  • it so simple in asia More people in asia has high voice

  • His name is Chang Yu-Sheng (张雨生). Amazing singer - look him up on YouTube.

  • Обыкновенный фальцет, я так же могу, при том что у меня бас.

  • God, I wish they'd stop clapping.

  • I love this, I just wish I could tell what they are saying!

  • This song just ruined my day.... -.-

  • this is nothing look up Anthony Green - Miracle Sun and A Skylit Drive-Those Cannons Could Sink A Ship (Acoustic) Yeah goodluck Taiwanese man your voice sucks

  • @rangu66 also Bon Iver - Flume studio version.

  • @rangu66 Jagmin and Green doesn't even come close to Chang's power and luminosity in tone, mind you.

  • jajajajaja no entiendo ni vergas

  • He just has a really well trained falsetto stupid

  • @KingBajeebes To D5 is chest voice, from then on it's mix. There ain't no falsetto except by the man on the left on the G5. You obviously don't know your stuff and I obviously lost all repect for your opinions when you made that comment.

  • @YuShengRocks you have an excellent ear... took me a while. But you know, on the modulation where CHI was an E5, he went into chest when he was approaching the last note, the E5, but he crossed into mixed on CHI stopping at D5 again in chest before mixed. But the guy to the right of the screen sang in mixed/head, still struggling, like throughout and yet he got an applause everytime lol. And D5 sustained and effortless in chest voice is crazy...

  • @MrDinhoDC Chang is singing in mix you dumb cunt. Way to put down a great singer when you don't know your shit.

  • It's all head voice you idiots.

  • holy shit that is an A5

  • I thought it was a girl at first....

  • Wow Without Falsetto or Mixed Voice wow amazing!!!! I love that A5 I wish I could do that!!

  • @ivennein HOW OLD IS THIS GUY?

  • @ppa1983 IN THIS VIDEO ABOUT 29 YEARS OLD

  • name of the song?

  • (music starts and they start laughing) MR: (sings the low version) ML: left chang yusheng, the 2 of us cannot sing already (yusheng sings, then some commotion about how high is the note) MR: how about today we challenge till your voice cracks Yusheng: ok MR: give me a G, see falsetto comes out (ML sings followed by yusheng) Yusheng: even my brain is blood congested! MR: this is the highest, can we go any higher? G5# ok? how about A5 straight? (yusheng sings) Yusheng: this is already mixed voice
  • (singing competition continues) (2nd try, MR sings 1st verse, ML tried to sing 2nd verse but fails) MR: his voice is more deep and low (starts to sing the 2 verses by himself) ML: yes you can fight, today both of you go all out (yusheng sings) ML: (to the band behind) one note higher. MR: (sings) oh cmi, blood congestion in the brain already ML: i tell you this time it's really high. your turn (yusheng sings) MR: he can still sing even higher! ML: (to band) one note higher
  • Yusheng: like the song I just sang...

MR: and we must sing together with him. if we don't sing, cannot show how high he can sing. start from the same note/pitch.

Yusheng: ok, start from the 2 of you. most likely you can both sing even high than this pitch

(MR&ML singing, MR stops at the high part)

ML: (rushes forward) why did you leave the highest part to me??! let me make a fool of myself? (laughs)

MR: nono, you first, if you cannot I can take over

ML: if not I sing front, you sing back

  • ML: normally, take for instance Taiwan, male high notes, say like Fei Yu Qing (another singer who is known for his clear and high voice),his resonance point would be around his nose.Yours would be above in you head.

Yusheng:because they emphasize more on the gracefulness of the voice.

MR: yes yes right. but just speaking in words the audience might not be that clear about it. Let's demostrate.

ML: take one song, (sings a verse of the song Yusheng sang earlier) and keep going higher.

  • MR and ML: Yusheng! Applause pls!

    (Yusheng singing)

ML: wow really sang very well.

MR: actually he didn't seem to use alot of effort to sing, but he can reach the very high notes easily.

Yusheng: well the resonance(not sure about the term used in english) part I used is different.

MR: your resonance is at your forehead right.

    Yusheng: (laughing) ...

MR: resonance at the nose is already very high, any higher must be the forehead.

  • Man on right (MR): In our country, it's considered one of the the highest voice, and most importantly, he has outstanding temperament. In the entertainment industry, his behavior and ways could be considered first-class.

Man on left (ML): And recently, it's even better. Heard that he's joining the Celebrity Golf Team (chuckles amusingly).

MR: Because he's good at sport, so get him to join to encourage the team.

ML:Mainly, because he didn't submit the $20k club fee (hence they brought this up)

  • si se vistiera de otra forma seria mas lindo jaja pero la voz es increible

  • From 4:46 the real deal is on ahaha, such high voice!

