@deamondogboy It's all a part of her cunning plan to catch Mystia. She'll use her status as a stage 1 boss to convince Cirno to let her join Team ⑨, which Mystia is a member of.
@coolcrazyman Well, it depends on you, nobody gonna play that for you. Here are some tricks: Hold Shift for slow movement, and when the bullet is about to hit you, use spell card (X button). Just keep practicing. More important thing, you should play Touhou 8 first, it is the easiest of all.
@Acellutor should've told him to start with six. If he started out with something hard the easier versions (Which are everything after 6[BESIDES SA. God those backgrounds weren't good for the colorblind]) would be even easier, considering he didnt use the hitbox patch, or speed hacks.
@Darkipod95 Hm....First, I said "should", not "must", that means he can play whatever he want, it is just my recommendation. Second, yes, IN is there easiest, but in the first stages only. All stage 5-6 of all versions have the same difficulty. Three, there is always a "lunatic" mode for hardcode masochists.
IN also has great themes. It might be a good start for him about what is called "Touhou" and "arranges". Since most people would started at 6, the first Touhou game I ever played was MoF.

Case is, After seeing a replay, I figured how to dodge them, and captured that spellcard. So yeah, watching replays of people that's better than you surely helps...

1:05 I always get shivers. It's this part of the song that holds Yuyuko's corpse's final destruction. The part of the song that says "She's dead for good! YOU DID IT!" As she explodes in epicly slow motion.
Someone said that this spellcard was when the Saigyou Ayakashi itself was trying to kill Reimu, Marisa and Sakuya, and get the last bit of spring to get it alive once more.
Also, the Saigyou Ayakashi was responcible for the deaths of 100s.
Now that I think about it, I dont think those butterflies were bullets, but souls being released from the dying Ayakashi. They fully all fully escaped and the Saigyou Ayakashi is sealed once more.
@GentlemanAeon777 Hmm, I wonder... It does seem like the Saiyou Ayakashi had a will of its own before it was sealed by Yuyuko's corpse, but I really think it's Yuyuko who casts this spell card and not the tree.
The Grimoire of Marisa says it's a spell that uses the power of butterflies to bring the dead back to life. I think Yuyuko failed to break the seal simply because it's impossible for her to revive her own corpse as that would make her ghost (who's casting the spell) disappear...
@leafyxcrowy4eva Pfft, I can one-up that. I have a bunch of Touhou songs on an MP3 player. I renamed the songs so they would be easier to recognize, and it scattered them all around in a weird order. All the tracks from MoF and PCB were just plain scattered, and the songs from EoSD were placed in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER.
In addition, the songs I mic spam most often and all of my songs from the Fire Emblem series were clumped together.

The way I do is that the Saigyou Arakachi takes possession of her weakened spirit and unleashes this attack as a last-ditch effort to kill you and claim the spring you've collected in order to break the seal, revive her, and ultimately bring the tree back to full power.

@BM309K58SMERCH It's her Last Word, pal. You can't shoot her, and you'll have to evade/graze her danmaku for a minute before you can complete the final boss stage... :D
@ExzcellionGamma Not really a last word though, since last words weren't introduced until IN (and if I'm not mistaken, are limited to IN only). I do believe, though, that her final spell is the first required time-out spell introduced in touhou (no evidence of that though).
@Shintear You must have forgotten "And then there was none". Also, I think there is one more time out spell card in Touhou 4 or 5, can't remember which.
@fleeordie ah. I (unfortunately) haven't played EoSD, so I didn't know. Though I think it's a bit different, considering Yuyuko's the last boss as opposed to the EX boss, which means that you have to survive it to beat the game at all...I think that would leave an impression on most. It certainly did for me.
Yuyuko... having the time of her "Life" when she would resurrect for her Last Word Spell and when she would see the faces of the Touhou players struck with horror---or just plain surprise.
I always felt that this is what happened: Yuyuko is trying to resurrect the tree, itself a very powerful entity, with her own power. She is actually being affected by the power of the tree, which is to draw humans to their deaths, i.e. drawing Yuyuko, already dead, to the border of life. A combination of her pouring so much spring into the tree and Yuyuko's ghost form losing power allows the tree to finally attempt a Perfect Cherry Blossoming, to take Yuyuko's power of death (continued)
@SOSdanChoreBoy to fully free itself from the bounds of life or death, and manifest itself corporeally in the form of Yuyuko's old body. The tree's power was sealed by her body, and her body by death. By releasing the body from death, the tree could have used Yuyuko's body to free itself and unleash death upon the world, something it already wants to do. This spellcard is the tree attempting to overcome Yuyuko as she's defeated and then take the spring the player has for full resurrection.
I thought the shadow of Yuyuko during Ressurection Butterfly was not Yuyuko, but her body trapped in the blossom tree? And that it was the blossom tree attacking lol.
@fleeordie I always saw that attack as yuyuko's last struggle against the player to break the seal of the tree, as the game indicates she recovered part of her memory (all the suffering that her power caused to her and her suicide because of said pwoer) she probably was left in a situation where defeat isn't and the only thing that she can do to advance is releasing all her enemy in a single, powerful attack to defeat the player. (and it's probably the hardest spellcard in the whole game)

I 1cc'd Hard Difficulty on my first attempt by bomb-laming my way through her Last Spell, which is both funny and pathetic at the same time
Then I stared at my screen in disbelief, wondering how Hard Difficulty could possibly be compared to "Arcade Difficulty".
It was still fun, though.

