this video is crap!! what's with the head in the way? did someone get a seat whilst videoing and not want to move? u miss the whole show. The band sounds like crap at this stage too!! Seen other videos that are much better than this from Indeed...
Come on guys - in the days when the Smiths were rewriting the history of indie music then the whole point of being a fan was to try and look dress and act like Mozzer. Dont tell me you havent danced around you bedroom waving flowers to This charming man - if you haven't youve missed the whole point. Being a fan was to be part of a tribe of misunderstood outsiders.
The Smiths Indeed are not about plagiarism - they keep the tradition alive. THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT
marr and morrissey always believed in this oscar wilde quote "Genius steals, and a talent borrows."
yes, morrissey did take a bit of his lyrics from his own influences, but then again marr took ideas from his guitar influences (Panic with t. rex) all artists take something from their influences.
When i see these Smiths cover bands i really just think to myself 'Gee's, these guys have really missed the whole point of what the Smiths and Morrissey stood for.'
Not to be a nitpicker, but Morrissey plagiraized about half of his lyrics from other authors, including lines from Cemetry Gates. The Line "Ere thrice the sun done salutation to the dawn" was taken from Shakespeare's Richard III.
Your point is correct (although its no where near HALF). Although your example is not. This is reaaally nitpicking, but the Shakespeare line in used as a direct quote, the lyric is in quotations, you should listen to the song again. A better example is the many Delaney lines that appear in most part in the first album.
My main enitial point was yes Morrissey used others lines, but he developed them into something completely different. This pathetic regurgatation seems to be pointless and a waste of seemingly talented musicians time.
You're right, it's not near half, and the line I quoted was also a bad example. I don't like to argue with other Smiths/Morrissey fans, because there are enough out there who find it necessary to post hateful things on videos of these artists who they suppossedly "hate".
All I guess i really should have said is that though they may not have the talent of Morrissey and Marr, the important part is that groups still cover these songs to pay their tribute to the greatest songwriting duo of all time (in my humble opinion, and not to demean the importance of Rourke and Joyce to the group).
A great song (original)dont know why on this site the comments have been disabled? BUt this bloke sounds like mozzer, shame about the baldy bass player, and the drummer looks like he should work in a dirty greasy cafe.
Guitar needs more distortion!!!

If you squint a bit the singer could easily be Morrissey. The voice is right...the clothes are accurate...

That's T.S. Eliot you pretentious faggot.
But you like what I like.

sorry. Wilde said "talent borrows, genius steals." Eliot said "The immature poet borrows...the mature poet steals."
It doesn't take away from the fact that Mozzer and Marr are pure class.

well fuck you for call me a pretentious faggot and then correcting yourself..
morrissey and marr are nothing but class.

Very good performance and the singer voice is Moz's, however these guys lack the energy of the original Smiths on stage... Nice video!
