@Driveshaft12345 should have stayed about 20 seconds longer moron because then it definitely sounds like cornell. but i'm sure glad as i'm sure everyone is that you gave your expert testimony based on such a hi-fi recording. shut the fuck up and watch the damn video and take it for what it is douche.
@chrisiroc I know what your saying i lived in seattle at this time and still do but there was a crazy magic going on in the early 90's. Its to bad it died with andrew, kurt, and layne
This clip is just totally epic. Such a great tribute to Andy...but these days, when these same guys take the stage, they are billed as 'Pearl Jam with Chris Cornell'. I wonder if any of them had the dimmest clue that 20 years down the road, they would be where they are. Because here they are in this clip, only 3 weeks after Pearl Jam's (Mookie Blaylock's) first performance as a band. Funny though - when Chris introduced Mike, my first thought was "He's on the wrong side of the stage!" Ha
I think most people have summed this up but this could be one of the most heart felt songs and only Cornell's performance and vocls could do it justice. If you don't like the song, look into why it was written, have a look at the lyrics then give your opinion. Unbelievable song.
@Tapicero111 In 1999 which was the date of GNR's last album you were 12 years old. I'm sure you were privledged enough to see several of their live performances and to have felt their power on stage live on multiple occasions. Shut up and listen to Britney Spears or some other shit that is more your speed!!!!!
@jnasay dude if your going to insult people on a basis of claiming to support good music, plz plz plz pick someone better than guns n dogshitt...i know u r are partial to them because your mom probably fucked slash everytime he came to town but plz dude they are shit compared to everything else u mentioned above...plz for the sake of sanity rethink your life
well if any of those people had a good voice i would agree with u, but since they dont, that dosent make any sence. i mean they all fit in with those bands but their voices arent all that great, yea i can understand u saying the genre sounds the same but for actual good vocals, they cant do it.
@DragonsFiire do people like you just troll this site to post disparaging remarks. andy wood meant alot to us. are you a musician? or a critic? regardless, shut up. then sing it fuck-o. otherwise, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
@AkisColdplay It started out being Mother Love Bone, after Andrew Wood, with a little assist from Cornell and Cameron from Soundgarden, and became Pearl Jam. If I remember correctly.
@AkisColdplay It is composed, written, and vocalized by the same man. Chris Cornell was the driving spirit behind this production!!!!! From what I understand Eddie was fortunate in that he got a sound byte and made the most of it. Chris was this album!!!
@jnasay I am not thinkingh this through in only one album. Im thinking about every album that cornell has done except his solo work. He is solid and stays consistent with his amazing ability
I was at this gig. It was a GREAT Monday night show. My first night off of my "weekend". I was a nightclub DJ & had Monday & Tuesdays off. @jgatorful fnaright. Seems like all decent music stopped somewhere around 2001. Maybe it's just that I'm getting old. I listen to the shit my 17 yr old neighbor calls music and just want to cry.
@jnasay ya im 33 and music nowadays is GARBAGE! The only rock group worth a shit now is FOO FIGHTERS! And that is basically nirvana? @jnasay I agree, music died about the turn of the century. N-sync, britany, christina, and backstreetboys. Pop is back, long gone are the days of great music, with raw emotion, and very, very, talented writing, and instrumental.
20 fucking years ago, makes my heart heavy to think of growing up listening to this band and the others of the time. they are long gone now and no one can even come close to the talent they had anymore.

Does anyone know the whole meaning behind the lyrics? Specifically the part "Since you can't say to me how the dogs broke your bone." What's that mean. Is there a story behind that?
Well the whole song is about Andy Wood and that he died from a drug overdose. Since you can't say to me how(he's dead)the dog( the drugs) broke your bone(killed him). that's my guess
I take it as it says...... The dogs (society and the law) cant Break Andrew Wood....... They were living in Seattle...... But Heroin Broke his bone.....The COLD ground was his bed....But the earth was his home...........PURE GENIUS... And AWESOME gutair... LOVEMLB and Chris Cornell.........