Now that I think about it...
Someone said that this spellcard was when the Saigyou Ayakashi itself was trying to kill Reimu, Marisa and Sakuya, and get the last bit of spring to get it alive once more.
Also, the Saigyou Ayakashi was responcible for the deaths of 100s.
Now that I think about it, I dont think those butterflies were bullets, but souls being released from the dying Ayakashi. They fully all fully escaped and the Saigyou Ayakashi is sealed once more.

@GentlemanAeon777 Hmm, I wonder... It does seem like the Saiyou Ayakashi had a will of its own before it was sealed by Yuyuko's corpse, but I really think it's Yuyuko who casts this spell card and not the tree.
The Grimoire of Marisa says it's a spell that uses the power of butterflies to bring the dead back to life. I think Yuyuko failed to break the seal simply because it's impossible for her to revive her own corpse as that would make her ghost (who's casting the spell) disappear...

@leafyxcrowy4eva Pfft, I can one-up that. I have a bunch of Touhou songs on an MP3 player. I renamed the songs so they would be easier to recognize, and it scattered them all around in a weird order. All the tracks from MoF and PCB were just plain scattered, and the songs from EoSD were placed in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER.
In addition, the songs I mic spam most often and all of my songs from the Fire Emblem series were clumped together.

YAY, 1st TIME i beat the 6th stage Touhou, normal MODE, its was like this:
Me:"Almost there, just a little more...i used 2 of my retries already... and... and... YYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS I WOOOOONNNNNNN"
Game: "congratulations, you beated the game!"

@thesunalwayrises That was actually what I did when I beat Touhou 1, after 4 hours of struggling to fight Sariel, slowly learning her pattern, knowing when to move, when to wave my stick at the ball, and when to use my spellcards to destroy her attacks towards me, and after finally defeating her, my palms sweating, my heart is beating, my hands are shaking and limp, I discover *trollface* beat me with no continues bitch for a good ending...
I'm glad youtube was invented for those moments

The way I do is that the Saigyou Arakachi takes possession of her weakened spirit and unleashes this attack as a last-ditch effort to kill you and claim the spring you've collected in order to break the seal, revive her, and ultimately bring the tree back to full power.
Yeah. That tree is among the scarier villains around.

I, paired with my trusty partner, Sakuya Izayoi, have decimated you, but we've heard of a final trick you have up your sleeve. Everything was quiet. I was anticipating this final move of yours. A move of desperation. Then you did it. We readied our knives. Some Danmaku got a tad too close, but we released Killer Doll just in time. Our supernatural border helped with the rest. After the smoked cleared, and there was nothing left, I knew I did it. I have achieved revenge.

I don't understand some thing, when Yuyuko revives, it says:
Remembering the melancholy of human existence Even ghosts stary from the path of righteousness
So considering it was a danmaku battle, why didn't Yuyuko just use her usual power, instead to use danmaku to finish the battle already?

@Linker1313 Yuyuko wasn't doing the fighting/danmakuing in Resurrection Butterly -__% Reflowering- It's the Saigyouji Ayakashi trying to her her "defeat" to finish the job and take what was left of the Spring.

@ExzcellionGamma Not really a last word though, since last words weren't introduced until IN (and if I'm not mistaken, are limited to IN only). I do believe, though, that her final spell is the first required time-out spell introduced in touhou (no evidence of that though).

@fleeordie ah. I (unfortunately) haven't played EoSD, so I didn't know. Though I think it's a bit different, considering Yuyuko's the last boss as opposed to the EX boss, which means that you have to survive it to beat the game at all...I think that would leave an impression on most. It certainly did for me.

I always felt that this is what happened: Yuyuko is trying to resurrect the tree, itself a very powerful entity, with her own power. She is actually being affected by the power of the tree, which is to draw humans to their deaths, i.e. drawing Yuyuko, already dead, to the border of life. A combination of her pouring so much spring into the tree and Yuyuko's ghost form losing power allows the tree to finally attempt a Perfect Cherry Blossoming, to take Yuyuko's power of death (continued)

@SOSdanChoreBoy to fully free itself from the bounds of life or death, and manifest itself corporeally in the form of Yuyuko's old body. The tree's power was sealed by her body, and her body by death. By releasing the body from death, the tree could have used Yuyuko's body to free itself and unleash death upon the world, something it already wants to do. This spellcard is the tree attempting to overcome Yuyuko as she's defeated and then take the spring the player has for full resurrection.

I thought the shadow of Yuyuko during Ressurection Butterfly was not Yuyuko, but her body trapped in the blossom tree? And that it was the blossom tree attacking lol.

@fleeordie I always saw that attack as yuyuko's last struggle against the player to break the seal of the tree, as the game indicates she recovered part of her memory (all the suffering that her power caused to her and her suicide because of said pwoer) she probably was left in a situation where defeat isn't and the only thing that she can do to advance is releasing all her enemy in a single, powerful attack to defeat the player. (and it's probably the hardest spellcard in the whole game)

@fleeordie I think the Shadow of Yuyuko was actually her regaining her memories, and the Shadow was also her human silouette (when she was alive).
I always pictured her hanging on a bloody noose while she's crying blood because she's regaining her memories, starting with her suicide.
