  • Great video!

  • Great job its good to see your videos are starting to get more popular, keep it up the great work it will help all of us next halloween,

  • @fragsxr750 Glad you are enjoying them. I am learning a ton making them.

  • Thanks, this is awesome!

  • Actually, screw a corpse. This is how I'm doing my scarecrow next year! Doing a big, balls to the wall Halloween decoration yard haunt next year, with me as Michael Myers(this year is Scream/Ghostface). Can't wait to get started!

  • @TheBatman1939 Did you see my halloscarecrow video? it is a full scarecrow from garbage bags.

  • @StiltbeastStudios Absolutely! And it's great, but the Scarecrow in my head has a skeletal, rotting body like the corpse in this video. Definitely a great Scarecrow using just the trashbags though!

  • Awesome video. I am going to do this, this year:-) Where do I find your glue gun?

  • This is amazing, thank you so much for the tutorial. Makes me want to throw up looking at it, which obviously shows it's an amazing piece. Well done.

  • Amazing. It actually creeped me out. When it comes time for me to need decaying bodies in my yard, I'm so doing this.

  • I'm going to try that, looks REALLY good, I'm going to add some jute underneath the plastic, like veins...see how that looks ;-) thanks for creating your videos and sharing :-)

  • Tried this out for Halloween and it worked like a charm - even with a self build skeleton. Just now I tried out the same method to make a quick and dirty leather bound book. Works as a charm! So, this is just as good for quick tomes and grimoires. Thanks!

  • @badmynock I use the technique a lot myself. i have made wings, corpses, alien style sets-all from a heat gun and plastic.

  • where can i get these skeletons?!?!?

  • @chrisnn00723 @chrisnn00723 Walgreens buys them from an importer- like pitini enterprises or sunstar gifts. until Halloween no retailer will carry them. w w w Halloween asylum c o m is also trying to sell them, so check out that site.

  • Cheap and fast, just the way I like it~~ great info...thanks...

  • How do you feel about the panty hose method?

  • @rclsu13 It works well, I just hate dry time. I like the speed and look of this method but I understand it isint for everyone.

  • @StiltbeastStudios I like the look of this as well. How durable is the plastic after its done?

  • @rclsu13 pretty durable- it durability is a concern then you might want to do extra around the joints as they get the most wear and tear.

  • This has to be one of the best corpsing techniques I have seen (and therefore used). We used it this year in an under-the-bed pneumatic slider to great effect (I've got a video of it up on my YT channel)--and the results couldn't have been better. We wound up using one of the Walgreen's plastic skeletons, and once the plastic was on, you couldn't tell it wasn't a Bucky. Excellent video--thank you for sharing and for providing so many awesome tutorials for us Haunters! Cheers!

  • Wow your haunt website is amazing. I used to cruise through that area in a semi all the time. That theme park is really something.

  • That is amazing ! I love it!!

  • Allen your vids have had me trying all kinds of new stuff! This is one of my faves!!!! I have been back yard haunting for 5 years now and have been corpsing the hard way for all of them! Just got one done in 45 min for my first try.... then split it down the back and took it off my skely and did another one! WOW your a life saver a corps under $1.00!!!!!!!!!!! Who said a $1 doesn’t buy anything anymore? Allen you are forever a haunter’s GOD in my book!!!

    thasnks!!!

  • Thats the best corpsing Ive seen on youtube. I think you are a level above the rest. Nice work.

  • Nice job and fast I will be doing this soon

And by the way love the videos

  • @twiztedfaces Very fast, I love the results you can get too. Thanks for checking out the videos! If you havent yet, then please subscribe I make new videos every WED.

  • excellent video !! cant wait to try this.

  • Just wanted to let you know I corpsed my first skelly today using your method and he looks freakin SICK! Everyone on our haunt has experience with such things but me so they were skeptical that this would work, but they're believers now. Thanks for the video! You made it possible for us to have some corpses without spending days making them. :)

  • @JessSuave Awesome! Im glad it worked out for you!

  • i bought a bunch of body parts from the dollar store and used your tutorial... thanks brotha!

  • I am corpsing my skelly outside and I had to quit because of the fumes from melting the plastic. My brain hurt real bad for hours. this is a spectacular method but from my experience, wear a mask and work outside. This is potentially dangerous to breath in the plastic fumes...but man, this is such a great technique! I love my skelly:) Thanks for this great tutorial!

  • @lollypopholly You are doing something wrong- this technique shouldnt produce fumes. It never does when I do it. How thick is the plastic you are using? and are you using a heat gun? If you are getting fumes wear a respirator.

  • This is amazing, if and when I ever get to do my own haunt I will be using this idea.

  • Love your vidoes man! Just finshed up 5 corpses this weekend!

Worried about leaving corpse outside and geting hit by rain.

