@3DBlockBuster only one navy pilot has seen it. he would tell you about it but then he would have to kill you. i wonder if he told kelly mcgullis about it.
Is that a scratch-built model? Some parts look like it. Very nice work. The MiG-7 was an experimental upgrade to the MiG-1/3 family, and was never used operationally. And you really should include the MiG-23 Flogger in the line-up. The 27 is just a ground-attack Flogger, and the MiG-23 was the most widely built and used of the bunch. Funny to see a MiG-9; odd-looking plane. And just imagine what those nose-mounted cannon do to the engine when they fire! Jet + gun gasses = compressor stall x 10!
Yup, the MiG-23, the classic-est Mig ever, besides the Fishbed. It was a swing-wing, Mach 2+ interceptor/fighter, and ridiculously cheap to build, so they made 1000's. The MiG-27 was just an attack version; they ditched the Mach 2 intakes and search radar and gave it a lighter jet pipe, plus a lower nose for better visibility and some IR sensors, and called it MiG-27. So I guess you DID have them both (sorta)! For the casual viewer, they'd be hard to tell apart without seeing them side-by-side.
Brilliant model.. I have a soft spot for the MiG's, even if I prefer the earlier varieties, up to and including the MiG 21... very nice indeed, good job well done.. :)
You missed mig ( 23,30,31,35,37,39)
