That doesn't mean that I hate the new "Start Screen" any less. I try to avoid using it whenever possible.

I was just watching this scene with the comments of producer and writer Bernd Eichinger - he kept it very close to eye/earwitness accounts so it's good that you have kept a lot of the detail.

Bernd Eichinger who wrote the script points out that this scene really happened and that if Hitler had given up when he realised (far too late) that the game was up, he would have saved 300,000 civilian lives.
