. After you find another application, you can watch this video to give you the main idea on how to use handbrake if you so choose.
@MacLover678 I followed the directions to a "T" and I get an error message when I drop it into iTunes that states not available. I ripped it with ripit, then I encoded it with HandBrake, just like you stated. I'm running OSX 10.6.8 so there shouldn't be a problem there. just not sure what I did wrong
If you click "compress" on ripit, it creates a file playable on itunes for ipod, ipad, iphone and apple tv. There would be no need for handbrake in this instance.
hey does this damage the dvd in anyway? because i have some movies of my friends that I want on my ipod and they aren't on itunes, but I still have to give it back to her.
@JuliaTrekkie1701 The "Ripit" software does not harm the disc in any way. Other software like DVD player, can't get past the copyright protection without special software like what Ripit has. The process is mostly software based. The hardware "the DVD" does not get damaged.
@SuperFattyCakes Yes, this is 100% legal because you still have a copy of the movie, just in a digital form. You can also burn the files to a DVD and is still legal. When it becomes illegal, is when you start selling it and make a prophet without a licence from the company that published it in the first place (Paramount, Disney, etc) You can make as many copies as you would like as long as it does not leave your household.
@OtisRoxanne I usually choose iPhone and iPod Touch, but I recently started using universal. This is compatible with computer, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and tries to push the best possible quality to the device you are watching it on. If you only have iPad as an iOS device, then you can also choose iPad. It's really all the same, it just adjusts the quality to suit the device more properly.
I am not aware of any site that will allow that, but if you can find one, go ahead. You'll have to upload the video, and then re download the converted one. The site might even keep the video you upload so I'd watch out if I were you.
@Iisladiesman No, sorry but handbrake is only a converter to change video files so certain devices can read them. I wish it were though because I had to pay for the Ripit license.
i can't download handbrake, but i did download ripit. i compressed it instead of ripping, and i tried to put it into evom (another app by littleappfactory) it didn't work so well, so im not sure what to do
Sorry if it's doing that. I encountered that issue myself. You can try to play around with the settings on HandBrake or Ripit. And see if it works, you can also try to move the file to the desktop and try to move it in handbrake from there, if it still doesn't work, then handbrake isn't compatible with the way the file was ripped. It all depends on the type of copyright protection it had to begin with. This is common in older movies. You can also try a different converter. Ther
I used rip and then i put it in handbrake and it said " No Valid Source Found" what do i do?btw, i played it and it worked fine but it doesn't work on handbrake.
Yes you can change the quality. You can change audio, video and everything in between. Before you start the conversion process, you can change the features in the video. Usually, you wouldn't need to because once it's on iTunes, it's the same as the DVD quality. But handbrake does give you that option.
Well, before I had handbrake, I had ripit and I found out that I needed a converter, so that's why I have handbrake. As far as I'm aware, that's how it's supposed to be done, but I could be wrong.
Very Helpful thank you.......Can you tell me why you don't just use Handbrake to do everything? I honestly don't know much about either and I am just curious.....

@ehtylbhall It depends on how the video is set up. For example, if you have a dvd movie that has the subtitles feature, but you need to access menus in order to turn it on, iTunes won't take the subtitles in the movie. If the movie has the subtitles as a standard and you can't take it off, then iTunes will take in the movie with subtitles. Hope this helps :)
My only goal in these videos is to help people out. You will never see me with junk. Thank you for giving me a good review. I just wish that the crappy videos weren't the one that come up the first time you search. It was probably hard to find me, but I hope to be more popular soon.
