  • read the website in the description ಠ_ಠ

  • lol he chouldof done a moonwalk xD

  • Jesus Christ.

My Gran can walk faster than hes skating at 0:37

  • brilliant. when we going to see life size version. :D

  • asian people kick every other races ass

  • @MrSmellyish FAIL.

  • It's SO CUTE and it's SO BALANCED and COORDINATED!! XD

  • genial como se impulsa en cuanto a movimientos es excelente pero en funcionalidad? ASIMO a demostrado que puede ser muy util para la vida cotidiana.

  • awesome!

  • Hey, are you, like me, upset that Sony has cancelled such an amazing robot? Well please show that you care at bringusqrio . webs[dot]com

  • that's an awesome "moonwalk"!best to honor mj!

  • Scientists have nothing to do?

  • Robotic engineers are different from medical scientists. Even if you disagree with that, this is still a study in human motion and computer programming. With this knowledge of balance and visual perception, it can be used in larger scales in the future for something like assisted living, space exploration, etc.

  • @torren2101 except explore and better understand the way we work through simulation...

  • this lil robot is cooler than asimo, titan, rock-it, quasi, aibo all of them, it could talk, walk, run, dance, sing, skate, just all kinds of stuff, it definitely would have been one of the most successful steps towards artificial intelligence and robotics, to bad sony discontinued the project

  • gee- i wonder who picked it up when they "discontinued" it....

  • We already have, we outnumber you, have superior forces and are ready to crush >:-)

  • かわいい~~

    ゆっくり走るけど...

  • he skates better then meeee!!! I would have crashed and died....well, not die but I would have wanted to after that T-T

  • i know somebody who got one of these two.they are awesome.

  • Well if u can gain a 35000 doller check then u can buy one cus i have one!

  • I soo thought he was going to fall at first, I almost flipped. I think I would sell my leg for one.

  • thanks PS3, you killed my favorite robot

  • yeah they kill this to give us some lame pile of shit, i would so want one of these more than i want a ps3 just now!

  • DONT BLAME THE PS3

  • 滑ってるwwwww

  • *sigh* why sony whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? =(

    screw financial reasons lol.

  • Un-be-lievable. The people at Sony are idiots to stop this project. The applications of a robot with movement that fluid are.....unimaginable. With robots like that, um, why are we still sending PEOPLE up in the space shuttle again?

  • that is so true. I don't see why people at sony don't recreate a robot capable of intelligence that matches that of qrio, even if they were discontinued for problems that NO LONGER EXIST! I would kill for a qrio!

  • I would kill for a snickers

  • wow what a cute, smart and loveveble robot i wish i get one of that.

  • forget it its dismissed from the pro unfortuantley

  • my friend and I are doing QRIO for a school project and I found this video.I love Asimo too. QRIO is soooo cute!

  • it moves so smoothly!

  • i think by 2011 they will make robot world wide

  • Looks like a little person. The movement of the robot is very smooth.

  • Haha......I'm not Asian, but I think one they'll run the world.

  • can you actually buy one of these??? it would almost be having a little porable friend that always agrees with you

  • I want one (or two) of those, they are small and gracious (not like that gigantic asimo)

  • this is really nice!

but take a look at Honda's Asimo. They're considerably father along... The robot is even big and able to carry things to people, "dance," and talk

  • Yeah but i think having the robot be small is much more advantageous. Its not like sony never thought of making a big one. For instance, think about how much more stealthy a small robot is than a 4 foot tall one. and they have the same battery life! (<= 1hr on full charge)

  • I see what you're saying.

But why stealthy? I guess if it's doing some spying that'd be useful...

  • well also i just realized...pretty sure they were about to start trying to sell it. and i think a pint sized little dancing robot man is a lot easier to sell than, well, an actual sized robot man. that'd scare the hell out of a housekeeper i know that much

  • oh...

i still love the honda asimo though

    i like his "personality"

    oh well...

  • But I don't believe the Asimo moves as fluidly.

  • LOOKS LIKE LITTLE SUPERSTAR

  • it's adorable!

    i want to meet one...

  • They are SO fluid in the way they move. Very realistic.

  • Cool..

But he's going very very very very very

    very very slow 0_0'

  • OMG yes he is hahaha

  • dude, that was AWESOME!!!!

  • cool but, asimo kicks his ass...

