  • Do I need to read ghosts of onyx first understand this one

  • @Duckys129 I have not read Onyx yet but I did not have problems understanding what was going on. That being said, I already knew Halsey was on Onyx along with other bits of information. If you do read Onyx though, you'll probably learn more about what Halsey and the Spartans were doing there in the first place. I'm planning on reading it next week.

  • can anyone tell me which book i should read next? i just read onyx and i loved the story of different spartans and im tired of master chief's story. which book should i read next?????

  • @illplaywithfire This book Galsslands continues where Onyx left off. So this wouldn't be a bad choice. Chief isn't in the book, just mentioned a few times that's all. As for loving the story, Glasslands is written by a different author than Onyx so there has been quite a bit of differences among fan opinions of her style.

  • @illplaywithfire The Cole Protocol was good, without giving anything away, you have one of the other teams doing things of there own, as well as some more detail on Cpt Keyes and the Arbiter, I never finished it, but it was a good read.

  • All the fans make such a big deal like Bungie could have done whatever they wanted, but in truth, they were not given much breathing room.

  • I do agree that bungie did not really make an effort to synchronize with the books. That being said, I do not believe Reach was Bungie's way of saying I hate you all because look at how much they cared for their community. Plus there wasn't much they could do given the piece of shit deal Microsoft bestowed upon them

  • I have read nearly all the books. That being said, I think Reach is an excellent game. However

  • This trilogy should be given to another author so that they can start over. I was that disappointed.

  • Dude first Strike is like my favourite halo book and is the prequel to ghosts of onyx

  • Glasslands*

  • Oh, can anyone point me to the official site for Halo 4, I want to take a look at all the stuff out for it without being harassed by bullshitters with fake bullshit.

  • you have to read fall of reach first then (if you want the flood, u can just play the game) first strike then ghosts of onyx and then finally glasslands.

  • @TheEricblank Thats something that gets in my craw every time, people dont read the books, they dont know the full story of halo, then they say how something was "great" when it was a complete slap in the face to anyone who pays attention.

  • Comment removed

  • how much was that?

  • @iReallyLoveJV Its about $15 I think, I got my E-book for free so yeah, lol.

  • I love these books and Im thinking of purchasing some. I want to know if these are Novels, Graphic Novels, or something else? If you can please tell me more about the condition of the books they sell it would be a big help. One more thing, are these books hard cover?

  • @Supermario0727 The ones in this video are novels. Graphic novels also exists if you're interested in those. As for the condition, I guess they should be in excellent condition if you get them from a bookstore. Or maybe I'm reading that question wrong? If you want to buy them for a cheap price I usually go through Amazon. As for hardcover... I'm not sure but I think some of the novels can come in either form for example Glasslands was released in both hardcover and paperback.

  • @ForeignDzadzai do i need to read the other books. like the original halo books to understand alot of the stuff in glasslands? cause i get confused with like forerunners and other wierd stuff like that

  • @ToxicAsian5702 Hmm. Well, it helps if you understand the basic concept of some storylines. For example, you need to know what the Spartan program was, who was in charge, and understand how it was a controversial program. In terms of forerunners, in this book it's as if you are an archeologist and are examining their leftover behinds. I would say reading Fall of Reach is a must even if you don't plan to read this book since knowing Chiefs origins is handy.

  • @ForeignDzadzai ok. i read the fall of reach. but like since halo 4 is coming out my friends are talking bout it. one of my friends read the books and he talks bout stuff that i dont know at all. like the spartan 3 program, forerunners, ghost of onyx and stuff so im starting to read the books

  • @ToxicAsian5702 Well i havn't read it yet, but I'm assuming if you read ghosts of onyx first, youll get a better understanding of the halsey storyline. When it comes to spartan 1,2,3 programs I'm kind of lost too lol. Perhaps if he explains it to you it'll be helpful. There's not much forerunner stuff here other than examining some of their left over technology.

  • @ForeignDzadzai It's best to read ghosts of Onyx it explains how they ended up their, and the others......spartans :)

  • @bigethaniel Yeah I've been meaning to read it. You know what...I'm going to start chapter 1 tonight. I've been putting it off for too long now! I just hope I don't see that Halo Evolutions book near it because I love short stories and I have not read any of them in that book yet lol.

