  • so say we all

  • One of the best battles of this series.

  • My personal favorite scene up until Apollo's speech on the stand during Baltar's trial at the end of season 3.

  • @Kujakuseki01 I was just thinking that! Apollo's speech was one of the highlights of this show, legit.

  • Does anyone have a translation of this?

  • @cschrie1 , the translation would be : Wander my friends, wander with me Like the mist on the green mountain, moving eternally Despite our weariness, we'll follow the road Over hills and valleys, to the end of the journey Come on my friends and sing with me Fill the night with joy and sport Here's a health to the friends who have gone from us Like the mist of the green mountain, gone forever Great music, great show. I cry almost each time I listen to this !
  • @Samatsu44x what language is this? thanks for the translation, I'm sure many will be grateful like me!

  • @mewkelliemew this is Irish ! ;)

  • @Samatsu44x Im pretty sure this is Gaelic.

  • @Jallarballar oops, sorry o__o

Okay, I wasn't sure for Irish xD

    Thank you ^^

  • @Samatsu44x Ah thank you!

  • This is one of the best songs from the entire series. My fav is Prelude to War.

  • Funny Deatil: In German sub Doc Cottle is subbed by the same Man who subbed Homer Simpson^^

  • Galactica -Cavil and Caprica-Cavil have Youtube-Accounts and dislike cause of the destruction of the Refinery^^

  • By Irish songs I mean Boolevogue, Carrickfergus, etc. I think those are Irish anyway

  • @GrissomLovesSara Of course they are Irish

  • So say we all!

  • "I'll bring it back, dad"

"You better. I'll kick your ass. That's a good lighter."

  • @Helljumper425 Wrong scene

  • @eaglesguy2036 I know. It's just that scene when Lee tosses the lighter back to his father sparks that moment in your head. That father-son bond, that promise he made, expressed wonderfully in that episode.

  • This song sounds just like the song in "Black Hawk Down" Minstral Boy (Film Version) but this one is in another language of course, great music :D

  • when dose this play? i can't fraking remember!!

  • @Ryagful season 1, forget which episode but they just took out the cylon mine and everyone had something to be happy about for one of the only times in the series.

  • @JediNg135 yes, but the Name ist right? im german, i dfont really know, God's Hand or The Hand of God?

  • @eaglesguy2036 Season One, Episode 7, "The Hand of God", with "Scar" one of my faves^^

  • @Bennymiles scar wasnt in season one?

  • @TheInFormer500 No. scar is season two, episode 15. I said, this two episodes are my favorites, for all seasons i ment^^

  • Whats that theme they play in the episode "Black Market"? It's the one when they show Lee with Shivon on caprica before the fall.

  • Great soundtrack, for the best TV show ever.

  • Kind of like Titanic...

  • Reminds me Minstrel Boys from the Black Hawk Down Soundtrack

  • @JeKeScy Hey you're right, it's really similar to Joe Strummer's Minstrel Boy

  • I tear up every damn time I hear this song.

  • @darthteej1 You know what scares me? Have you seen McCreay play the accodian?>

  • i find it hard to jerk off to this music

  • This sounds almost exactly like the credits song from Black Hawk Down.

  • this is almost like the song in brave heart

  • Hmm this sound's bit like Minstrel Boy. Some may recall Minstrel Boy from end credits of Black Hawk Down. This sound's cool :P

  • What language is this?

  • Where can i get them all? Theyre all amazing. Looks like i cant find them on Itunes... :(

  • i imagine myself sitting in my viper waiting for the launch command, listening to this song in a colonial version of an mp3 player.

or when celebrating with everybody about something else in the galley.

or sadly seeing a fallen war buddy ceremoniously through the airlock.

  • SO SAY WE ALL!!!!

  • this song reminds me of the song during the credits of Black Hawk Down (great movie). man i wish any of the new shows on tv could compare to BSG, just not possible i think.

  • we miss you kara!

  • how could anyone dislike this, an why?

  • @ThePoe537 They must be Cylons. . . .Toasters or Skinjobs is the question.

  • This song made me all teary in the the episode where they reveal that the Blackbird was going to be named after Laura Roslin.

  • @helllkeeper Dude I cried...

  • @helllkeeper wat sucks is about a few days later it explodes........poor cheif his hard work gone to waste....

  • SO SAY WE ALL!!!!!

  • LOVE this one!

  • Seo libh a chairde is canaidh liom

Lionaigi’n oiche le greann is le sport

Seo slainte na gcarad ata imithe uainn

    Mar cheo an tsleibhe uaine,

    iad imithe go deo

  • Siulaigi a chairde, siulaidh liom

Mar cheo an tsleibhe uaine ag

    imeacht go deo

D’ainneoin ar dtuirse leanfam an tsli

    Thar chnoic is thar ghleannta

  • which episode did they play this music in

  • Comment removed

  • @chrismcnuggett

Off the top of my head, Exodus, Pt.1 and Daybreak, Pt. 1.