  • i gotta admit, the mvementsdo look quite realistic

  • i think the qrio is the single biggest breakthrough of robotkind- its been proven to be an amazing advantage. and also theyre damn cool. they can walk/run/skate/dance..everything

  • @jonsparky123 tell that to the labor workers of the future.

  • I just pictured an invasion of murderous rollerskating robots. It was a terrifying vision of things to come.

  • Thats sure to give people nightmares

  • fuck that thung moves slow. pick up the pace

  • It's a toy. Designed to be sold like the Aibo but Sony stopped its robotic ventures for financial reasons.

  • the point is technogolical breakthrough. not sales.

  • I dont think a skating robot is a breakthrough. We have alot more in this world to worry about. Yet people are wasting money researching seedless watermellon when 2 year old kids are suffering with cancer. Just my opinion.

  • You have noble ideas but you need more imagination. Imagine how many old people will benefit from having personal robot assistants, which research like this works towards.

  • true, that's going to be important in japan as they have a rapidly aging population with not many youth to take care of the elderly

  • It's not the ederly consumers in japan that sony would target. They would make them all different neon colors and every kid on the block will have their own. We will just get lazier. Eventually the robots will be smart enough to spike your soda with rat poison. Who knows what will happen from there?

  • Yeah, to turn a profit now. But it's been stated by sony and honda that the end result of robotic engineering is to create care-bots that help the elderly

  • probably has to do with the fact that it costs too much to buy and if noone will than whats the point?

  • Can you imagine this thing ten times bigger? See the movie 'Transformers' to get an idea.

  • No one knows why they abandoned the Qrio research do they? I think its was just the cost of the project, funding it was probably costing sony a fortune

  • He's more like walking on skates, not actually skating. You guys got some more work to do!

  • Y'know...I've kinda not liked Sony for a while--mostly because of the whole Playstation deal, and I'm a Nintendo fan--but I must praise Sony for the work they're doing with these robots! Quite amazing, I must say. I say they put the PS work on hold for a little while, and start putting more time into these robots!

  • I agree...I have taken a particular dislike to the playstation stuff (even if the DDR is fun) and I think these little guys are by far the most interesting!

  • yeah...are they on sell yet? I going to get one.

  • Sony shut down its robotics division and scrapped the Qrio research. Its not ever coming out.

  • yeah you know why? one of these fuckers went berzerk and tried to kill the president of Sony. what they haven't told the public is 5 of them escaped and are on the loose in osaka.

  • lol. thats funny.

  • Dude skates like a stud!

  • cooooooooool

  • É BOSTA

  • they should put him on a sk8board stick him on a vert ramp that would be sick or make him grind or tha robo 900 he could be tha 1st ever robot in tha x games

  • ALGORyTHEMs

  • I can't believe it...that robot can rollerskate better than me!

  • Dude.

That robot rollerskates better than I do.

  • amen brother

  • The music is so inspiring. How creepy is the robot though? Its like the kind of video they show in a bleak, "not too distant future" movie about robots gone crazy, showing the humble, happy, promising outlook of robot design in the beginning.

Its all downhill from here people.

  • I'm impressed by the 80's soap opera music in the background more than the robot.

  • LMFAOOOO

  • It's clear they use motion sensors to capture a humans movement then place that on a microchip and a person then sends a command to the robot to repeat those motions. It's the same method of digitizing done with automotive robots but using motion capture instead of recording movements in servos.

  • Wtf?! Are you stupid?! This is an A.I. robot that has been in production for a while. I'm sure there isnt a Qiro headquarters, full of people mindlessly running around, wirelessly feeding the info to the Qiros in peoples homes. Lolz.

  • love it... that robot can rollerskate better than ME!

  • WOw

  • I heard Qrio got Nixed. Can someone confirm??? SONY IS NOT EVEN GOING TO MAKE HIM FOR THE PUBLIC. I"M GOING CRAZY I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes they did, but would you be willing to pay up to $50,000 for one?

  • I JUST found out last week that's how much they were going for. When a friend told me, my jaw hit the floor. I'd pay $3,000 MAYBE $5k but $50k? That's a car and a half! I felt so foolish when I posted here that I'd dish $1,200. Obviously, I had no idea how sophisticated QRIO is. As much as I'd love one, there's no way I'd pay $50k.

  • aww cute :)

  • I want one!

  • wow I actually havnt seen this one, rollerskates! awsome! I wonder how many years it will take before its at a decent price for the public?

  • AWESOME ! ! !