  • @Supermario0727 the novels include Halo: The Fall of Reach, Halo: Contact Harvest, Halo: The Cole Protocol, Halo: The Flood, Halo: First Strike, Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, Halo: Glasslands, Halo: Cryptum, Halo: Primordium, Halo: Evolutions, the graphic novels include Halo: Blood Line, Halo: Fall of Reach (a comic version of the novel), Halo Graphic Novel, Halo: Helljumper, Halo: Uprising, i have read all but primordium an i highly recomend them, hope this helped

  • Good grief. The entire thing read like a bad fanfic. Characters were way OOC - previously established heroes used as straw men to be knocked down by her own variety of self-inserts touting halfassed philosophies. None of the military aspect comes through at all either.

It's quite terrible and a definite wrong turn for the entire series.

Bungies had better realize this quick :/.

  • @tenou213 lmao you do know bungie does not own halo anymore right? lol

  • @tenou213 Bungie sold it all to 343 better them than Bungie for sure, they screwed us.

I agree with you completely, she took all her predispositions and inserted them into the story with little regard for the sacred foundation that makes halo what it is, if you ask me, Nylund should be the only one allowed to write for halo...

  • #14 I know ive gone off topic, and im dragging on so ill stop now, I really enjoyed the book, in spite of the problems I found, it was a good story, very good plot setting, I look forward to infinity, sounds amazing.

The civil war on both sides gives me dread, but that comes with the territory, the personality expression was excellent, displayed the thoughts and feelings of everyone very well.

And in the end lots of good things that will enrich the halo universe for the future, good stuff for sure.

  • #13 Not only that but look at the story of Reach the game, pearl harbor style attack, the battle of reach was the biggest battle of the war, bigger than the battle for earth, the Pillar of Autumn was in space about to leave the system when the battle started, Cortana and John were long sense together and the battle was epic, everything in the game was a lie, and that tells me that Bungie hates us all, they dont care for or respect there fans what so ever.

  • @rouncole1 Actually, the thing you were transporting to the autumn wasn't cortana herself, just a fragment, the only real major hole is the length of the battle, everything else adds up rather well, all of Noble Team's Spartans (except for Jorge, of course) are confirmed to be in their 20s, Carter being the oldest of I believe twenty...6? I'm not sure, but they are all of proper age, hell, you can see on their faces that they aren't that old.

  • @spoogeling Actually, no, it does not add up at all, go back and read the last few chapters of "the fall of reach" the Autumn was not on the ground, infact it even says it "the flood" that the autumn was not built for entry, the ship was built it space meant to stay in space, dont give me that crap about it adding up, its all bullshit, the IIIs of noble 6 do not exist, the only ones old enough to be 20 are Tom and Lucy, the others are all dead, look it up before you spout your worship.

  • @spoogeling #2 Oh, and another thing, tell me how it worked out in the book that the battle was a surprise attack, the whole game was all about it being a "pearl harbor" style attack, tell me how that adds up, because the battle for reach was the most epic battle of the war, and it only lasted less than an hour, hundreds of ships in space, I believe 10 or 15 mega MAC guns on orbital stations like the Cairo station from Halo2.

Explain how it adds up smartie ass.........

  • @rouncole1 One more thing! lol

Look at the comparison between Reach and Glasslands, Halsey was appalled when she learned about the IIIs, she made one hell of a big deal about it throughout the whole book, but in the game she treated Carter and the others like it was all situation normal, if she only found out about them now, and she was that upset about it, then why would she talk to them like its normal in Reach, fools like you never take anything into account, you just worship bungie.

  • @rouncole1 The only ones from Bravo company are Cat and 6 which is why they sound so young. The rest of them are from Alpha so which means they are supposed to be older. So it does make sense that they existed and fought during reach. Plus you have to remember that the UNSC sent reinforcements to reach and due to their limited slipspace technology it probably took them weeks to get there. Another things is that the covenant strike in small numbers first before glassing a planet to recover any

  • @BWOization Petty details, my god man, are you really so blind? You bring up petty details like they make any difference...

Look at the BIG details, in both Ghosts of Onyx, and Glasslands, Halsey went apeshit when she heard about the III project, two whole books, one book before Reach came out, and the other after it came out, she went apeshit in the books, but when shes talking to them on reach, its as if nothing is out of the norm...

  • @BWOization #2 And dont give me that crap that she might have thought they were IIs, she knew each II personally, there is no mistaking them...

Then you have the big detail of the IIIs having armor that they would not get, IIIs were always given the SPI armor, which does not have shields, instead it has a weak active camo that the UNSC developed. Then theres the fact that the Autumn was on the ground, which it was built in space incapable of landing, to many holes in the story.....

