Well I'm 14 I never owned a 5th gen console until about a few weeks ago when I got the N64 but until 2002 I only had the Megadrive (English Genesis) And this game was one of the ones I played the most and I still play it to this day. Plus I've never beaten it.

So, I used to rent this game all the time when I was five years old, and when emulators came out, I could NEVER figure out what this game was called to download. So, today, I just randomly stumbled upon it, and basically, I'm stoked to play it.

I agree with the review except that it is not playable today. I think it is as compeling as Super Meat Boy! Then again I'm part of GameBlox which is making the unofficial remake of the game, so I'm biased.

This was one of my friends favorite games back in the day, he was the one on the block that had the Sega Genesis and I had the Super NES. Back then I was a Nintendo fanboy, but now that im older I simply love and respect the Sega Genesis much more, and I own about 100 Genesis games, and about 5 or 6 Super NES. Sega Genesis was and is a very powerful and underestimated console. :)

This game scared the crap out of me when I was 6. Everything yelled "Die", the swamp level title screens, and obscure enemy designs. I can't tell you enough about how much the murder wall scared me. The thing is, I love this game. You can play it a thousand times and always take a different path. I never had a problem with the controls, it feels just like any mario game. And the levels are some of the funnest that I think I've ever played on the genesis.

I highly recommend.

Fuck I love this game. I can still happily play it. I would love to see a XBLA version in the same style, don't need to change anything, just new levels and maybe some more characters. I don't have any problems with this game so don't really agree with his comments in the review.