  • @sminturn1987 is there any episodes from season 1

  • @chrismcnuggett "The Hand of God", specifically after the attack on the mining base.

  • Finished watching BSG yesterday. The best goddam serie ever.

  • 5 episodes left till the end of BSG for me (i bought the DVD's)

Season 4 has been one of the best.

  • the song reminds me of black hawk down "the minstral boy" it sounds good

  • I want lyricless version of this song but not A Good Lighter. I like the drums at the begining.

  • What kind of music instrument starts playing at 0.13??

  • @F4Wildcat its ither uillean pipes or bagpipes

  • It's Gaelic, the old language of Celtic Ireland! Quite a musical language, more so than English.

  • @Ancalagon001 Actually Gaelic was once referred to as 'The British Language' because it wasn't just spoken in Ireland, but across the whole of the British islands, right up untill the 1400's in fact

  • @weldonwin Gaelic had and has several regional dialects, it spread into Scotland with given the exchange of people and culture between northern Ireland and Scotland over the centuries, but I dont think it spread further than that in Britain. No doubt there was other Celtic languages in Britain, but Welsh might be closer than Gaelic to those.

  • @JonWilde2105

It actually made it to the Americas durinf the 18th and 19th C - Newfoundland and Pensylvania for Irish, and Nova Scotia for Scots-Gaelic. . but only survived a couple of generations there- the last propper native speakers dying about the middle of the 20th C. - though there are still some "half-speakers" about I'm told. Also Scots-Gaelic has become so different from Irish in the last few hundred years that its now considdered a seperate language, not a dialect anymore

  • @weldonwin Níl aon focail nó frasa againn i nGaeilge ar "British Islands" -níl ach frasa Béarla é sin.

Anyway...... I made a nice video for this song on my channel if anyone wants to have a glance.

  • Brilliant song. Along with the versions "Reuniting the fleet" and a good ligther

what kind of language is this though?

  • A very good theme... so impressive

  • i love it ; )

  • Go cylons ")

  • love this song

  • What has Wander my friends to do with monotheistic propaganda in this show or the final dialog between Inner Six and Inner Baltar?

  • Yeah,WTF did that have to do with the show anyways?

  • Still brings tears to my eyes.

  • silly me... sillly, silly me ....

  • You know it doesn't like that name

  • I would love to hear this song played on a piano.

  • Irish music is the best in this world - it's gutwrenching

  • @GrissomLovesSara Stomach-turningly saccharine for the most part

  • @GrissomLovesSara

    No, it isn't.

  • @GrissomLovesSara I think you mean Scottish music is the best, when it comes to battle scenes at least, Irish is more likely to be in a cheerful pub.

  • Galactica the finest spaceship to ever set sail on Gods great creation.

  • You know he doesn't like that name.

    Hahaha. I just had to.

  • God does not mind to be called god. What should we it then. it,he,she the universe

  • @UNsoldierLieutenant existence?

  • God is what humans call it.

  • @Shadowsonggg

You made me laugh, good one!

  • Clearly you don't remember/haven't seen the end of the show, where Angel Six mentions something about god and Angel Baltar says "You know it doesn't like that name"

  • i love the lyrics...its so happy and fulfilling. The story of BSG is certainly one of enduring hope, faith, and perseverance .

  • And also forgivness

  • I love this song! Love the Irish Gaelic lyrics! So amazing and powerful!

  • ::Tips a 40 ounce for the colonies and the crews::

  • That's fracking awesome!!!!

  • Eillean pipes lol

    and irish!!!!

    cool

always thought this had a feeling of a small nation against a larger evil empire.

    Ireland and england.

  • This reminds me of..damn what was the name..isn't there a lyricless one? of this one?

  • A Good Lighter.

  • "You better bring it back or i'll kick your ass!" Thats a dam good lighter. -sips cup of joe-

  • There's "A Good lighter"; "Reuniting the Fleet"; "Admiral and Commander" just to name a few versions of the unofficial theme to the series.

Bear says that this was originally supposed to represent the Adama family and not much thought went into it beyond that. But thanks to the fans, it took on a life of its own and now we all look at it as one of the defining compostitions of the show.

  • @AresVallis And reunting the fleet

  • @AresVallis , "Reuniting the Fleet" also has the same basic tune, except instrumental.

  • I did not see any of this series until after my wife kicked me out of the house this past New Years Day. I moved in with my daughter since I had nowhere to else to go. The day after I move in with her she is watching a couple of episodes on her computer on Hulu. I saw those two episodes and got hooked. I went to Blockbuster and rented everything from the mini-series on.

I caught up and watched the last Frakin' Episodes on SciFi!

  • I hope you and your wife have worked things out though =]

  • Not gonna happen. She already has another guy and everything. But I get to watch one of the the greatest love stories ever now.

  • @JediNg135 SO SAY WE ALL

  • Hope your life follows the noble path mate. All the best.