  • @rouncole1 As for the SPI armor I already knew that. Im just explaining that its not as expensive equipping a 7-12 Spartan squad (trying to determine an number since alot of the original Nobel team died over the years and the fact that I don't know when Noble started using MJOLNIR) compared to 33 Spartans.

  • @BWOization #3 I love how you people make big deals out of the little things, yet there are huge gaping holes in the very fabric of the plot.

And im sticking to the fact that they are to old, the oldest IIIs are Tom and Lucy, all the others are dead, if you cant accept simple facts then your a fool...

  • @rouncole1 Have you read Halsey's journal from the halo reach collectors edition? It explains she had her suspicions about Noble team not being one of hers but kept it to herself. It was also written by Nynlund to make a tighter cannon. And when it was confirmed by Mendez thats when she started getting mad about it. Fwy alot of the small stuff can be important to the story line. And can you also site your source saying that the Pillar wasn't meant for a drydock and ill look it up in my copy.

  • @BWOization I dont recall exactly where, thats one of the annoying holes in my memory, it was either late in "the fall of reach" or early on it "the flood", it really is annoying not being able to pin it down on the spot but I know its there...

  • @BWOization Again, people cant get there heads around the fact that noble team is just too damn old,the oldest IIIs alive are Tom and Lucy from Ghosts of Onyx and Glasslands, all the others died in a mass assault,as they were designed to do,in fact, can you confirm that IIIs can even use Mjolnir?I dont believe they have the capability for using Mjolnir because of the differences inArgumentationBetween IIs and IIIs.The IIsWereGivenTheCeramicBoneEnhancementsSpecificallyForTheUseOfMjolnir.

  • @rouncole1 Theres also a piece of the journal missing which is pretty accurate since Halsey tore a piece out in Fall of Reach. And I think ill reread Fall of Reach just for the hell of it and when I finish in two days ill tell you where they said that the Autum wasnt meant for drydock. No wait I think Cortana said it in the flood when the Autum crash landed so ill get back to you on that in maybe 4 days lol

  • @BWOization Well, my over all point at the end of it all is that Reach is a total rewrite and has nothing to do with the actual story, we know for a fact that the IIIs of Noble team do no exist, because the oldest ones are Tom and Lucy, we know that Halsey went apeshit in Glasslands and Ghosts of Onyx over there existence, yet she didnt in the game, and the fact that the battle for Reach was massive and intense, it was not a surprise attack what so ever...

  • @BWOization Further more, your siting "Halseys journal" which is not canon, it is no more reliable than the game, it was after all, designed to compliment the game, to justify how Bungie boned us in the ass because they hate the fans...

  • @rouncole1 Actually Kurt stated that it was exactly the same enhancment just that it was safer and besides the drugs that allowed them to live through almost everything that would kill a regular spartan II which would explain 6's epic death lol And can you confirm its not cannon? Because at the end of glasslands Parangosky showed Halsey her journal on reach and said that in the journal that she refered to the spartan IIs as hers and in the journal she does keep saying that.

  • @BWOization "Because at the end of glasslands Parangosky showed Halsey her journal on reach and said that in the journal that she refered to the spartan IIs as hers and in the journal she does keep saying that."

I never said that the IIs were not hers, what im saying is that she knew every last of the IIs personally, how could she confuse IIs and IIIs, its impossible.

  • #12 Reach was Bungies way of saying "we hate you all" because they rewrote the whole story line, not to mention that the spartan-IIIs were to old, Tom and Lucy were the only survivors, from the first batch, they are 20 years old, Kat looks about that age, and the other are all clearly older, its impossible for them to exist, look at the time line from "ghosts of onyx" and compare to "the fall of reach" it does not add up, the program started to late for noble team to exist.

  • #11 I believe it can happen, and it should.

Something else, the IV program has started already, Parangosky said they were using "consenting adults" which tells me that they may be using common ODSTs for the project, which is fantastic, not only would that give them all kinds of room to create a superior ground force, but think if the game potential of making spartans in bulk, of any age, it could make the failure of the game Reach more realistic....

  • #10..... The protrail of the Arbiter was very good, personally I have respect for the Arbiter, and in the end I say screw Telcam and Jul, screw Osmen and Parangosky, peace is possible, regardless of common belief, humans are capable of being very honorable, a peace deal has been made, and if both sides can respect each other to stop trying to kill each other, things could ultimately end up in a friendship, John and Vadem (chief and arbiter) became close I believe, much respect between them.

