Glad you liked it. I notice now that this is for the older, "iMovie HD". iMovie '08 (the current one) is a little bit different, but the principles are the same. And Windows Movie Maker has similar settings, I am sure.
I did the source video on my computer (quicktime pro, using the built in isight). But that video was only what I was working on as I made the screencast. I used iShowU (like camtasia for windows) to record this "howto".

the compression setting you used in the video is not what you have recorded yourself... did you do that video directly online?
