  • how is the ammo for this is a box of 20 8mm rounds expensive?

  • This is an awesome rifle

  • So sad not to be allowed to own a k98k. Even more for me considering the fact that I am german.

  • @GraySolid14 Why can you not own a k98 Mauser ?

  • @Claretcross Because firearms aren't allowed to be owned in Germany. Damn, I think I'll emigrate to the USA!

  • @GraySolid14 I did not know that ! So, Nobody Hunts ? I have friends that say the mauser KAR 98 is a very well made and accurate rifle . I normally shoot a 7mm magnum or 30.06 . Both are browning semi- auto BAR.

  • @GraySolid14 No firearms can be owned at all ? Nobody hunts ? That is sad.

  • Shocker!!

  • Is GI Joe's still open and do you know if they still have any?

  • you hold the mauser in a wierd way

  • @SuperGreenday22 he's holding it the right way. a mauser isnt exactly light (4.2kgs) and by having the hand at its balance point its way easier to aim. its how i aim my K98

  • you load wrong (=

  • @LelONSTYLA he isnt loading it wrong ,but he would load it faster with a stripper clip

  • @SuperGreenday22 if want do it faster and rigt youuse just the thumb for the reloading

  • fun facts: The Russians were sore afraid of the k98 Rifle. Whenever they actually captured a few of them, they took them apart and shipped them away from the front hoping the Germans wouldn't recapture them. It was the most accurate and versatile weapon on that front, with the ability to attach even sniper scopes to the top. One way you can tell if its authentic(from the Russian front) is if it has a serial number from a Russian factory where they reassembled and numbered the rifles :D

  • @migratorycocanut i have a 1940 Russian Refurb

  • @migratorycocanut I'd be afraid of any rifle! lol

  • Did you pick up your brass afterward?

  • beautiful weapon... was fun to shoot with, huh? :)

  • WHERE ARE MY MUFFINS? DID ANYONE SEE MY MUFFINS?

  • nice lookin RC.

  • I wouldn't shoot with a rifle that belongs to a dead :s

  • Very smooth action and cycling. :)

  • where the hell did you get a german mauser for 249

  • christ 249 got ripped son

  • Interesting sound, it didn't have the traditional rifle "CRACK", it had more of a shotgun "BOOM" Sweet vid :)

  • I want one of these.

  • i got mine for free handed down from the family my 2nd great grandpa was a nazi i have his uniform and everything his mp40 the karabiner 98 and broomhandle mauser oh and hand loading sucks so i use stripper clips

  • throwin up the shocker lol

  • Wow! Now that's what I call boring.

  • You are huge !! or is rifle so small ??

  • That thing looks like it could a mean hole in a jew!

  • this is a real gun what i need :D

  • are 8mm mauser rounds easy to buy or do you have to make your own?

  • @DrewDawg50 no man you can buy them.

  • @DrewDawg50 go to cheaper than dirt.com or just look on the net

  • $249 that's a pretty good price

  • cool.

  • Two in the pink one in the stink :P!

  • Holy i like it itss verry quite!! :)

  • @KissTheseBloodyLips Not quite. The camera can't really catch the sound so well, but relative to other guns, it's LOUD. Watch my vid and you can hear a huge difference between it and other guns.

  • lol this guy is so big and handels the recoil so good !

i mean, i have a 1940 kar98 and its a serious cannon, loudest gun ive ever heard...

i mean it seriously almost knocked my girlfreind over...

so yeah this looks like a little toy in the vidio but its a cannon....

  • @Howie262 most any large bore rifle would do that to ur gf lol...and i have a .270...that is also a "cannon" if you consider a k98 to be too...lol

  • I love the shocker sign at the end.

  • oooh yours is smooth

  • @SS13E3

    That's what she said!!! lmao!

  • Good round, in the best action made. All that is needed to be said.

  • They say 8mm mause bullets/cartbrigdes.

Its problaby been said before, the right measurement is 7.92mm.

sorry if im bieng a smartass.

  • Thats just what they are called... most know this fact. Even commercial ammo just says 8mm mauser..