  • #9 Thats the sum of my complaints, well, other than the ending, to much suspense, you cant end a book like that, to much hanging up in the air, there absolutely needs to be a part two, otherwise thats the shittiest ending I have ever seen for a book.

I was bugging out when I realized it was the last page, I couldnt handle it for a good twenty minutes. I read by E-book so I couldnt see how much more there was to it.

All and all I liked it, I really enjoyed the parts about Sangheili Culture.......

  • #8 As for the rest of the content, I think she imposed to much of her cultural background on the story, she is clearly of British decent, I dont know much about her, but I would assume that she is from Australia, given that everything important happens in Sidney and not in Europe or North America, and so on.

Not only that but the wording she used, she made Hood sound like a full blown Brit, when anyone who has played either halo 2 or 3 would know that he has an American accent.

  • #7.... considering what everyone else in the program did, I stand by her to the end, they judge her for the speck in her eye while they have whole trees growing in there eyes, as the old saying goes.

  • #6.... As I said from the beginning, it does not justify what happened, nothing ever could, from its inception the program was wrong, especially the part about "counter terrorism" I for one support the insurrectionists, in the end, all they want is freedom, they want to be left alone to control there own lives, they hate the tyranny imposed by the UNSC and a federalist dictatorship, and I agree with them.

I digress, point being, Halsey was the least of the evils and she was not judged fairly

  • #5 And lets not forget who approved all the projects, Admiral Margarete Parangosky, the very same evil bitch that justified locking Halsey away, she did more harm to all those children than anyone else, bar none. But she is not judged, she was not scrutinized for what she did wrong, and in the end she is glorified as a quasi saint.

And in the end, Halsey had grief, she had regret, she knew from the start it was wrong, and she had regret the whole time, but she did it for the greater good....

  • #4.....greater evil that could ever be preformed, Halsey created supersoldiers selectively based on prime genes that would work the best, given the best training, the best medical care possible, in spite of being rushed into the augmentation stage seen in "the fall of reach", and when all was said and done, they received the best gear that the UNSC could produce.

Not to mention that only 75 children were chosen from the II program, as opposed to hundreds being taken for the III program.......

  • #3.....I say that she was the lesser of all evils because she did the program with her spartans expecting them to be the best that could be made of them, that they could have long full lives and ultimately they could do more to help humanity than the would as common people, the argument is one sided in that Ackersons project the Spartan-IIIs were designed to be suicide soldiers, taken without special care, had there brains scrambled, and sent to die at a very young age. That by far, is the......

  • #2 .....justifications, but in this case I believe its fair to say that she did them a favor in the long run, sure, she put them through hell, she took what normal lives they could have had and dropped them into a world of death and pain, and under these circumstances they were better off in the long run, I have to make it clear that situational justice is wrong, so ultimately what she did was horrible, but at least they were allow to have full lives, even filled with death and pain....

  • #1 I want to find the official review board and bring up a few things there, but as for this, here are my primary thoughts.

First of all, I dont like the one sided attitude against Dr Halsey, I have read almost all the books thus far, so I am not ignorant on these subjects, the whole time they were totally unfair with Halsey, sure, what she did was wrong, but she was the lesser of all evils, the arguments that Mendez put up was crap from the start, I dont normally allow room for situational....

  • It was good, I just didn't like how she potrayed the spartants as so emitional, and doing things they would never do, (Namoi taking off her helmet when on top of Rul, hugging, and just taking off the helmet so much)

  • @miniamp117 That was my 1st negative remark about this book. I agree. I'd add the fact that in the previous books Spartans had a very dry/direct military way of speaking. It was only amongst themselves that they were loose. Naomi doesn't even know these people and she's holding conversations and even expressing her feelings. All in all it realy is a good read.

  • so glass lands is the first book of a trilogy?

  • @zxaviusLOL Yep. Ghosts of Onyx can be considered as a prequel to the trilogy.

  • @zxaviusLOL It better be, the book ends on a cliff hanger that just kills me, they have to make more, and I hope with another author, Nylund was the best of them all, he should do all the others.

  • Good books dont u think?

  • did u like harvest and that cole's protocol

  • @mbrennan27 I still have to read those ones.

  • Hey i haven't read the book but you said something in the review that intrigued me and that was that the elites may assassinate the arbiter, can someone message me to say if the arbiter dies, I just really want to know :)

  • Not a bad review, probably a good idea to finish the book before posting a review but still enjoyable :)

I've put up my own review, you should check it out :D

  • At first i was very disapointed to hear that this book wasnt being written by Eric Nyland, but after reading this I would have to say that Karrin Travis did a pretty good job at staying with the main series.