Andrew Wood was the lead singer of MLB and Malfunkshun and Mark Arm was the lead singer of Green River and Mudhoney. The only difference between the two is that one is dead and the other is alive. "Temple of the Dog" was a tribute band that formed as a result of Wood's death. Fun fact: the name "Temple of the Dog" is a lyric from a MLB song called "Man of the Golden Words".
I wish that all lawyers and nigga record companies would give great bands freedom to release great vids-this one sucks except lady fuck wad--next next
one of the greatest singers of all time. for me he ranks up with rob halford (judas priest, listen to victim of changes), roger daltrey (the who, listen to love reign o'er me), ian gillian (deep purple, child in time), freddie mercury (queen, bohemian rhapsody), bruce dickinson (iron maiden, the trooper), ronnie james dio (dio, rainbow in the dark), mccartney/lennon (beatles, oh darling), robert plant (led zep, since ive been loving you) and layne stayley (alice in chains, rooster)
One of the greatest songs and albums ever made. Very underrated. I had not even known about it until a year ago and I am a huge Cornell fan. Simply amazing music.
I just can't believe someone has video of this performance. Amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience, I'm sure. Glad the interweb has made it possible for us to share it.
If you don't think anyone sings like this anymore then you need to check out someone named Jimmy Gnecco of the band Ours. You want to hear some modern day vocal power go listen to the song Fallen Souls or Red Colored Stars. Chris Cornell sure is a beast though.
Wow it must have been amazing to all those who have grown up in Seattle at this time. Such a great underground movement with places to play, amazing. A little piece of gold in music's history. Would like to invite everyone into grunge, the 90's and the Seattle scene to check my band's music. We have just recorded our first EP and those are still our influences. Thanks&Peace.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wow Chris has such a bad voice here, you can hear the potential but he has no pitch control at all. Such a contrast to the album, which is one of my all time favourites.
umm it all sounds a bit dodge, not just 'the pitch' but the guitars sound like they're strung with #8 wire. I think it could be the audio quality at fault. You know, to match the visual. This album is beautiful.
yes i suppose you're correct. they merely wrote songs. as opposed to freddie mercury using his omnipotent golden phallus to manifest chants for high school football teams and thinly veiled porno scripts for his boyfriend. of course some people like opera themes which record execs blatantly shove down your throat while telling you it's rock music.
ooops! i think u meant that the band with a symbolic of a lady (queens) means gay, so i revert it and refer to alice in chains that they are not gay even though ALICE is in their band name. haha.....my bad!
You sound ridiculous. The 'homo' you speak of had millions of straight people buying his albums around the world. He changed the entire music scene and accomplished more than you EVER will.
Let's see your dumb ass prance around stage in spandex and see if anybody even wants to LOOK at you let alone buy your music and love you for it. Think about that.
Mmk.. Well, I happen to be a guitarist in a band that's going great right now. So don't tell me I can't be successful in life because i'm making fun of the world's gayest singer.
Yeah, he was gay, man. Get over it. So is Rob Halford! Because of him the entire rock/metal scene to this day dresses like a bunch of gay club men into bondage. Didn't happen to catch that, did you?
If a gay "homo" could make the entire world love him and you can't even get a record deal what does that make you? Worthless? Useless? Pathetic? Jealous? Take your pick stud! LOL
Haha. I'm going to have to go with.. Jealous? Nah, I don't want to be a homosexual. Pathetic? No, no.. I shouldn't have made a record deal this quickly as I am still a teenager. Worthless? Ehh, until I am known. Useless? NO! I make a great Turkey sub. =P
I'll go with.. Unknown. Maybe like you. Who the fuck are you to tell me i'm no good? And how do you get this quick witted idea that I haven't gotten a record deal yet? Yeah..
It is? I think not. I would LOVE to know how it is any more justified to say i'm nothing than to call ANYONE gay. It isn't. That's exactly like saying it's more justified to call an African American a "nigger," than to call a Texan a "redneck." It's not. =/
Obsession? You're the one who feels the need to mention Freddie Mercury's sexual preference repeatedly on a youtube video comment board. LOL One can't help but wonder why where Freddie stuck his cock is of such interest to you. Well?
You're a cliche, kid. Experience allows me to see RIGHT through you.
My point exactly: You're STILL talking about Freddie's cock even after he's dead! Come to grips with your homosexuality, kid. Life will be a lot easier for you.
You said and I quote, "Go take your lover boy Freddie Mercury, and have Arabian raging butt sex with him in your trailer."
In order for "butt sex" (It's called anal sex you ignorant idiot) to occur there has to be a penis and asshole involved.
So, no matter which way you spin it you were talking about one of our cocks and one of our assholes. Whose cock and asshole were you mentioning in the quote above genius? LOL
shut the hell up about his sexual orientation. hes one of the greatest singers ever and so is cornell. does sexuality really matter. NO! even if you do play the guitar he probably has more talent in his fingertip than you have in your whole body.
I don't doubt it. I don't know how the hell I got into this whole debate about his sexual preferences. I respect, and enjoy him and his music. I think he is a legend. I really don't know how I got into this 'gay-hating' thing with someone else.
ignorant idiot- good one ~sarcasm~ and i call it buttsex, its a synonym. and queen is gay. mercury is the most flaming homosexual i have seen since elton john. he has good vocal range, but not someone i would call one of my idols.
Grow up moron. No one is interested in your typical gay bashing, hateful words.
Does make me wonder what you'll do as a dad when you find out your son or daughter is gay. Disown them maybe? How about your friend(s)? Maybe a cousin, or an uncle? Because they are all there, whether your know it or not. I am quite sure you've showered right next to gays in school, you idiot. Get over it.
Besides, what does any of this have to do with this great tribute song/band?
I'm not sure. Why don't you ask the person who BROUGHT IT UP?
And by the way, I have absolutely no problem with homosexuals. I was lead to that point and just went along with it. I happen to think Freddie Mercury is a phenomenal vocalist.
Chris Cornell featuring Timbaland - Part of Me - Official Video (HQ) I can't believe he's gone from grunge to rap !!! Its so bad... Good to try new stuff but has he finally sold out??!!!
Fluttergirl- I don't know where you got this... but i'm glad you put it up. i don't even care that it's a WAY ghetto recording. I must admit, if i had this, i'd be selling it. lol. they only played a couple shows, and i've always been pissed that i never got to see them live. you fucking rule for posting this!
Thank you so much for posting these. I was always hoping that there would be a DVD of them playing the entire album live. Since it is has not emerged, I am thankful for this.
i completely dude music just isn't as pure as it was in the 90s. mike inez from alice in chains said that we need another musical revoulution like the 90s and i think hes on to something.
One of the greatest songs ever.

