Hey lethbptl, I'm just wondering in regard to these guys learning curve. Are they Berkeley or GIT educated or are they self taught? Sure! not every jazz musician is professionally trained but to be deeply rooted in theory sure helps. I did notice on one vid I'm sure I seen Daryl reading just before taking a solo. just looking for some kind of roadmap for pointers. Jazz is definitely the most difficult style of music that I've ever tried to learn. I hope you're feeling me. Thanks Bra

I feel u!! They are self taught for the most part....Neither one of them attended Berkley, GIT, New York School or Julliard for that matter.......I have knowing these cat for a long time. They are a little older than I, but I can remember growing up and watching them at Afro Days in The Park!!

Leon is very proficient in theory. We jammed together once at a guitar center thing and I mean he hip me to a lot of theoretical aspects of music...

Daryl Darden grew up right around the corner from here...He used to play Afro Days in the Park when he was a little boy....Greg Haynes which is his cousin he taught while living in the projects....Pruitt & Igoe........Lean Perry has played around here since he was little as well... Daryl used to hang out with Mitch from the group The Thirteenth Floor & Tower of Magic with Mark Carol on Bass......He left here and hooked up with acts such as Gladys Knight and cruise ship gigs.........Jross

PS. I remember growing up Daryl use to hit all the local bars. If he moved to Cali he still holds residence here seeing as though he still has a 314 area code. Greg is the band at Westside Missionary Baptist Church here in St.Louis and Leao is a preacher at his church not ten minutes from where we grew up.
