Fantastic upload - I well remember watching this on ITV Schools on Channel 4 during 1987-88, the first school year I was educated at home, and I assume the recording is from that year because I don't think it was shown after that.
Just the opening seconds of the title sequence set off the right frissons. Fred Harris had *just* the right tone for this sort of thing, and Ron Geesin achieved much in his time (not least in his collaborations with a mercifully pre-pomp Roger Waters).
The first drum beat he does sounds like Joy division - 'atrocity exhibition'.

I loved the animated abacus sequences was a kid! Its great to see them again 25 years later!
