@thetechman123 There are instructions for exactly what to edit at xda-developers. I suggest you take a look there and read the instructions, as it's far too complicated for me to put into a message. I may make a video about it soon.
@ehunyadi thx for the help i looked through xda and i couldnt find it n i went through all of the general, accessories, apps and themes, and android development
@thetechman123 Check out the Viewsonic G-Tablet section. There are four sub-sections in there. The one to look at is the G-Tablet Android Development forum.
I purchased the Galaxy Tab last night. This one is here to stay! It's one thing to toy with it at the store, but different to load all of your own apps and customize, etc. The only thing I have done to it is load Spare Parts in order to bring all other apps up to the Tab's screen size. The 7" form factor is awesome too. It makes for easy dual-thumb typing. My Nexus One suddenly seems soooooo tiny! LOL
Sweet. I'm still working on it but I expect it to be done within a couple hours. Should have major speed increase, may fix camera for nvid update, and will have some better functioning apps. Plus the usual hero getdown
@ehunyadi Hey man I have heard that you own an evo. this is hero over from xda and baked snack. Im working on a ROM for the g tablet and was wondering if you could test since i wont be getting mine until xmas
I bought a Viewsonic G Tablet last night and returned it today. I didn't mod anything although I did read through the XDA forum and other sites about modding. I was not expecting it to be such a piece of crap right out of the box, and I guess was troubled with having paid $412 and having to fix it myself. I will likely end up dropping top dollar for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Another thing, the Galaxy Tab felt better and easier to handle than the 10" Viewsonic.
@ChicagoBears1 I don't blame you for returning it; the G-Tab is really better suited for those who like to tinker with gadgets and don't mind flashing new firmwares rather than for the masses at this time. The Galaxy Tab is pretty decent, but for my own taste, having owned a 7" Android tablet, I prefer the larger size. The beauty is that we can all have our FroYo and eat it, too. :) Good luck with the Galaxy Tab!
@ehunyadi Quick reply! I was checking out some of your other videos when the reply came through. I don't mind getting my hands dirty with flashing new firmwares, etc. Glad to say I have not made any paper weights yet! For some reason I was just turned off by the Veiwsonic out of the box. I don't cook ROMs or anything, but I have a Nexus One right now and it is the only phone I have not flashed in a couple of years. Clean Android is SWEET!!!!! Gingerbread should be OTA'd very shortly!
@ChicagoBears1 I was a bit disappointed with it out of the box as well, but with people like Roebeet and others making so much headway toward making a truly usable device, I stuck with it and I am glad I did. I use mine daily and at work, and my wife loves hers as well. I have friends who are also getting G-Tablets and asking me to upgrade the firmware on their devices. I think if Viewsonic were to use an image like Roebeet's TnT Lite 2.00 out of the box, this tablet would be a total winner.
Thanks for sharing. I am soooo close to buying one. I want to wait and see what the updated stock ROM cleans up, but it's good to know I have a slick option in Zpad.
Thanks for making the video. I am hopefully buying one this week and looking forward to the possibilities. Which ROM would you recommend though? I've seen at the XDA forums they have the Cyanogenmod, the ZPad, and the TnT Lite. I think you had barely mentioned the TnT Lite but I did not see a video of it.
@DJMannas I just made a TnT Lite 2.0 video that is available here on Youtube. I really like it, and it looks like the best ROM for the G-Tabs right now. I haven't seen anything out of Rothnic or the guy who was doing CyanogenMod in a while. I hope they haven't gone away.