  • @BulletformySixxam Lol that book made a mockery of established halo canon.

  • ...and the entire reason as to why Truth ordered their excommunication and subsequent extermination but unfortunately not. I guess this is what happens with authors who do not properly research their source material.

  • It ignored the shifting zeitgeist within the Elites - that gave rise to the Schism in the first place - so that we could get a 400 page novel that essentially beats over the dead horse by giving much of what we have already become familiar with at the start of the war. It was sort of apparent to me that we would see the changes in mindset occur that reflect the actions of the Elites in Halo 3...

  • im nearly finished it. brilliant book. Travis did a great job with the S III'S and Mendez. There's a lot of soul searching in this one as well. 10/10. :)

  • Hey foreign dzadzai do you want to send me a private message or something cause I just finished the book and I really need someone to talk to who finished it on what they thinker happened at the very end cause my heads spinning!

  • @algreen121 Well, I'm not exactly the best person for book analysis but I would recommend you visit the bungie forums and maybe the 343 ones as well. I remember when Cryptum came out there was an amazing amount of discussion on the forums. You would definitely enjoy that. I'm sure there'll be discussions about this book too.

  • @ForeignDzadzai Thanks for the info!

  • loved the book but what i don't like about is how the elites talk about humans lie and kill on another and how they act like the humans are the only ones that do that kinda stuff but then they're plotting behind the arbiters back to kill him.....isn't that the same thing?

  • @algreen121 Well, the reason the Elites want the Arbiter dead is because he teamed up with the humans and ridiculed the "Gods". That's a shameful act for them and I guess they will not allow someone like that to live. The humans are just being best at what humans do and that's be evil and always strive to be on top no matter what needs to be done. So the intentions for killing are different but yeah I guess hypocrisy is present in both races.

  • its halo 4 book

  • @DiepSpartan119 Well, it's leading up to Halo 4, you could say that.

  • @ForeignDzadzai oh okay im kind of confused because i was just getting more halo books and reading them all so yeah try to understand it

  • @DiepSpartan119 Oh nice that sounds fun! Ghosts of Onix and Glasslands take place after Halo 3. If I'm not mistaken, Ghosts of Onix may start off during Halo 3 events but I'm not 100% since I havn't read that yet. It would be helpful if there was a list that shows what timeline each book takes place in, it would make it easier for those getting into the books.

  • @ForeignDzadzai Sweet i almost collect whole halo books until jan 2012 when that new halo book comes out i will making a videoof it andyou'll will see how i speak about he halo stoy and showing my collections so yeah wait until jan 31 or feb 2 2012 maybe?

  • @ForeignDzadzai i will get the last halo book in jan 2012 until it comes out and i will make a video of it and share everybody in youtube how i talk about the story u'll see it

  • @DiepSpartan119 Yeah for sure, go ahead and do it! I'll be looking forward to it!

  • I though the book was pretty good, i still wanna learn more about the Sangheili and im hoping that 'Telcam doesn't assassinate Arby. But i just don't understand why people hate the book all because it shows that halsey's spartan program back handed her with all the Child abduction and Cloning

  • I thought the book was amazing. I really did enjoy Nylunds books and I really was pissed when I found out she was writing the book but it turned out to be an amazing addition to the story. It added MUCH more character depth than previous books and the dialogue was very good and the humor was on point. It's been a long time since I've read a book and actually laughed out loud from the dialogue.

  • @jamminjimmy4545 lol I think you might be the first to have a positive review on the video here, so congrats! I too liked the amount of depth the characters got. I thought the arc regarding Jul was pretty interesting considering how in depth his story was at first up until he poked his nose where he shouldn't have. I'm just hoping it wasn't a waste and it suddenly turns out he was useless!

  • @ForeignDzadzai at first I was a bit put off like other people about the Halsey character and even the other Spartans but at the same time. It really made everyone seem much more human and I really felt like the characters felt much more like real people versus what they were in the previous books. She's signed on for like a 3 books deal so people better get used to her.

  • @jamminjimmy4545 I could have dealt with a lot more human. I cant deal with a spartan physically assaulting dr halsey while her two's stand around watching mendez coddle her. wtf?!

  • This book was garbage. Fuck Karen Traviss. Way to fuck over Halo fans everywhere.

  • @justforthelulzzz Hmm doesn't seem you're too happy with the way the novels are heading lately judging on your comment on here and on the Cryptum video. Probably even more frustrating that no future books have been announced with different authors.

