I love how there have been seemingly back to back robberies and thefts across NH. It used to be a pretty decent place, but the economy is going to hell and no one even cares anymore because we all know how crooked the cops and politicians are.

I've never been an apologist for politicians, govt. agencies or the police. Where there is corruption, it must be exposed and eliminated. However... I'm not a fan of creating conflict in the hopes of inciting some sort of offensive conduct. As a matter of fact, an officer exercised his discretion just yesterday afternoon and let me off on two violations with just a warning. I'm pretty sure that not flunking the attitude test is the reason.

I detest victimless crime laws. Victimless crime laws violate the principles in which America was founded on, such as freedom. Many of the victimless crime laws are unconstitutional. The legal system should be used for protection of the innocent, not for cultural taboos or financial gain. The war on drugs is all about financial gain. Some politicians have used religion as an excuse to support such laws. Victimless crime laws are a result of corruption, deception, and bribery.
I remember in high school, it would take us about 4 or 5 hours to get booze cause we had to find some poor jack ass to buy it for us, but it took us about 20 minutes to get weed cause all we had to do was go to the drug dealer.
Those are excellent examples of the true mindlessness of those who work for government just to carry out government's orders.

It actually is written in the constitution that you have the right to do anything and put any drug you want in your body ONLY IF it doesn't harm anyone else in any way, meaning physical, and mental harm, and harm to others property or finances.
This is one of many unenumerated rights, and it actually is held up by the 9th amendment.

If one individual becomes an entrepreneur and sells drugs to people, which is not controlled or regulated, it can be harmful, not to mention highly addictive. Legalizing marijuana makes sense from a "it's similar to booze and cigarettes" point of view. It doesn't make people nuts like some drugs do, it can't poison you do death in one sitting like booze can, and it's not addictive like cigarettes and booze.

I live in Keene, NH - and these liberty activists are not necessarily looking for accountability - they are, more times than not, looking to get arrested - and when they do, they cry LIBERTY! My view is this-that decision makers with law are accountable because they speak for people in a way that direct our actions. But old ladies at city hall who are secretaries? No. Bugging a cop at a crime scene and demand answers RIGHT NOW... No. Berating the Keene City Manager because the info you want came in the form of a paper list vs. an email? No. Grown men handing joints to high school kids in the Keene police lobby and demanding they recite the Constitution immediately? No.

It's the attitude of a lot of law enforcement that their job is to keep people "in line". I haven't attended police academy, but I speak of my friends who have! I have friends in law enforcement, and I see it in them. I point it out to them as well. Naturally they deny it. It's true that sometimes you need the perspective of those looking in from the outside. That's where I'm coming from.

I've never been an apologist for politicians, govt. agencies or the police. Where there is corruption, it must be exposed and eliminated. However... I'm not a fan of creating conflict in the hopes of inciting some sort of offensive conduct. As a matter of fact, an officer exercised his discretion just yesterday afternoon and let me off on two violations with just a warning. I'm pretty sure that not flunking the attitude test is the reason.

It actually is written in the constitution that you have the right to do anything and put any drug you want in your body ONLY IF it doesn't harm anyone else in any way, meaning physical, and mental harm, and harm to others property or finances.
This is one of many unenumerated rights, and it actually is held up by the 9th amendment.

I know quite a few people in all the above mentioned professions who are all in great moral standing who do not smoke weed. Legalizing marijuana makes sense from a "it's similar to booze and cigarettes" point of view. cops dont shake hands because they cant look like they are taking bribes. I've had that same experience with many cops here in Idaho as well as in California. most departments have protocol about it.

Just FYI, You and I would've been of the same mind just a few years ago! Since then, I've read the writings of various radicals, and have had my mind and eyes opened. (Adams, Paine, Henry, Jefferson, etc.) After reading their views on Liberty, and the role of Gov't, it's hard to stomach your (and formally my) views.

Fair enough - I just happen to believe in treating others as I would want to be treated. I have often conceded to some things - its not as if I march around praising everything in government. If people want answers - then fine ask away - I just don't think circling people like a group of hungry hyenas and embarassing them on the internet is considerate of their liberty or rights. But then again, it is against the law - and that is when activists seem to love law so much -

ew..I hate to say it but I agree with ss on this one. Saying you don't know, or don't feel qualified to answer or whatever isn't a refusal to answer. It just means that she didn't know.....Of course, the fact that she's waging the drug war and has gaps that bad in her knowledge is a point against her.

Now that she knows, maybe she'll have a little trouble sleeping at night until she does what all research and successful drug policy shows, and that is that treatment should be increased and law enforcement should be decreased and we should abolish mandatory minimum sentences.

@seldomseeen No, legalizing pot will not create socialism in NH. In fact legalization would reduce the tax burden in the state and lead to more freedom like in Alaska. BTW Alaska has decriminalized marijuana and is not a socialist state. Why, not say NH can become another Alaska? Oh right, you can't play the socialism card and attempt to attach it to pot . Legalization of has nothing to do with social welfare policies of a state.

It's also in their blood. We all know certain types who are drawn to law enforcement. A high percentage of them were picked on by their siblings, classmates, or parents, and now see wearing a badge as turning the tables.

I know all this - they are called examples. Police officers don't typically imprison anyone - people do by making dumb choices and then a JUDGE imprisons them. This is called law....been around since Christ was a cowboy FYI. In addition, I didn't say there was anything wrong with Ridley's liberty pursuits, so why are you twisting this to make it look like I did.

I have no problem with people doing their, jobs. I'm only saying when it's a public office, they have to expect to be subject to criticism at every turn, that's the only way us without power, can check those that have power. Also, why can't you argue without resorting to name calling?

Police around the country need to be reminded that they are there to provide a service to citizens, not lord over them! My view is this-that decision makers with law are accountable because they speak for people in a way that direct our actions. But old ladies at city hall who are secretaries? No. Bugging a cop at a crime scene and demand answers RIGHT NOW... No. Berating the Keene City Manager because the info you want came in the form of a paper list vs. an email? No. Grown men handing joints to high school kids in the Keene police lobby and demanding they recite the Constitution immediately? No.

It's the attitude of a lot of law enforcement that their job is to keep people "in line". I haven't attended police academy, but I speak of my friends who have! I have friends in law enforcement, and I see it in them. I point it out to them as well. Naturally they deny it. It's true that sometimes you need the perspective of those looking in from the outside. That's where I'm coming from.