  • So.... Are you back with the wife? If so, thank her for kicking you out so you could discover the show ;o)

  • @Raving

I've gotten the New Years morning kick to the curb too

Stay strong, shit get's better eventually

  • This song is oddly fitting for your situation, if you know what the lyrics mean.

  • @Kerikath

so please tell me what the lyrics mean

    i don't understand any word

  • @Sheppard009

The song is basically saying, "wander the grassy, sunny fields of the afterlife my friends, sport and carouse in the dusk of death, and I'll meet you again sometime."

  • @Kerikath

Wander my friends, wander with me

Like the mist on the green mountain, moving eternally

Despite our weariness, we'll follow the road

Over hills and valleys, to the end of the journey

Come on my friends and sing with me

Fill the night with joy and sport

Here's a health to the friends who have gone from us

Like the mist of the green mountain, gone forever

  • @Raving

Same here bro, close to the damn same.

Best show ever, I would rather have BSG than my ex any day.

  • @Raving Maybe its just the misogynist in me but I think thats bullshit. It should be us kicking their bitch asses out of OUR houses not the other way around.

It should be them sleeping on the couch.

They aren't better than us. They want equality right? Well equality means all the time, not just when they want a job. Fuck em.

  • @Shadowmourne07 yeah, sounds like the misogynist in you.

  • @Raving its always the woman that kick us out and divorce us. yet they still complain about equal rights and shit like that, if woman were so called equal to men then this woud'nt happen so bloody often. hope you work it out still although your comment is 1 year old

  • Sounds very Irish

  • Celtic. The feeling I get from the Colonials

  • Its Irish Gaelic.

  • The most amazing drama I have ever seen and the soundtracks are so unique, I have never seen anything like it, I have all the box sets except for the final season which will be out in June in the UK.

  • I think i'm going to get the last (for me in Canada, the 4.5 box set) on regular DVD and the entire series on blu-ray as well =|

I agree. Part of the reason I like the soundtracks so much is because it has such unique sounds and they seem to fit too. Plus the story behind each of the pieces (since I adore this show)

  • ive heard some folk say that season 1 music is not as good as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ... well they should listen to this tune ! i mean they used it for the end of the Galactica in the final episode (sniff :( ) so its just brilliant

  • My overall favourite soundtrack so far has got to be season 2

  • I got chills listening to this.

  • Always :)

  • It chokes me up.

  • The scene in which this song is played has got to be the happiest moment for the characters in the entire course of the show. That or the end of Colonial Day, but I vote this one (mostly because Hand of God is the first BSG episode I ever caught, accidentally, channel surfing, loved it so much I went to buy all of season one the next day and was hooked from that day forward)

  • thats a great way to be hooked lol i just picked up the miniseries randomly in a shop in aberdeen and was hooked :D mind i was a bit clueless to when the next series was to be out lol wasnt till 2006 and season 2 that i got on track

  • Yeah.. for me it was going to the video store one rainy summer afternoon between semesters of law school. Watched the pilot hoping it wasn't gonna be cheesy like the original series. Cut to me at the store the very next day renting season one. 3 years later I own the DVDs to every season as well as the HD-DVD set for season 1. Great show. We won't see another one like anytime soon, if ever.

  • It started when I saw my dad had taped the first half of season two. I was all like "WTF?!" for the first few episodes, but by the time I got to Pegasus, I was understanding everything. I went through that whole season without seeing a single episode of the 1st. Confusing, I know.

  • its funny how as this show ends (prematurely i think with the rushed story of season 4 and convenient ending to fit with a few of the long standing prophecy stuff) we are all thinking how we first got interested in it in the first place .. *sniff* GOD I WILL MISS THIS STORY and re-experience it for years to come i reckon ...

  • I love this show to pieces. I can't' imagine it ever getting to a place where I wouldn't want to do my own marathons and watch entire seasons days at a time lol.

  • @WordoftheSenate Oh God, I know...I started watching in season four. ROFL. Everyone was shooting everyone, and so and so did something at some point, but now so and so is dead anyways, so whatever. And now this guy is a schitzo, but he isn't, but he might be, but actually nobody knows that yet anyways. I barely understood a fourth of what was happening the first few episodes, still haven't seen seasons 2 and 3.

  • In what episode is this played?

    I can't seem to remember...

  • Hand of God. Season one, episode ten.

  • That was fast O.O

    Thanks!

  • Lol I was in the area =p

  • Yay they played a part of this in tonights episode when Adama was packing up his office! Hope we get to hear it next week too!

  • what language is that?

  • Gaelic

  • Is that Davey Spillane on the pipes? Bloody magical.

  • When i first heard this, I was like "This is the perfect ending music". I hope it's used over the final moments of the last episode of S4. It's the perfect end music for BSG.

The new Ewok celebration song from Return of the Jedi SpEd, "To the Stars" from Dragonheart and B5's "Sleeping in Light" suite all evoke the same feelings for me. All of them have that "happy, but sad" ending feel, just as Wander my Friends does.

So i say "wander my friends" is the perfect ending song for BSG.

  • amazing! i had the same association! you're absolutely right!
