Bob Jackson is the best person to keep the Badfinger flag flying and has a great voice. Although not an original Badfinger member, he has the essence of Badfinger.
Nice! Great to see this rare footage. Would love to get some of their music...if it was available! By the way, fine drumming, drumhooper! (Dave Powell, is it?)
@jvhsound There's a CD available called "Lost at Ebetts Field", on the Popmeister label, which has "Down" and loads of other excellent stuff on it including "Don't Let Me Be Wrong", which inexplicably failed to be the huge hit they deserved.
As a longtime Badfinger appreciator it's nice to see this rare footage. As for what could have or should have been for the Dodgers, I dunno. Tommy Evans had the Badfinger track record, and was -- even if often a mercurial handful -- unquestionably the band's most charismatic writer and performer. Can't help but feel that dumping him was an ill-advised career move. Without him the Dodgers landed as just another band of nice guys from Rockfield who could play a bit.
I still have the 7" ISLAND single of "Don't let me be wrong" by the DODGERS ! What a catchy song. Another record that should have been a hit ! When i first heard it, thought it was a WINGS taster from 'Speed of sound' , yes, the melody is terrif & could have been 'Macca'. Thanks 4 posting this, hope to see more of them...
Great that you posted this. How did you find it? Nice to relive the moment again. That's me on the drums. Not a bad litle outfit was it..and we were playing "live". What could and should ave been eh....!? P.H.
John Wilson is still alive, kicking and making great music as both a member of the Upbeat Beatles and as a solo artist, though his music is more like AVB and Paul Rodgers nowadays than Badfinger.
Just beautiful! Imagine John Wilson, Pete Ham, Tom Evans, Bob Jackson and Mike Gibbins. What a group that would have been! All great writers, singers, harmonies from heaven --- oh, what might have been...
wow, this was just after Pete Ham died right?

If Badfinger would have had better mmanagement in their beginning, who knows how much greater they would have been. Too bad.

I'm amazed at how much this sounds like Badfinger! I'd only read about the Dodgers; never heard them until just now.
