@txfireman1325, on the siren all the way on the left there is a switch that says "O/R" on top and "SWEEP" on bottom. if you hit the swithch up, it is connected to your horn ring(if so, if you hit your horn while the siren is on wail, the siren will change to yelp. if it is on yelp, and you hit the horn ring the siren will change to hyperyelp, or whatever it is called. IF the switch is down, and you hit the horn ring, the siren will cycle thru functions.while on sweep mode when the switch is down

@txfireman1325 You should be able to put it into sweep mode with the switch and then turn the mode knob to either wail or yelp and during either tone you press the horn ring switch (if its setup through the vehicle correctly) and that will start the sweep pattern.

This is an outstanding siren and is one of the most effective audible warning devices currently available. This recording doesn't do it justice; the volume and "punch" aren't the same. You can make all the asinine "telephone" or "UFO" comments you want, in reality it sounds different and is extremely effective.

Ultra hi-lo is a combination phaser/hi-lo that gives the benefit of repetitive sound and pitch change, so it is highly effective in penetrating modern "sound-proof" vehicles.

It is very distinctive; sirens like that one need to pierce those "sound-proof" vehicles. People need to hear the world around them, and those kinds of vehicles just insulate them from it and increase risk. Outstanding siren, indeed.

Remember, that's 2005 ;) THe looks of the Tomar are indeed not the most beatiful around, but the light output of those strobe Tomar Neobe's are in fact the brightest I've ever seen. A Tomar Neobe next to a Whelen Edge, the Neobe wins hands down. There's no dead moment on that bar, constant light. I haven't been to GBC since 2005, no idea what's on their cars now, probably LED ;)

The one at :20 is the blaster. Kind of the "get the fuck out of my way NOW" siren when you rip through traffic, and the :09 siren is a newer alert siren meant to be a noise you don't normally hear (unlike a common siren) so you take notice of it.

The only sirens I don't like are the Powercall sirens. They SUCK! The Hi-Lo is pretty annoying too but not too bad. All other sirens are pretty cool. My favorite has to be the Q.

If the objective is to move traffic, get other motorists to see you and be warned in advance, then THIS sound package is way better than the Dutch 2-tone which you only hear the moment the Ambulance is passing you on the left lane.

The Dutch actually use a 3 tone siren for there ambulances, and you can hear them from a pretty far distance.