  • @ForeignDzadzai Sorry to contradict but its not just him. A lot of people are bitter about this book, include me in that category. This author did much to undermine the spartans and character assassination of Dr Halsey. At times I had to stop reading it out of frustration. It was as if the author had a personal vendetta against the character. I dont know who allowed this to go to print, but ive been a loyal fan since xbox launched with this shooter and the novels have been ruined for me...

  • @ds2vet Thanks for your thoughts. I havn't read all of the novels like I should have, so the butchering of Halsey's character hasn't really affected me much. That being said, I should definitely hurry up and read the books I've missed out on because right now I feel pretty stupid for liking this when there's a large amount of people who are pretty disappointed for what seems to be a big issue.

  • @ForeignDzadzai No worries, This certainly wasnt the first book to read though and "butchering" was an understatement. Halsey was scapegoated by everyone who had more blood on their hands than her. She discovered the damn dyson sphere in Ghosts of onyx regardless of her intention; and yet the person who sanctioned her S2 program and the person who helped use her work to create "disposable heroes" (also sanctioned bythe same individual) were allowed to degrade/attack her throught the entire book.

  • @ForeignDzadzai ...have been ruined for me. I intend to stick around for more games and the rest of Greg Bears novels but im done after that. I already had been pissed at the canon discrepencies in reach the game but this new book's approach to the halsey character was just ridiculous. I agree with justforthelulz and his colorful expletives. If I could tell this author that to her face I would. Better yet id just like to strike the entire book from the official canon.

  • @ds2vet the good news is greg is helping to write the halo 4 story so yea something to look forward too

  • Read contact harvest an amazing book imo

  • @Dahellraider I've been meaning to get that book for a while now. I'm just going by the cover but since Johnson is on the cover does that mean it's heavily focused on him?

  • awsome reveiw dude, i cant wait to get this book, do you have xbox live? would be cool to chat about halo :D

  • @Lisa7C Thanks! And sadly no xbox live for me!

  • Canadians a

  • Reason is simple: I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE ARG!

  • @SoldierDucky lol well fair enough. Still though, just wait for that book, I'm sure it's with you by now anyways. Knowing the ending of this one pretty much makes everything beforehand useless. Unless you're interested in reading about character development and what not.

  • You sound like you are from Charlie the unicorn that is really really high on weed or something honestly! But I sort of wished that this video would have spoilers for the ending. But nevertheless this vid is a good teaser!

    Grr, faster amazon!

  • @SoldierDucky lol thanks for the interesting comment. Yeah I avoided spoilers because I'm sure some people would have gotten angry. If you're waiting for amazon to ship you the book why do you want to be spoiled anyways??

  • damn i need this book i have already decided to goe up to a book store and buy a copy hope its out in australia

  • Ah dude, I got my copy 1 day before you :) I got the Hard cover version though. Nice video btw

  • @LifeLongGamer Thanks! Yeah I watched your video and I was very jealous since you ordered it from amazon. I pre-ordered Halo Cryptum from amazon but didn't get it until a week and a half after the book was released. I didn't want to go through that again. Other than Cryptum, I've never seen a Halo novel in hard cover form in any bookstore yet. I wonder if there's a reason for that.

  • @ForeignDzadzai Cryptum was to my knowledge the first Halo novel released in hard cover. ive heard lots of people mentioning that amazon are bad for preorders but I seem to do quite well with them so far. Also, im gonna go with first class delivery on alot of my stuff from now on :) I must say that I prefer the hard cover versions as they generally look much better, especially for display purposes. Btw dude, Ive subbed :) great video's :D

  • the thing about this book is that nothing fucking happens.

    they talk, and they plan.

then it gets interesting in the last 50 pages, then it ends.

  • @douboymkIII Thats why its a trilogy :p

  • Are there any brutes in?

  • @SWMINIS Yep! They are more like very minor characters though.

  • semi spoiler alert ....I hated this book...... It was boring.... the characters were way off from what they were in the previous books.... and for some reason... fred was in charge but he didnt show it in my opinion. and it really didnt feel like traviss didnt know enough about the material...

  • I felt that all 3 Halo books by eric nylund are must reads, they're definitely really good to read

  • Halo: First Strike is a MUST READ!

It's a direct sequel to Halo Reach.

Detailing Spartan Blue Team's fight for Reach,

and the Master Chief's return to Earth.

  • @nodice88 Exactly what I thought. I should definitely read that book some time.

  • Fall of reach is clearly the best (:
