We have SW 2010 at my school and I can't seem to run the simulation with multiple parts. Is that because it isn't the professional or premium version?

@sethmckay1 Yea you need the simulation module to run a multibody model, as is your case.

@pristinepicture no way PC will always get the best tools and nobody uses mac at work they are unreliable underpowered when it comes to performance

i'm a user of both catia and solidworks, and when it comes to surfacing catia is the best but solidworks is more user friendly..