  • Not true registered soprano, try falsetto

Best Male Falsetto, Russel Mael of Sparks

    watch?v=QAzESJ62irI&feature=related

  • he looks like a girl :D

  • So...Many...Sour...Notes...

  • I Can get to B5 in a mixed voice but only an G4 in chest voice. G#4 Sometimes. and very rare an A4. the guy with long hair in this video hits a BEAUTIFUL G5! i think i like it even better than the A5!

  • wow!! very amazing...

  • reminds me of Kurt Hummel :D

  • Great voice! For me he uses stop closure damping tecnique to hit high notes

  • awww

  • hahaha LOL

    that's mixed voice ^_^

  • someone should english sub this.

  • my God...lol thats high

  • Does....does anyone the name of this song they're sing?

  • Falsetto at 5: 46, mix chest at 6: 04

  • Comment removed

  • @Robbledinooo

He gets up to A5 here without any falsetto. That is REALLY fucking high.

  • Comment removed

  • @Robbledinooo Very few male singers can hit a full-voiced A5. It's certainly not a typical note at all. I'm not familiar with choral music, but surely if anyone is reaching an A5 there, it's falsetto. I find it more likely that you mean A4, though.

  • Comment removed

  • @Danerage ahahah sorry, i didnt actually listen to the endd? and yeah thats fucking high.

  • OMFB that was TOTTALY awesome!!! If he was an american singer everybody would know him. Wow

  • listening to his speaking voice he's using falsetto mix like adam lambert

  • impossibru

  • obviously from 6:28 he already admitted its not actually real voice, more head voice involved there.

  • @iamjames22 i dont see or hear anything that relates to him singing in his fasletto

  • @ShowmetheBlues Did i say falsetto????

  • @iamjames22 you said not his real voice

not a real voice = false voice

    false voice = fasletto

    so voila

  • @ShowmetheBlues that was his real voice even on that highest note, for the guy in the middle who kept going higher. It wasn't, in his case, falsetto head voice, strong head voice! Very rare range for guy but that is FACT!

  • he is not a child! when he sings this song almost 29 years old!!

  • Chat is the content of their left and right middle of the two presenters who want to test the true voice singer Then the two hosts also join him rise in falsetto voice, but out of the last test, but he really sounds a5 is considered half a false sound pretty incredible things he was very talented singer, but unfortunately out of a decade ago Died in a car accident but he is still in place in the hearts of Asians Chang Yu-sheng

  • can somebody create subtitles for this video please??? i really would like to know what they are talking about!! I know its like a vocal range competition but i really would like to know about their jokes and comments. thanks!

  • Someone in this video is going to hell for being homosexual

  • definatly mixed at the end

  • why at the end the 3 are singing, are the other 2 singers too?

  • HOLY ASIAN SHIT

  • @OUtsidethenine4eva lmffffffaaaaaaaaao

  • @OUtsidethenine4eva Shit !!?!

  • i must have watched this video half a dozen times and i've just noticed that the singer died in 1997!!! WHAT A LOSS!!! i love the fun they're all having and i LOVE his voice... i'm genuinely saddened by his death...

  • Omg the first time i heard this song i totally feel in love with it:D, I swear i spent like 6 months looking for it:P

  • @Astronomical117 His name is Chang Yu Sheng ,you can use his chinese name 張雨生 to find his videos

  • thanx

  • listen andrè matos pls, he can sing better than him^^

  • @destroyer29 i know andre matos. for me, Andre's tone is different (very different) between lower and higher register and lack of power, too. (he's using falsetto or mixed voice much more than Zhang).

  • OMFG!!!! RIP

  • What's the name of the guy?

    Are there anymore YouTube videos?

  • @JaimeEnriqueV His name was Chang Yu-sheng. He died on Nov 12 1997 from a car crash.

  • He died?

    Sssssssssssssssshit!

  • He died in a car crash..

    that sucks..

  • Honestly, he reminds me of Steve Perry...

  • it's all about give and take.

it's easy for him to sing high,

    but hard to sing low.

it's a pity that people nowadays don't appreciate the bass singers as much as

the baritone, tenor or even male soprano.

just give a listen to JD Sumner, he's amazing too.

anyway, 張雨生 is a legend, definitely.

  • @youbadcrazyman

I'm surprised you'd bring JD up, since he's hardly the most pleasant bass singer to listen to?

Also basses seem to be more popular than baritones if you ask me.