Any suggestions on how to protect them from rain/moisture?

  • @bfrisan I think they will be fine outside- its just plastic. Some plastics get brittle with prolonged uv exposure but many hold up just fine.

  • Did you seal this afterward?

  • @lowbloodsugarfeedme No I did not. I have used dulling spray on them when I wanted a less shiny look.

  • @StiltbeastStudios Thanks.

  • This is such an awesome technique! I bought the last three of his skeletons, corpsed them all plus some old little articulated skeletons I'd had for ages. Amazing how a child sized corpse creeps people out even more! My wife won't even look at them.

  • Did this tech over this past weekend, worked like a charm. Did the whole thing in about 45 minutes and looks pretty good. Thanks for the video.

  • Ok, I've seen these skeletons at my local Walgreens, and thought: "Not bad, and definitley lighter than a Bucky (as you pointed out in the video)." However, I wasn't sure if they would be good enough as is. But, after your great tutorial, I know exactly what I need to do with it. Thanks so much man, and thanks for keeping the tutorial fast and funny.

  • I have zero intentions of making a corpse, but this was thoroughly enjoyable to watch - you're a skilled craftsman!

  • @Poutress "I have zero intentions of making a corpse" I bet alot of guys in prison said that once. Im glad you are likng the videos I try to keep them entertaining because a 20 min tutorial of anything can get old, thank for watching.

  • Dude you are the shit . I love it going to Lowes in the AM.

  • Bossman, you are my hero! I am a freelance SFX MUA and I loathe store bought props. I am going to the store tonight for supplies. Thanks a billion! <3 Jill

  • Where can I buy skeletons in Australia?

  • @Clikblackfox physiosupplies period com period au ....

  • Would a hair dryer get hot enough, or should I invest in a heat gun?

  • @skarvha1 you will need a heat gun, but they are kind of an essential tool. Harbor Freight carries them for around $10- they work great.

  • Could I just use acrylic paint instead of gel stain? Would it have the same effect?

  • @Witchpies the stain is a bit more transluscent, but otherwise yes, same effect. I often use acrylic on my corpses.

  • What's so bad about doing the "hand thing"? XD

  • Planking is for idiots, we all love to corpse!

  • Who needs planking when you have corpsing?

  • Where can I buy skeletons?

  • @JumpsuitJamboree Walgreens they are the same kind and $30

  • at 10:30 you can see a heart where the heart would be. XD

  • Holy Hell! I gotta say I am Impressed! I spent close to 8 hours taking my Blow molded big lots Skeleton and coating it with paper towel and expensive latex, and THIS looks BETTER!!!!!! Bravo! looks like I will be making a few friends for "Bob" this year! Bravo! Bravo!

  • Sweet!!! Thank you! I've learned something today. :D

  • "The hardest part is turning this skeleton into a corpse."

    ...Isn't that the ONLY part?

  • @oppositeofcreativity no, if you dont do enough it is just a decorated skeleton, if you do enough then it is a corpse. All skeletons are corpses, but not all corpses are skeletons, its a meat to bone ratio thing.

  • Hey Allen - I just sent you a note regarding these skeletons. Just wanted you to know that email is from me - joeyd1013 on youtube. Thanks!

  • @abcnoyes2 Thanks for the heads up about Walgreens. You must be talking about mini skeletons, right? I can't imaging the life size would go for 30 since that's Pitini's price...

  • Once again an incredible project and well presented. You truly are the master. Thanks Allen. I always thought corpses were a must have but really wasn't confident in the latex/cotton technique. This I can do!!.

  • @abcnoyes2 I use this technique all the time to skin a variety of things- its simple and fast glad you like it!

  • My only thinking is that the skin is kinda glossy looking. Perhaps hit it with some kind of dull coat after everything is done? Otherwise, it is very cool that you end with a semi-translucent skin.

  • @MacEricG If you want to, knock yourself out- I kinda like the glossy look- but thats just a matter of preference. You could also justhit it with talc to knock down the shine.

  • Awesome, please post a video! I will eventually post a tutorial on how to jazz up a blow molded skeleton.

  • Awesome vid, I'm trying it right now. All I could find in my area was this horribly cheap plastic molded skeleton which is little more than a basic skeleton shape, but I'm impatient and wanted to do this today so I got it. We'll see how it works out, I might make a short vid and post it. Thanks for the awesome tutorial, this is gonna be fun.

  • @viracocha72 Awesome, please post a video! I will eventually post a tutorial on how to jazz up a blow molded skeleton.

  • yes its so nasty its cool

  • Very nice! and so fast ^^

  • The plastic technique looks wonderfully disgusting.

  • すごい…リアル

  • This is off the hook. Great job.

  • Pants are overrated.

  • I wish I would have found this last year! Awesome!

