Oh my gosh, I remember this storm very well. I was living in Biloxi at the time and I remember wondering if the storm would ever end! It was a nightmare.. Had a decent amount of damage also. Thanks for posting these!
I was stuck at Keesler during this hurricane as I was in training there at the time. There was an unofficial wind gust of 172 mph...after that 125 mph wind gust.
Yeah I live in Gulfport and was stuck under the western eyewall for hrs when it stalled...seemed like it would never end!! I think I heard that 172 mph gust was thrown out because of the type of anemometer that recorded it wasn't reliable because it was contaminated by the heavy rainfall.
I was there too! It delayed my graduation from tech school and caused me to be several days late for leaving Keesler. However, if I hadn't been delayed, I am almost certain I wouldn't be married to my husband of 10 years now! :)

Gusts can cause structural damage to the buildings.

I remember watching near-non-stop coverage of this, back when I was a young'un. Ah, those were the days.

Yep, I remember watching Hurricanes Gordon in 2000, Lili in 2002, Isabel in 2003, and Rita in 2005 cause those storms caused threats to my city.

I've heard the beeping during severe weather here in texas, in missouri, and half of my time in maryland.

I like the beeping better on WS 4000 better than the loud annoying one on IntelliStar. If i know its gonna beep i just mute it.

Great clip. Not often do you get to see the Weather STAR 4000's warning crawl and Stu Ostro being an OCM!
