hey bro i was wondering, what kind of plants would i have to worry about roots tearing the liner and also, is there any possible way that submersible plants like elodea and lilies and etc. would punch the liner? i think i'm gonna put everything in pots this year to be safe.
@samuelwaynefoleyjr Hey Samuel, thanks for checking out the pond videos. If you are using 45mil EPDM liner there is not many plants, if any, that are going to puncture a liner that thick. I have been building ponds for 16 years and even though I have heard of plants like bamboo puncturing liners I have never personally witnessed it so it must be pretty rare. I keep most plants in their containers and hide the containers with rockwork. Visit me on facebookcomthepondhunter

Hey Gig, that we be me! I am aware that I probably butchered a couple of the names, hopefully not all of them, but I am trying to correct that. Japanese is not my first language but I give it my best try. I don't mean to offend anyone and I am open to anyone who'd like to help me with the correct pronunciation. I am sure your Japanese is better than mine, but even at my best and proper pronunciation it will probably fall very short of how the true pronunciation is!
Hi. I didn't mean to offend you in any way. I'm sure it sounded like a smart a-- remark. I didn't mean for it to.
Maybe you would like to join me at my site I have built and trying to get going. You will find it at WaterGardenVista. Well, just add the extension that I am not allowed to add.
You bet this is open to the public and held every year. There are several of these shows around the country just about year round. to my disappointment I missed this years show as I had family obligations.....oh well, next year.. Are you gonna go or what!
Well, i live in the central valley of California, are there any shows here locally? Oh and how much is the typical entrance fee? I would really like to go and buy some koi for my koi pond that i just partially finished!
chekc out the webiste for Kodama koi, they are in California and they show alot all over, so there should be some listing of Cali shows. Entrance fees very, but this particular show is $15.00. I missed it this year unfortunately.
I don't know exactly which fish you are referring ot however, it could be Ogon or maybe a Kohaku you are speaking of. Let me know if I can help any more..
Excuse my spelling but I think you are speaking of the HikariMoyo. Very nice fish!! I have one that I rescued and only half of it's dorsal fin is intact, but it is big and beautiful!
I agree, it was very difficult not to touch them. And the chagoi you just want to pick him up and carry him around with you; but that would not go over too well!
awesome video i have to say though i love koi and comets and sarasas but i hate the look of the fish you showed close to the end all of them weird fish like the ones which are real fat and big eyes and no top fin they look way to weird lol
Hey, haven't heard from you lately!! those chubby bug eyed strange fish are definately and acquired taste. In the countries where those fish types originated they believe that deformity is a type of beauty, and the breeders go to great lengths to produce these specialized varieties. I gotta say, if you ever have a chance to keep any of these guys, try them, they grow on you and are actually very cool fish, although maybe not at first sight!! Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.......
hmm they seem like they might have a good personality but they wont do good in my tanks or my pond because 1 of my tanks has very fast running water my other tank is not currently having no other fish because it has my baby goldfish in it and i dont want to take the chance of bringing any diseases to my tank and my pond is way to cold for them so i couldnt possibly have them at the moment my nan has some though and she loves them lol
Awesome. Looks like someone could have used a few salads back then.

very nice pond hunter i wish you could have shown that rock pond alittle longer im trying to duplicate it
tonmagicwon 2 years ago
Hi. the type of rock used is a "Pennsylvania wall stone". The variety is a mix of thick cut wall stone and slab stone...hope that helps!
thePondHunter 2 years ago
Looks like they also used indian field stone.
