@el07694 It is not anything like setInterval or setTimeout, the hidden iframe continuously receives data and javascript is processing that data. The connection to the socket server is not closed. It stays open so new data can be received a soon as it becomes available.

sure i share ur idea but this is a simple chat without a lot of complication , i know a improved chat should use AJAX with setInterval(ajax_update(),time­­) thats why i mention it in the tutorial , but if i use that i should explain what ajax is and in the time i created this tutorial i didnt teach what ajax is , nowadays i explain ajax what is so users can improve this simple chat

@djcharliexxx It's true i build this in a day. But the technique behind this chat is not know to the wide public and is to hard for some to use. But this is real-time chat, not a interval chat. I could build more functionality in this chat of course. But that was not the purpose of this little demonstration video.