  • huh. interesting. I corpse using pantyhose which gives a similar look. I picked up a heat-gun at a garage sale though and have been looking for an excuse to use it! I have one skeleton left so I will try this. Thanks for posting!

  • I wonder if you could use a hair dryer to shrink the plastic?

  • @BlackdogRDC Yeah, it'd probably work. A heat gun can make higher levels of heat, but you don't need that kind of heat to shrink the wrap =)

  • @BlackdogRDC Im afraid not, the hair dryer does not put out enough heat to shrink anything thicker than saran wrap. But Harborfreight has heat guns for $12

  • Wow this is very cool. I usually don't do haunted houses and these halloween things but I really would like to. You're awesome. Subscribed.

  • Hey where do you buy them? Pitini Enterprises website is halfway working, and everywhere online is selling them for like 70-80 bucks not 30, they are part# 42022 or PE42022

  • That skeleton looks disgusting. Good job!

  • Wow, that is extremely impressive! Such an easy method but still a marvelous result.

  • How can we get the skellies? It looks like pitini only sells to companies?

  • thank you dude :)

  • So bad ass! I spent like 2 weeks corpsifying a Bucky last month for a a Texas indie feature called 869! This would have been so much faster, cheaper and awesome! So excited you are in Texas too! We're in Houston!

  • And then dump them in the woods

  • This is awesome. I will probably never want to make one myself, but it's cool to see how it's done!

  • Question: do you think you could use this same technique to encase liquid and fake guts? Almost like you could make it 100% sealed and filled it with helium. Skeleton balloon?

  • @derekmasses Your theories are sound, and you are messed up. I like you. I think that could work, but as well as sealing it with the heat gun I would seal it from the outside as well, with Flex seal.

  • Very Nice! Simple! Just the way most of us like it. My sister used the heatgun technique on an art piece a few years back. Just with paint and trashbags, she made a full wall of skeletons, looked awesome. I work with a heatgun often and know what it's capable of and been meaning to experiment for my vids. Thanks for these tips. That charred flesh is very legit!

  • Why am I watching this??

  • Good stuff! First time seeing this. The wife will be gone next weekend. Maybe I'll make one as a "Welcome Home" present. Nah. Better not. I know to many divorced people. Don't want to become a statistic.

  • I havent had any issues, but i suppose given enough time it could. but I have 12 year old props with this techniqe.

  • I havent had any issues, but i suppose given enough time it could. buy i have 12 year old props with this techniqe.

  • Cool tutorial. Question: Won't an oil-based stain eventually eat the plastic? Seems like it would, but I've been known to be be full of it before...

  • Awesome for the amateur hh fan.

  • EYE TUTORIAL PLEASE!

  • Great tutorial! I've used black plastic trash bags over cardboard (I used spray adhesive to hold the plastic in place) to make a Xenomorph costume and a demonic suit of armor. The organic look is awesome and so fast and easy.

  • An Eye tutorial would be amazing. Realistic corpses and other bodily ephemera are not easy to fake on a low budget indie film... Not without risking the cheeseball factor, anyway. I'd wager these techniques would render really well on film, especially if you have good lighting on your side.

    Kudos!

  • @oneonetwothree Ive gotten enough requests for an eye tutorial that one is merited. You will see one in a few weeks. Thanks for the kudos.

  • I think I have found the perfect gift to leave in the crawl space for the AC guy.

  • @Parknutzz Do you have a newsletter I could subscribe to?

  • Can you use a common household hair dryer instead of a heat gun? This video's really cool, by the way. It's always cool to see people who are really good at what they do, even if it's a little unorthodox.

  • @kevinsmellls Im afraid not, you need a heat gun. But Harbor freight has them for $12

  • totally need to do this for halloween

  • Holy crap! This looks incredibly good! The details of the skin from the plastic are so awesome, and when you showed how the hand looked at 17:14 I was really, really impressed.

  • I have to admit, I ended up here from Engadget.com. I'm not into this stuff at all, yet I watched all 20 minutes...it was pretty bad ass. I actually might just try this for the hell of it next Halloween. Oh, and I'm glad you ARE wearing pants! You are right?

  • awesome - totally can't wait to try this! and, yes, an eye tutorial would be fab!

  • Absolutely brilliant and you may have saved my back from the Bucky's. Thanks and if you ever wright a book on purpose I will buy it, so keep us up to date.

  • Very nice.

  • This is a cool corpse! I am in an apartment, maybe I can do this on my balcony!

  • What a delicious looking turkey dinner....

  • impressive

  • My cat paid a lot of attention on this video, I don't know why and I think I don't want to.. :S

  • @peripecia In a few of my vids you can see my cats "helping" with my work.

  • Amazing technique!

  • absolutely brilliant

  • Boing Boing. Great tut by the way

  • This was a really great tutorial!

  • Since when does 'corpse' have a verb form?