  • @Jouwl i don't know the situation in america or europe but in Asia, i mean the pop culture, baritone is definitely more popular. (because most men are baritone? maybe.......)

well, i didn't know much about other bass singers.

i did listen to some George Younce other than JD.

do you have any good suggestions?

actually i'm quite intrigued by the extra low voice lol

  • @youbadcrazyman

Most men are baritone indeed, about 62 % percent or so, which is why my impression was that baritones are least liked since they are so... well, average :)

Good bass singers is a tough one since the really low ones that actually sing solos and stuff in songs are 99 % southern gospel, meaning religious chatter. If you're lucky however you can find some songs that are melodically ok. Anyway, bass singer tips from me would be Jeff Chapman, Gerald Williams, Aaron McCune and PDK.

  • @Jouwl You say baritones are average? Show me an average baritone who sing the roles of Rigoletto, Scarpia or any of the great Verdi or Mozart baritone roles. The baritone voice in opera has the widest repertoire of all male voices because virtually every single opera has a leading baritone role. The difference is being exposed to GOOD baritones as to being exposed to average baritones. I can assure you, in the opera world good baritones are highly prized and not less "least liked". Research it

  • @Chanteuredelopera

The word average was supposed to mean that most males are baritones, not that vocally trained baritones were less skilled or talented than tenors or basses. I don't know about the opera scene, but in pop you must agree that baritones and basses are less prized by people who regard themselves capable of knowing if a singer is worth spending money on.

  • @youbadcrazyman since when was baritone popular in china again? the boy band pop era has not ended my friend

  • @LiangRome oh, sorry it's my fault to mislead you. i didn't mean those who sing opera or classical or something like that. i just mean the vocal range. yes, the boy band pop era has not ended and i mean those guys are most probably of baritone vocal range.

  • tsay tsang hidwan chi sha hang chiii hehehehe...hehehe

I love his song so much~

  • Requiescat in pace 張雨生.

  • 5;19 sound great

  • The really high stuff here is great too but that high E around 5:14 is my fav

  • Justin Bieber has a higher voice.

  • @cjgone2 Justin Bieber's just a kid!!!! wait until he becomes a real man!!!! he won't hit them high notes as he used to!!!!

  • @futurstarsinger justins highest note is e5. please plenty of BASSES could hit tht.

  • @thegodofpop1 I KNOW RIGHT!!!!!

  • @cjgone2 but he's voice is gonna change when he turn 20

  • @cjgone2 because he is still a child!

  • If one of those guys is a treble, the contest is unfair--many trebles can nail F6 in modal voice without breaking a sweat, whereas almost no grown man can.

  • TE CAGAS !!!!!!!!!

  • These guys are just using a very high mix voice of mostly head voice

  • @Musicman180 yeah you're right, but it's still a pretty impressive mix

  • Comment removed

  • @restlesspride666 wait...chesty headvoice? is there such a thing? lol :)

  • Not beingf flippant, butI seriously thought they said "cheezy peas!" at 0:05 oh why do I watch this stuff whenI can't sleep??

  • actually all of them were pretty good but the young guy owned the other two lol

  • dont forget this local Taiwanese kid was also that "made" Amei! He wrote....! Amei's best hits were written by him....

  • What is the meaning of the title? i know YUE is "month" right? what about qin? im from the philippines and i have a chinese blood. I forgot chinese words already hehehehe =)

  • yue also means "the moon".

  • oh yeah... moon it is. i remembered that also. =)

  • It's vocal training guys (done by a vocal coach, not a normal singing teacher).

  • Wow, this man is absolutely incredible! If he were still alive (so unfortunate) he would kick everyones ass in American Idol and sing better than at least 90% of the singers out there, guaran-fucking-teed!

  • @mrlemonbreath

Well... certainly his range is impressive and his voice incredible but I definitely heard some slight dissonance on a few notes he hit. While I detest American Idol and everything it represents, some REALLY good, accurate singers with pretty amazing control have been on that show.

  • @mrlemonbreath what happened?

  • @mrlemonbreath Whoa how'd he die cause thats really depressin

  • Dude can hit some fuckin' notes!

  • wTF LOLz! xD

  • 张雨生 was god in male singing in the 80s R.I.P

  • Whats the name of the song lol?

  • 月琴 (yuèqín). It is a traditional Taiwanese folksong. The song often encorporates the instrument, hence the name to match; yueqin! ^_^

  • Obviously after de E is falsetto.. But sounds cool

  • Comment removed

  • OMFG, what happend to his balls!

  • this is cute....

  • Nice.

  • about the lyric, it's a song decribing Taiwaness' ancestors hardly living here in the early year. facing difficult environment, they sang folk songs to assuage each other. if anyone's interested in the meaning, i may try my best to translate it to english.

  • i'm a taiwaness, and surely i can understand what they are talking here. before the interviewers asked Cheng to challenge E6 (or E5?), he said "i'm afriad i can't make it". he then admitted he used "kind like a falsetto" in the end. though i don't know what he reffered to as this falsetto, obviously it's not his full voice anyway.

  • it so sad to say that that guy was dead already in an accident....