one of the greatest singers of all time. for me he ranks up with rob halford (judas priest, listen to victim of changes), roger daltrey (the who, listen to love reign o'er me), ian gillian (deep purple, child in time), freddie mercury (queen, bohemian rhapsody), bruce dickinson (iron maiden, the trooper), ronnie james dio (dio, rainbow in the dark), mccartney/lennon (beatles, oh darling), robert plant (led zep, since ive been loving you) and layne stayley (alice in chains, rooster)

One of the greatest songs and albums ever made. Very underrated. I had not even known about it until a year ago and I am a huge Cornell fan. Simply amazing music.

I just can't believe someone has video of this performance. Amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience, I'm sure. Glad the interweb has made it possible for us to share it.

no one sings like that anymore:(
nikxlazyeye 2 years ago 5

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Wow Chris has such a bad voice here, you can hear the potential but he has no pitch control at all. Such a contrast to the album, which is one of my all time favourites.
maclanoc 2 years ago
umm it all sounds a bit dodge, not just 'the pitch' but the guitars sound like they're strung with #8 wire. I think it could be the audio quality at fault. You know, to match the visual. This album is beautiful.

Mother Love Bone was a GREAT band! It is too bad Andrew Wood was not around long enough to enjoy their success. Heroin SUCKS! RIP my love!

men of golden words. thier genius is missed

how are they geniuses? They're just people who wrote songs. The songs aren't genius in any way. Genius is queen, because it's so well written.
Bassbait 2 years ago
yes i suppose you're correct. they merely wrote songs. as opposed to freddie mercury using his omnipotent golden phallus to manifest chants for high school football teams and thinly veiled porno scripts for his boyfriend. of course some people like opera themes which record execs blatantly shove down your throat while telling you it's rock music.

Queen is queer homo.

