oh interesting... but honestly... what is really going on is that the old tv bands were regulated to digital signals only because you can transmit 8 digital signals on the same bandwidth as one anolog signal so what you are probably getting is bleed over.. also you get people who pirate open bands for kicks... and if you are close to either canada or mexico then you could easily be picking up old style tv broad casts...

Emergency Band traffic should still be in their old bwdths methinks; check the action at 8:42 'n' up. that oscillation is familiar (mebe, this gets into some hairy tinitus-v-neural conditioning space) from a couple of ham radio intercepts...
i should run the whole thing through the VisWave suite. i was hoping some techy would bite on this and drop science, but....