  • Does that one have much kick?

  • ehh I'm 14 and I can handle one fine

  • 239 dollar vor that rifle?

  • 8X57 js?

  • All mausers were 8x57 JS (or IS), it's the same cartridge if we're talking for the later models (after 1900)

  • I have 4 RC k98's and one all matching unfired safe queen. Even though I also own a German MG-42, MP-40, and MP-44, my brother and I still spend more fun time with out Mauser k98's at the range. bowling pins make excellent reusable targets, and we like chellenging each other in games of marksmanship with our k98's! My personal favorite is a BNZ 41 RC k98, the first rifle I ever bought. I love the rich red-brown stock on that particular one.

  • cool

  • high powered trench guns, just the way combat should be you get hit you go down lol.

  • exept a shotgun is just an ouch at 100 yards using shot. they only used shotguns for say clearing houses or tunnels for close range. other than that you need a high power rifle round.

  • Was that the shocker you gave at the end???? Awesome!!!

  • Nice bolt action rifle

    Is it nice to fire????

  • I own one too. It is fun as heck to shoot. Especially if you use watermelons as targets :)

  • tell me where i can buy one ? im from germany and here is hard to find good one k98

    (sorry for my bad englihs)

  • a good place to start is calling or going to local gun shops or gun shows and asking if they have any.

(you have better english than most rednecks in the US)

  • huh. just read the description.

i thought the turkish mausers were known to be very nice? it's probably the ammunition.

    very nice video.

i'm thinking about taking mine hunting boars.

    your thoughts?

  • Not bad at all, but recoil is more or less subjective. Hold it firmly against your shoulder and it's not bad.

  • @jres1 My only peeve is that the stock slips around when your shooting without a shirt on, I bought a "recoil reducer" sleeve to mitigate the problem, but now it looks ugly

  • @jres1 The load can make a noticeable difference in perceived recoil, too.

  • how is the recoil on that rifle? im thinking about buying one but im a lighter guy and i dont want to be hurtin after a few clips.

  • sounds like a dream lol just bought one and im gettin! it on wednesday! (Great Video) =)

  • I like the smoke as you open the bolt and then as the bullet exits the barrel.

  • When your loading them by hand, got to make sure nothing hangs up, if I remember right the tip of the bullet caught on the feed ramp when loading. Nice thing about stripper clips is they line the ammunition up right where it needs to be to fit.

  • How would you get a jam in the magazine??

  • Yugoslavian stripper clips are made of steel and seem to work great. ive never had a problem with the turk ones but i do like the tighter yugo ones more. My k98 seems to digest any ammo i put through it, be it PMC, Mitchell's Mauser, yugoslav surplus, or Romanian surplus. It shoots all of it accurately and operates fine. Nice looking k98 you got there.

  • Did thr Russians do somthing to them to make them worth less?

  • No. The Russians just removed the cleaning rods, sight hoods and locking screws to render them "useless". They also put reddish shellac on most of them before storage, which is easy enough to clean off with denatured alcohol. They just happen to be worth less than a vet bring-back or original untouched k98 is.

  • thats a sikk bolt action rifle mann !

  • as far as grouping goes mine will touch holes at 100 yards. but I use yugo brass case 1970's ammo . my 98's are yugo refurbs but the ghost markings on them are a 1935 mauser banner rifle and a 1937 erma with mint bores. I did get lucky with finding the correct wartime oiled stock for the erma.

  • Nice shocker there, buddy! :-)

  • No it's not dumbshit! it's rounded of from 7.92x57 to 8mm! and the only reason that he's not loading it quickly is because he's not using a stripper clip!

  • This is coming from an Airsoft Lord?

  • How do you get your stripper clip to work so smoothly when pushing the bullets in.

Mine is very stiff, and the bullets will not move whatsoever. Have any advice?

I tried to keep the bullets as straight as possible, but still too stiff, almost like the clip is bent.

  • I think when I bought that Romanian ammo it was about 10 cents a round... that was at least 2 years ago though.

  • mauser is such a cool rifle !

