The highest percentage of drivers would have gone full brakes, and not steered through the open spot like you did. Congratulations on that skill, which everyone should have, but most do not. Scares me how many people drive too fast in bad conditions, including those supposed to be "pros", semi drivers. If you can't stop before what is at the end of your available vision, you are driving too fast. Get away with it usually, but when you don't... Might be the end of your, or another, life.
@125AXer Say what you want. You can drive precautiously by maintaining a much lower speed in these weather conditions. You are still asking for trouble, if someone behind you is traveling 20 or 30 miles per hour more than you are, then finally plowing into you from behind, from only seeing you, within the last second. Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. Hats off to the Semi, in this case. He or She did all He or She could, to avoid everybody. No damage is on this truck. So what does that say?
what a idiot way too fast on snow covered roads and just pure luck he didnt hit anything. It's stupidity just like that that causes accidents. But he wasnt on his own, looks like a road full of idiots were out that day
If you watch the video the Audi is damn lucky he got hit by the ford flex. it pushed him far enough out of the way of the 18 wheeler. so looking at it he is damn lucky the ford hit him or he wouldnt be alive
Was just on that road in December.......in a 28,000 lb straight truck. Same conditions. Only I was driving 25-30 mph for several hours in those conditions and maintained control and braking. Many cars and semis passed by me doing 55 or MORE mph. You people, and you who made the video are incredibly STUPID!!!! Your pride gets in the way of your COMMON SENSE!! Yea, but I've only been driving 4 years as a professional driver, over a million miles, no accidents......what do I know????
Thanks for posting this. It's a good reminder for everyone driving in the winter. Reason or no reason, people can be stopped ahead of you. If visibility is reduced, drive like you can't see - because you can't.
Its convenient that the car you're driving is a Lancer Evolution, which is specifically made for these types of conditions seeing as it is a Rally car.
so because you're a fuckin idiot driving to fast for the conditions you blame everyone else.. smart.. fyi.. when you rear end someone its your fault .
@francmeister420 that is no type of condition to be stopped on an interstate, with 50 meters give or take visibility, especially in the middle. Now if they had no choice, then fine..yes they were going a bit fast for the visibility, but if i were forced to stop, the first thing i would be concerned about is being rear ended. they are all idiots, especially considering there wasnt a real reason to stop. did you see what that tractor trailor was forced to do??
@PorcheTokyo Some people do. But when it only snows a few times a year they're not really worth it. And snow tires wouldn't have really helped in this situation as they Evo and the Flex weren't driving to the conditions.
Its always smart to operate a car, while also operating a camera. Especially in those conditions. You are lucky you didn't smash into someone else and hurt them.
@cmccoy393 Good lord you are a dumb son of a bitch! He's not holding a cell phone/ camera while operating his vehicle! It's a dash mounted unit that requires no operation. You simply turn the unit on before driving, like law enforcement uses on a daily basis!
@UnblockedOne2 Yep, slippery roads and low visibility. He was going way too fast. But take a look at the type of car he was driving when he got out, and you can see why. The choice of car reflects the mentality of the driver :)
@casmatori Otherwise it was the 18-wheeler! Look before the crash, there is no room for the 18-wheeler to aviod a crash, the Ford Flex created a gap and therefore the Audi-driver is pretty lucky.

@casmatori In all fairness if that ford didnt hit the Audi, the Audi would have got hit way harder by the 18 wheeler that flew threw that same gap
