undriveable? hahahaha watch some of the motorcycle racing that goes on in the pouring rain. one race in particular (at the nurburgring) was absolutely phenomenal and it was worse conditions than this! don't think it was motogp.. could have been SBK or something. but either way, I don't speak german (or is it dutch?) but I think I could understand that this was a tire compound issue? I swear those cars have no grip if you have the wrong tire.

@014RED They lifted Hamilton back onto the track because he kept his engine running instead of stalling it, starting an F1 engine isn't as simple as turning the key. It's a very difficult process which can't be done by the driver on the track, so if the engine stalls it's race over. Hamilton was able to keep his running though, so could carry on.

@rvfharrier No its not just because the motor was running still. You can keep the engine running and not get lifted back on the circuit which is supposed to happen if you cant continue by yourself. Lewis was lifted back because the f.i.a said he was in a dangerous position and he did have the engine running still because he was in the battle for the title. everyone else just shut off and retired.

@rvfharrier Well, it isn't that difficult. However, to save weight, a F1 motor doesn't have a startermotor. Instead, they stick a wheel gun in the car's ass which spins the engine and lets it start ;)

It was legal. You have 6 cars there and more sliding off. It takes a lot of time to get them out and if they can get at least one car out because the car is still running, then it is allowed. Same thing happened with Schumacher in 2001.

You are allowed outside assistance, if it's deemed to remove you from an unsafe place. If it was to get him going again it would be illegal, but given he was put safely back on the track to get him out of harms way, AND he was clever enough to keep the engine running, it's legal.

Deze race staat me nog helder voor de geest.

De rode vlag, was in tegenstelling met wat anderen zeggen, geheel terecht. De full wets kunnen 40 liter water per seconde afvoeren, maar op het moment van de red flag, regende het zo hard, dat de banden de hoeveelheid water niet konden verwerken.

Een goede commentator, maar helaas ietwat slordig af en toe. Hij merkt te laat dingen op, of verwisselt de namen. Ook is hij geen kei in het afronden van getallen..

Iedereen monteert inters en denkt er zelf niet aan om binnen te komen voor full wets.

Die rode vlag was gewoon onterrecht, de teams moeten maar full wets monteren, Winkelhock moet toch niet opdraaien omdat geen enkele coureur full wets wil monteren.

En daarachter zouden ze nog durven zeggen dat F1 niet spannend genoeg is, eikels die gewoon de race stilleggen op een cruciale fase.