  • Nice vid. I think the RC K98k's are great if you want an example, unfortunately they have most parts mis-matched on them. Even so, they are good for the money. The only one I've seen at GI Joe's was a 1943 CE code (JP Sauer and Son I beleive). Mishmash of early and late war parts but the bore was decent.

  • how well dose yours shoot? especially at 100 yards? where dose it group?

  • Mitchells are pimped up Mausers...better off with a Russian Capture, at least they have a history.

  • mitchells are a rip off too so i say russian captured is way better all u have to do is clean it up a bit

  • Panzerace88mm- Hate to break it to you, but the Mitchell's are just rc's that have been refinshed, re-blued, even some of the markings are forgery's! You know that it is a worthless mitchell when you see the chromed bolt. Both the russians and the germans blued their bolts, so that is a dead give-away.

  • my mitchells mauser k98 looks like a dimond compared to those russian captures. but the only thing is i hate shooting mine because it is so clean. those russian captures are excellent for just shooting. but all k98 have one thing in common, they are the besthandling bolt actions ever made hands down.

  • hate to break it to ya. but your rifle aint worth what ya paid for it.. sure you get what you paid for.. but for collector value its below this of the russian capture rifle. ill take a russian capture over a MM anyday.

  • I hope its not M48, because Mitchells describe their M48 as K98!!! Only Mitchells..... BTW, if your bolt in K98 is white, thats easiest way to spot MM's work...... No K98 bolt is white..

  • k98's are a nice bolt action for hunting and whatnot, but a No.4 Mk.1 was definitely a better battle rifle.

  • yea man u got ripped off sorry u had to embarrass yourself by admitting u bought that thing

  • ripped off? i think otherwise. its the most beautiful rifle i have ever seen and it was well worth it. in my eyes its priceless in your eyes it might be something else.

  • alright fair enough i know how that is, im just saying, and alot of people will tell u this too, it was not worth the money u paid for it HOWEVER what it means to u and what a blue book value says its worth are two different things

  • Well let's see . Captured rifles saw combat for 3 to 4 years befor the got picked up by the red's . So theey are gonna be pretty beat up ! MM's are repro or come from a very limited period stockpile .

  • nice rifle

  • I know im subscribed but that a girly way to shoot a rifle! your less acurate that way because the front of the rifle is going to frop because of the weight!

  • Doesn't flop at all, that is the balance point of the rifle. Girly? Hardly, that is the best stance for quick target engagement and recoil management. The bladed stance is obsolete for anything but match shooting.

  • Im not rying to be a jerk, just when I try shooting like that my accuracy sucks. if it works for you great, but I ve never seen experinced shooters shoot like that. Not trying to make fun of you but where we come from we call that girly shootin cause only girls shoot like that, and young boys. And thats not the best stance for quick target aquring I have to do it all the time and I just dont shot like that srry. But it works for you take care and have fun!

  • just saying thats how the german soldier was tought how to shoot with there left arm near or around the front site or under the breech so he is correct, thats how i shoot mine and i have seen this way of shooting in about 600 some pics of germans in the war shooting this way so he is correct...

  • I see what you guys are saying and I can belive it works but Ive tried and I end up missin more than hit. holding a 8 pound rifle like that. And recoil managment what ive been tought is to put your weight forward. I guess im old fashion. Take care and yes he correct. Just from my experince having you hand in that position makes it hard to aim the gun.

  • it takes time to get used to, just like learning how to shoot a lee-enfeild shoot with the middle finger cycle the bolt with ur index like a brit soldier in the war, weird to do that lol

  • Yeah my hunting partner likes to shoot with his middle every so often I cant do it.

  • i only shoot with my middle when u use my ak and my lee-enfeild but my other rifles i dont, sorta strange

  • you have looked at 600 pictures of germans shooting rifles?

    get out more

  • well when its 11 at night and theres nothing to do yea i look at them other wise im never home i get out to much

  • Nice job Jon. Next time get the target in the video so we can watch you MISS!

  • Nice job Jon. Next time capture the target too so we can watch you MISS!
