that drop in volume and change in tone I've noticed on my own rig sometimes. if your angling your amp upwards this can happen. (having the amp speaker facing towards will render a noticeable difference in perception of how it sounds) id say try getting rid of any extra cords (using custom cables to interconnect effect boxes) and also putting your amp a good 10 or 15 feet from your effects can also help. im not sure the cause, I do know these things can help prevent that phenomena from happening.

Floyd's solo's are some of the most painful to play due to all the wide string bends. I spent the first two years of playing with bleeding fingers! I love your guitar and can't wait to get a candy apple red strat a la Pulse! I've been playing properly for four years and now improvise my own solos but to Floyd backing tracks. I should posting stuff again!! How long have you been playing?

@mysoresriram ^. Most guitarists tend to improvise their solos in concert. Even the most famous guitarists of all-time like Jimmy Page vary so much in their different solos. Compare the Album version of Stairway to Heaven to the Earl's Court version and you'll notice some drastic differences. It's always the same solo but it can be very different. For the pulse recording, Gilmour played an extended solo. It could do with the fact most people won't listen to an MP3 past 3 minutes but a concert...
