  • Can hear the BB King influence. Love it.

  • @BryceGuitarGlen Thanks a lot :-)

  • 100% Like!!

  • hey bro.. im kinda lost between this and an epi les paul standard plus top.. are the sheratons any good for higher gain led zep?

  • thinking of getting one... is it only good for blues?

  • im thinking of getting this guitar, should i or not??

  • @blueszep Ya, just found that out earlier today...But where can I find it because they went out of production. Thanks for your time.

  • Where did you get this with the red finish?

  • @TEHSACREDGS

Sorry... It's not red. It's Tobacco Sunburst

  • @TEHSACREDGS ot is th e90s Korean TObacco burst

  • Do you think the Sheraton is better suited for blues or jazz?

  • @MegaCalvinHobbes both, even Chuck Berry uses this style for R&R so it's versatile. Chuck uses a semi-hollow with humbuckers Gibson 335,345,355 etc. hope this helps

  • @JRussoBuffaloNY Yes, it does, thanks.

  • I just got a Sheraton II. It is a beautiful guitar that has a nice deep sound to it. Thanks for the video. It really influenced my decision.

  • @Keanu034 Great! Nice choice, this guitar is very special. Post some sounds of it! Cheers!

  • very BB King :) very good pal, you got a real soft blues tone there, nice! plus i well want one of those epi's! good job

  • @antchambo123 Thanks!!

  • im doing a bit of scouting for a semi hollow guitar. im considering either this or the yamaha SA503 TVL (dont judge by the brand). any comments. im not sure which to buy.

  • Tony Stewart??

  • nice playing, nice quitar

  • sorry... mistake: it sounds great

  • normally i'm listening to punkrock, hardcore and ska, but this soungs great

  • whoah marvelous :P hope i soon will be able to play like that! :D

  • What scale and key is this in?

  • Beautiful job, easy going but punchy. Sweet sound.

  • Nice playing, does sound great... what amp are you running through?

  • @MarshallJimi And the guy from Silversun Pickups.

  • Hey there BluesZep,

I recently bought a sheraton II and want to change the pickups eventually. Looking to get more of a bluesy sound. I was just wonderin what changing the pots on the guitar does??? I heard that the stock pots aren't that great because they get scratchy and tend to be a bit noisy. Is that all that changing the pots does, clean it up??? Thanks and great playing.

I've watched your videos before buyinh a sheraton and now I have one =) I love it too!!! Thanks!!!

    Rainy

  • very nice playing,,bluestudio67 is right about his comment,,larry carlton also said that being simple is great in blues,,nice playing man,,im also a blues fanatic,,man can i ask about the string action of this guitar?thanks man..

  • i realy want this guitar in that exact colour but i can only find the leftie in it , i can play left handed to but not well enough to do the guitar justice do you know where i can find one, great playing , thanks

    joe

  • This is sweet...please join my yoodoomusic social networking site for musicians

  • sounds fabulous my friend, are you improvising over the backing or is it from tablature?

    Dan.

  • Good work man,you could make any guitar sound good. Sorry I got rid of my Sheraton II

  • from wich year is this guitar?

  • Nice playing. Sweet guitar.

  • is there a big difference between a epiphone dot and a sheraton?

im curious please give me an answer :)

  • thanks for that, i have a mk11 deluxe in my collection and a peavey classic with rose tube valves, your demo has inspired me to get on it.

  • Damn...you're good dude. I think you just sold another Sheraton!

  • Nice style and good sound !! please tell me what do you think about my version.

    Regards

  • is the neck on these really thick like the newer dots,or like the gibson 60's slimmer necks? Cause I (stupidly) traded a 97 korean dot (awesome guitar,I miss it) for a POD mexican strat, and Ive been wanting a hollowbody ever since, but the new dots necks are way too thick for me.

  • @rockerdude29

This guitar has a very slim neck, thinner than my ES-335 (60`s neck). It`s very comfortable.

  • I want this axe sooooooo baaaaaaad :)

    Nice licks by the way.

  • <A lot of hope in that blues! thanks you for that playing! Nice guitar and amp sound also.

  • nice bb king licks, love it

  • Excellent Playing! Could listen to that over and over...

  • fleetwood mac.

you don't deserve to play this song if you can't just improvise.

  • Hi BluesZep. Very nice playing.

Where can I found the tablature of this song ?

    Thanks

  • @d13g03nc1nas

    Sorry, but I haven't tabs

  • @BluesZep what scale(s) are you playing

  • very smooth playin',I like it a lot!great guitar choice too!:D cheers

  • SWEET man, real sweet tone.

  • nice

  • wow...

    I don't play but that

Sounds wonderful..I could listen to that all day

    great job ,great tone)

  • Thanks a lot!

  • nice playing,is that a vintage sunburst?the color seems little bit darker-i like it!

  • Tobacco sunburst

  • Very nice laid back blues work. So nice to see after watching all of the shredders do their thing. You have a very good feel for the blues. Great job!

