But the guy to the right of the screen sang in mixed/head, still struggling, like throughout and yet he got an applause everytime lol. And D5 sustained and effortless in chest voice is crazy...

Most men are baritone indeed, about 62 % percent or so, which is why my impression was that baritones are least liked since they are so... well, average :)

Good bass singers is a tough one since the really low ones that actually sing solos and stuff in songs are 99 % southern gospel, meaning religious chatter. If you're lucky however you can find some songs that are melodically ok. Anyway, bass singer tips from me would be Jeff Chapman, Gerald Williams, Aaron McCune and PDK.

The baritone voice in opera has the widest repertoire of all male voices because virtually every single opera has a leading baritone role. The difference is being exposed to GOOD baritones as to being exposed to average baritones. I can assure you, in the opera world good baritones are highly prized and not less "least liked".
