Marquez' jab kept throwing Vasquez' head back allowing for the set up with combos, that's what allowed his victory. He traded with Vasquez and paid for it, again as we will see in the next fights. Also, notice that when Marquez goes low, he hits Vasquez below the belt alotta times, and the ref did not catch it. He's not as fine tuned as his brother, but great start to a great trilogy!

Yea i know. Not one punch was low. They were all beltline. and they were spread out. That kind of ref shouldnt be reffing that high profile of a fight. WHen you have body punchers some punches stray a little low or on the belt line. There was no bad intention on any thrown by Marquez, and like i said before, they were all on the belt. The fight should of ended in a draw. Thats why guys like Steve Smoger are respected.

If they would just give to minutes during Sportscenter to talk Vazquez V Marquez or Cotto V Margarito that would help "save" boxing. just watched these. i have the trilogy on dvd. outstanding fighters. marquez seems technically better but has stamina issues. vasquez is the more powerful but gets hit more often. i was amazed the pace these guys set from the first bell. true warriors.