  • @johnnyk427 If I were making corpses out of people I would be Killing. Since I am making corpses out of inanimate objects I am "corpsing" It has been used in the haunted house world for many years now.

  • @johnnyk427 The English language has always been elastic in this way. Try "Googling" it.

  • This is just fantastic, it really looks wonderful!!

  • This is BRILLIANT!!! Sharing this with everyone I know. Holy crap. Could you gel-stain the ribcage in places you know you want it dark ahead of wrapping so you don't have to spray paint, or would the heat gun just burn it off?

  • @lizzielizzie Im sure that would be fine, I dont think it would burn off.

  • Hey Allen, just wanted to say that I have used this technique on a couple bluckies and it works pretty well. I prepare the bluckies for corpsing by giving them an internal pvc frame, and cutting out the ribs, skulls, and hands. Thanks for the great tutorial!

  • @Jooky1 Because the skeletons I used are hard to find, Im doing a tutorial on "fixing" a Blucky. Sounds like I use a few techniques similar to yours, so maybe we can swap details. I need to pick up a Blucky as soon as they hit stores and I will do the tutorial then. I dont have any "unaltered" laying around. Thanks for watching and for your input!

  • Simply awesome stuff Allen! I love your tutorials and this plastic corpsing has to be one of the best and fastest with suck great and quick results! A++ Looking forward to more!

  • Hi Allen! Sorry to bother you again, but unfortunately Bauer is sold out too! I've been browsing the net but I can't find anything even close to the $30 range you get with Pitini and Bauer. I plan to order from them for next season, but is there anyone else you can suggest for right now? I'm working on a scene that needs to be completed in a few weeks and I could really use a few of these skeletons. Any help would be appreciated - even if all I can get is two or three skeletons. Thanks, Joe

  • @joeyd1013 Hmmm....no these are pretty much exclusively sold by importers. Garden ridge carries them for $50 and that isint bad at all- especially if you can get them for half off. So right now garden ridge is your best bet. Would it help if next Wednesday I modified bluckies (the crummy blow molded skeletons) to be much better, then corpsed them? I have a few tutorial planned out but I think that one would help a few folks.

  • @StiltbeastStudios Thanks Allen. I looked into Garden Ridge but the closest store location is over 300 miles away. I'm just striking out left and right here :( I would love to see a blucky tutorial - that may be my only option if I can't find a bucky somewhere else. BTW, I would also like to see the eye tutorial too...

  • @joeyd1013 this is a response from your search for Pitini skeletons. Walgreens is carrying the Pitini's this year for $30. They are just putting out their Halloween so you might get lucky.

  • Yes do an eye tutorial. Love to see Cheap ideas

  • Hey Allen! Thanks for sharing this technique. I've used the heat gun and plastic bag for similar pelts but never thought to use it on a bucky! Good thinking! Quick question - I reached out to Pitini for a bucky but they're sold out for the season. Is there another company you can suggest? I'm looking for something in a similar price range and lightweight but durable. Please let me know! Thanks again and keep up the Wednesday tutorials!

  • @joeyd1013 The other company that has them is bauer pacific imports, again you will need to call them as they dont really have a website. 925-294-4002

  • @StiltbeastStudios Thanks Allen, I'll give them a try!

  • Fantastic! I have been wanting to do corpsing and glad to have found this. Much cleaner and I already have a bag of drop cloths! Wish I'd known about the skellys sooner - I need a bunch. I subscribed. Please do more!

  • So much had to be edited out to make it under 20 min. This could have been an hour easy, but I hope the technique comes through. Thanks for all the comments and kep em coming. i will make an effort to answer all questions posted. @asmarteru- it helps to pose them a bit, but it will bend , just have stain handy when you position it to touh up opened joints. Thanks for all the comments and subscriptions, keep em coming!

  • WOW just WOW..!

  • Honestly at first I didn't think it was looking that good....... wow, the clear plastic and brown stain really looks amazing... the translucency is definitely key. Again, another great video Allen!

  • I have your book well part of it I have been saving your post some time as well.

  • Awesome work, awesome price. Thx for the info.

  • Very nice. I used a similar technique for my skinned corpse, but with the 30 cent knee highs you can buy at wal-mart.

  • Interesting indeed

  • I will be doing this sweet thanks

  • Very easy way to add such great detail. Just curious, does the skeleton stay flexable or is it 'stuck' in the pose you corpsed it in?

  • What a sweet idea using plastic tarp! Looks so realistic!

  • Happy Birthday Allen! I really enjoy your videos! I'm going to try this technique for my skeleton. Thanks!!!

  • Happy Birthday Allen!

  • I have a few skeletons with this technique. I can remember if I did a vid on it or not

  • Dude you are the man. I hate measuring and i'm all about doing things as easy as possible. Rock on man
