What did Blackie look like Tom and when are where did this all happen? I listen to this from time to time, like the song alot.

Blackie was an old white guy,...and seriously he might hav e been only around sixty years old,...I don't really know. I was about 18. Working construction and hanging out at this little bitty lifer type bar in a small town in Illinois. Back in 1972 more or less.

I've been thinking since you asked,.....he was like a carnival operator stereotypical truck driver sort of guy. Smallish though,...maybe like 5'-8" more or less, kinda pale, black hair, thinning but still combable [if that's a word],....wore black jeans, flat heel boots, wider type belt, button down long sleeve shirts, one button too many open..........probably in his late fifties, early sixties.

Illinois - one of the little towns along the Fox River there in Kane County. Batavia. Clevers was the name of the bar at the time. Twenty foot bar, ten stools, pool table in the back, they sold hamburgers that Clever made by hand. No music or anything like that, just a bar on a side street. Except for our 'teen club' it was all old men.

Please see below,....I may have dropped it the other day. We were having pretty heavy conversations about it. Started slow, then it 'had' to have a beat,...then all of a sudden, it needed to be slow again,.......
