  • shut up an just drink it an enjoy it

  • Tried the 16yo and it's one helluva fine whisky. But...$120 in Ontario!

  • I'm just trying the Scapa 16yr. and your 'tinned pear' smell observation was just the description I was looking for! I haven't had tinned pear for years! There are a lot of sweet smells in there, I'm getting a whiff baked potato too. It's an amazing whisky, and a surprisingly long finish too, for such light flavours.

  • MICHAEL!!!!MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!!!!! would you get off your ass and do a review on something,,,cmon man ,,,i miss ur videos,,i watched them all and u just stopped???

  • Be very careful jamming your nose right in the glass like that... little sniffs

  • All your whisky videos are fantastic. When will you post a new one?

  • yes the brother is called highland park

and you could call it the BIGGER brother since their whiskey is (according to me) a very nice whiskey..

I love your other vids on single malts.. keep up the good work ..

  • was that nakamura ? if it was then he ate ma dog.

  • This guy is fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Scapa is the best whisky by far. Lovely stuff. (in my opinion)

  • hey mike... u should set another clock on top or next to ur camera and set it for three minutes so u wont cut out on the youtubers...lol

  • Good shirt, dude!!

  • Thanks! Very old jersey and...I wouldn't dare to wear in Ibrox!

  • @michaelyblam lol very nice videos and nice shirt :D

  • I am amazed - all these whisky specialists in here.... :-(

  • I like your reviews, but you need to put a wee splash of water into your whisky. It brings out the complexity of the flavours.

  • I always put a dash of water in cask strength whiskies but 40-43-46% I sometimes would. It all depends on the taste I get from it. Many whiskies naturally releases it's bouquet / aroma without the need to add water but adding water is an alchemy exercise - sometimes it works other times not much difference. One thing: I never add ice to whiskies.

  • I totally agree with you. That's the best way. Also, the water has to be on roomtemperature. A lot of people know that ice isn't a good addition to a whisky, but people make the mistake using water coming right out of the fridge. In other words: it's far to cold.

  • "What about Glenlivet. This is also a great scotch whisky... great on the rocks"

  • What about Glenlivet. This is also a great scotch whisky... great on the rocks

  • Glenlivet is OK. It's has a good floral and fruity nose. It's good but not in the top league. For non-peaty single malts try MaCallan, Balvenie, Dalmore etc. Many of these are finished with sherry casks that imparts sweet, buttery, winey taste that newcomers understand. The peaty whiskies are NOT for everyone. This BIG boys of the peat monster category would be Laphroaig, Ardbeg and Lagavulin.

  • Also, you can see Glenlivet being reviewed by me at youtube.

  • The Scapa 14 resembles the Glenlivet 12 in its floralness and some ripe fruit tones. Scapa wins on sophistication - the grassy, organic notes come through in a fascinating spectrum. I'm not getting the "dark chocolate" from my dram, but the review here is otherwise compatible with my own.

  • Glennfidick is a great wiskey

  • I somewhat disagree as I think Glenfiddich is the one the worst. It's quite volatile and simple in taste.

  • Hello Peed, upon taking your comments, I just retasted it right away and the pear taste was right there. Nothing change. It's great that we are allowed to disagree!!! Thank you for your honest comments. Slainte mhath!

  • i live in orkney and that scapa whiskey doesnt have any pear taste at all this doesnt hav a clue

  • Oh ffs why the celtic top?? At least wear a Rangers 1 next time.

  • Yeah I just discovered Michael, I makes me taste everything now. Before I would just slam my beer while scorching up youtube. I drink many NW style beers, living in the NW we have about 300 breweries that I know of. Basically the region is NorCal,thru Oregon,Washington,British Columbia to Alaska. Also in our region on our east side of the PACNW is Montana breweris, Idaho and Okonagen Valley from Washington northward to British Columbia. Cheers.

  • It's is a good thing to chase beer with a Scotch/Irish whisky/whiskey. In order to do that, you need a somewhat malty beer with little/no hop like a Scotch ale and a wee dram of anything your desire. It's heavenly. I sometimes drink a glass of beer before dinner, then have some wine and finish the evening with a tiny dram of whisky - sweet dreams!

  • It's fun to watch these. As a matter of fact, it makes me thirsty...

  • Thanks! I have been quiet for over 3 weeks due to various reasons. I will be back soon with more videos as I am like you, always thirsty! Stay tuned :)

  • Brilliant! I love how you always get cut off at 2:57. DONT EVER GET A CAMERA WITH MORE MEMORY! It is the best part of the tasting. Seriously. So Dogme 95.
