Why do some on the left defend Islam? This is a religion which goes against everything the left stands for - gay rights, women's rights, reproductive rights, separation of religion and politics and et cetera.
The sad truth though is that many (not all), but many Muslims who want to do America harm meet at their local mosques or Islamic center and discuss their plans to destroy America right here in the US. Sometimes even the leaders in the mosque encourage violence. Anti-American Muslims tend to worship together in the same mosques. So it would make sense for law enforcement to go undercover into Mosques and Islam centers as I'm sure they frequently do.

@trinbr For the most part, we treated Iraq' prisoners with dignity. However, there were a few individual cases when soldiers abused the prisoners... the soldiers were punished. In any war, you'll have at least a few cases of abuse.
Honestly, no one WANTS to do waterbaording at Guam. However, if I could save someone's life by using it, I would. Someone's life is much more important than another person's level of comfort.

This is not about freedom of religion. The best defense against islam is to read the koran. It commands them to lie to the infidel about their true intentions. Statements of love and peace are written early in the book. The later parts command muslims to convert, enslave or murder EVERYONE on the planet. The sad truth though is that many (not all), but many Muslims who want to do America harm meet at their local mosques or Islamic center and discuss their plans to destroy America right here in the US. Sometimes even the leaders in the mosque encourage violence. Anti-American Muslims tend to worship together in the same mosques. So it would make sense for law enforcement to go undercover into Mosques and Islam centers as I'm sure they frequently do.

@trinbr For the most part, we treated Iraq' prisoners with dignity. However, there were a few individual cases when soldiers abused the prisoners... the soldiers were punished. In any war, you'll have at least a few cases of abuse.
Honestly, no one WANTS to do waterbaording at Guam. However, if I could save someone's life by using it, I would. Someone's life is much more important than another person's level of comfort.

@tarquinfarquhar to blame an entire religion for an act you have to at least have that religions whole populous support that act even then its debatable. for example the ottomans taking over spain was an imperialistic notion in a time where countries wished to expand their borders. but on the other hand when you have entire christian countries, the Pope, and the whole christian hierarchy support about 10 different crusades in DIFFERENT times against a whole religion, then u can say something.

This is not about freedom of religion. The best defense against islam is to read the koran. It commands them to lie to the infidel about their true intentions. Statements of love and peace are written early in the book. The later parts command muslims to convert, enslave or murder EVERYONE on the planet. It also says that later commands supersede earlier ones. This is about allowing a fifth column of invaders to attack us internally and not even trying to resist. What more do you need?

Tabari 9:69 "Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us" Qur'an (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah". Taqiyya (or lying is ok): In short, a Muslim can lie as a holy duty to deceive and gain an advantage over the unbeliever. I have lots more! Want to hear it?

But the facts I see in the real world tell me that I am correct and that a "peaceful" muslim is either a someone who does not truly follow the koran, or is "deceiving the infidel. @leestauf islam allows the construction of any religious temple or place of worship, third world oppressive governemnts however, do not. the muslim world is very critical of saudi arabian policies, but you wont hear that on fox news. in fact christians and jews who live in muslim countries do not even have to fight for the islamic country their living in and under islamic law the muslims have to PROTECT those jews and christians.

@leestauf The Quran explicitly states that violence is to be used only as a means to retaliate against persecution and in self defence. When you quote 8:39 above, you clearly quoted this, too!
"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah. But if they cease, then lo! Allah is Seer of what they do. (8:39)"
How much clearer could that be? FIGHT THEM UNTIL THERE IS NO MORE PERSECUTION. This is also an American belief, so please

At 1:10 - to try to seek equivalence between mosques and churches is false comparison. There are many Islamic terrorists groups but no Christian terrorists.
In Britain there have been numerous cases of terrorists being , recruited and radicalised at mosques, weapons, false passports, jihad propaganda have all been found in UK mosques. There is no reason to assume things are any different in the US.
There are good reasons to spy on mosques while not spying on churches.