Homophobe? only the singer was gay.
Bassbait 2 years ago
What MEN's band goes with name Queen? I rest my case.
cebruzou 2 years ago 4
A great band. What men's band goes with the name Job for a cowboy is the real question.
Bassbait 2 years ago 2
Alright, Queen of queers.
cebruzou 2 years ago
haha....bro, how bout ALICE IN CHAINS? and non of them are gay! haha........peace!
zazin76 2 years ago
No, I Iike Alice in Chains whats wrong with them?
cebruzou 2 years ago
ooops! i think u meant that the band with a symbolic of a lady (queens) means gay, so i revert it and refer to alice in chains that they are not gay even though ALICE is in their band name. haha.....my bad!
zazin76 2 years ago
You sound ridiculous. The 'homo' you speak of had millions of straight people buying his albums around the world. He changed the entire music scene and accomplished more than you EVER will.
Let's see your dumb ass prance around stage in spandex and see if anybody even wants to LOOK at you let alone buy your music and love you for it. Think about that.
naivete2006 2 years ago
Mmk.. Well, I happen to be a guitarist in a band that's going great right now. So don't tell me I can't be successful in life because i'm making fun of the world's gayest singer.
cebruzou 2 years ago
Yeah, he was gay, man. Get over it. So is Rob Halford! Because of him the entire rock/metal scene to this day dresses like a bunch of gay club men into bondage. Didn't happen to catch that, did you?
If a gay "homo" could make the entire world love him and you can't even get a record deal what does that make you? Worthless? Useless? Pathetic? Jealous? Take your pick stud! LOL
naivete2006 2 years ago
Yeah..
cebruzou 2 years ago
Do I really need to sit and list all of the bands that got record deals as teens? I'll spare you the embarrassment.
You wouldn't happen to know that Andrew Wood's favorite band was Queen, would you?
Considering he was Cornell's best friend, roommate, and THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS ALBUM I thought you might want to be freed of your ignorance.
Who am I? I'm no more relevant than you, but calling you nothing is far more justified than you insulting Freddie Mercury, chief.
naivete2006 2 years ago
Queen is gay.
cebruzou 2 years ago
It is? I think not. I would LOVE to know how it is any more justified to say i'm nothing than to call ANYONE gay. It isn't. That's exactly like saying it's more justified to call an African American a "nigger," than to call a Texan a "redneck." It's not. =/
cebruzou 2 years ago
It's simple. You are insulting a completely unique, innovative, and influential musician because of his sexual preference.
I'm insulting U, a nobody, who will never amount to anything because U choose to insult said person above.
By getting people 2 love his music and subsequently him he changes public perception. Enough people like him bring positive change in the world.
You don't like being judged, eh? You get what you give. You judged him so you were judged yourself. SIMPLE.
naivete2006 2 years ago
I would like to know also how I will amount to nothing because I've insulted a queer.
WATCH OUT EVERYONE!!! IF YOU MAKE FUN OF THE LEAD SINGER OF QUEEN, YOU AUTOMATICALLY BECOME NOTHING AS YOU GROW OLDER!!! :O
I don't mind being judged.. And I sure as hell wouldn't care if it was from some virgin obsessing over Queen on YouTube..
cebruzou 2 years ago
Obsession? You're the one who feels the need to mention Freddie Mercury's sexual preference repeatedly on a youtube video comment board. LOL One can't help but wonder why where Freddie stuck his cock is of such interest to you. Well?
You're a cliche, kid. Experience allows me to see RIGHT through you.
naivete2006 2 years ago
You're the one trying to defend his gayness. Go take your lover boy Freddie Mercury, and have Arabian raging butt sex with him in your trailer.
cebruzou 2 years ago
My point exactly: You're STILL talking about Freddie's cock even after he's dead! Come to grips with your homosexuality, kid. Life will be a lot easier for you.
naivete2006 2 years ago 2
When did I say one word about Freddie Mercury's cock? You're a fucking retard.
Just because I mock his sexual preferences, doesn't mean I would like to have a conversation regarding his penis.
Where is your logic?
cebruzou 2 years ago
You said and I quote, "Go take your lover boy Freddie Mercury, and have Arabian raging butt sex with him in your trailer."
In order for "butt sex" (It's called anal sex you ignorant idiot) to occur there has to be a penis and asshole involved.
So, no matter which way you spin it you were talking about one of our cocks and one of our assholes. Whose cock and asshole were you mentioning in the quote above genius? LOL
naivete2006 2 years ago
So because I told you to have Arabian raging butt-sex with him in your trailer, that means i'm automatically drooling over one of your cocks?
And it sounds better as "butt sex" you stupid asshole.
cebruzou 2 years ago
shut the hell up about his sexual orientation. hes one of the greatest singers ever and so is cornell. does sexuality really matter. NO! even if you do play the guitar he probably has more talent in his fingertip than you have in your whole body.
Dagaman64 2 years ago
I don't doubt it. I don't know how the hell I got into this whole debate about his sexual preferences. I respect, and enjoy him and his music. I think he is a legend. I really don't know how I got into this 'gay-hating' thing with someone else.

ignorant idiot- good one ~sarcasm~ and i call it buttsex, its a synonym. and queen is gay. mercury is the most flaming homosexual i have seen since elton john. he has good vocal range, but not someone i would call one of my idols.
rscricca 2 years ago
Grow up moron. No one is interested in your typical gay bashing, hateful words.
Does make me wonder what you'll do as a dad when you find out your son or daughter is gay. Disown them maybe? How about your friend(s)? Maybe a cousin, or an uncle? Because they are all there, whether your know it or not. I am quite sure you've showered right next to gays in school, you idiot. Get over it.
Besides, what does any of this have to do with this great tribute song/band?
moosic4life 2 years ago 2
I'm not sure. Why don't you ask the person who BROUGHT IT UP?
And by the way, I have absolutely no problem with homosexuals. I was lead to that point and just went along with it. I happen to think Freddie Mercury is a phenomenal vocalist.