  • finally some "blues" that are actually blues. Thanks man, well done.

  • Amen to that!! This has a smokin groove.

  • what amp did you use?

I have a Sheraton 2 as well and I'm very interested in how did you get this particular sound.

    thanx a lot.

  • It's on description

  • @BluesZep what year is your sheraton

  • @benrox26 it's a 1994

  • @BluesZep cheers love the color and the tone you get from it

  • great playing where did that backing track

  • nice play'd and nice guitar :) i really love ES-335 from both Epi and gibson

    -frederik

  • I had a sheraton 20 years ago,it even had the gibson logo in motherof pearl underneath the epiphone logo,.....some bastard stole it.But I have to agree with you johnERock ,.....it was top heavy.I play a Gretsch now and a really versitile Yamaha!

  • Lovely improv. Nice and easy blues.

I bought my son a Sheraton with the natural finish sometime in the early 90's and chose it because of its sweet tone.

Must send him your video to watch

  • Thanks so much. I'm really glad you enjoyed.

Sheraton is a nice guitar, I love them. Natural is one of my favourite finishes!!!

  • I have saved this track as a favourite as you play so well

  • The timing of your phrasing is very, very impressive!!!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • sounds great..do you find the Sheraton to be top heavy? Does the headstock fall down if you let go of the neck?

    thanks.

  • I don't know if all of them are, but mine is a bit top heavy.

  • This Sheraton was partially made famous by the one of the kings of blues, John Lee Hooker -luv the vid and the playing. Rock on

  • Wow, that was so sweet! Let that be a lesson to all you young Blues Cats out there that stumble over this tasty bit of playing, The Blues is about FEELING, not speed playing. I wanted to ask you, what year is your Sheraton II? The reason I ask is because the Sunburst on your guitar is a lot darker than what they are putting on the guitars they are selling today. I'm thinking of getting the natural. Your guitar sounds a lot like BB's Lucille. Must be the 57 classics.

  • Thanks for the words, man!

This Sheraton is 1994. The color is "tobacco sunburst". Unfortunatelly it was discontinued, currently the sunburst is the "vintage sunburst", yellow/black.

  • @BluesZep I've got the exact same guitar. Mine's either a 94 or 95, can't remember. Nice playing.

  • See.... now here's a man who can play the blues. He hasn't fallen victim to the "watch me try to sound like Stevie Ray Vaughn" mentality. Tasty and sweet. I enjoyed this more than all the Look-At-Me stuff I see on Youtube.

    Thank You :)

  • Thank YOU for the kind words. I'm really glad you enjoyed.

  • yes he does and I WANT THIS GUITAR D:D:

  • I really want to get a Sheraton but I can't find it any where in the same finish you have. Did they discontinue it?

  • Thanks for the nice playing.

I bought my Sheraton II last weeek and love it so far.

What strings do you find work?

I have Dunlop 10s now, the guitar had 12's or higher last week and sounded very Jazz through a 57 Bassman

  • Great, dude!

Congrats for you new guitar. I'm sure you'll love it!

I use Ernie Ball 10-46, a good combination of comfort and tone.

  • Yeah, man. Sweet. The Peavey 30 sounds a lot like my Fender. 6L6's? Good American tone, in any case. :)

    Play on.... play on, BZ

  • Thanks!

C30 uses EL84, but have a really great american tone

  • Reaaally niceee~ 5/5 man!

  • esta guitarra tem os PU de origem?

  • What color is this guitar?

  • Tobacco sunburst

  • Really? It looks deep red...the burst looks really nice!

  • how much did it cost??? eyros if its easy for u .....pleeeeease

  • I've never heard of a Sheraton until now. It's a lovely guitar, especially in your hands. Nice playing :-)

  • Thanks!

Yes, it's a really great guitar. I like it too much.

Continua a tocar assim e a postar videos!

  • Obrigado!

  • Pure and clean, as usual ;)

  • Thank you so much!

  • Love the BLues !!!

    your playing is wonderfull !!!

  • how can i play like that i have a les paul cherry sunburst and it dont sound like a blues guitar

  • probably your amp then...I have a les paul studio with a crate palomino and its a perfect setup for blues/classic rock.

Look into a tube amp if you don't have one already. They're great for blues.

  • Olá!

    Captadores originais?

  • Uso pra tocar blues, rock clássico e "moderno".

  • pretty cool, i think i'm going to try to record some stuff with backing tracks myself, you got me motivated

  • Great! Send me the link when you record. Cheers!

  • Muito bom fera! Parabéns!!!

  • Fantastic version.

Hope your friend enjoys his Epi

  • I really love the colour tobacco on this Sheraton... it's a crying shame that Epiphone doesn't do those anymore...

  • Congratulations man! Great sound..very bluesy. Would you mind telling me what color is your guitar? I mean, the model. Because i´ve only found ebony, natural and sunburst, wich aren´t like yours. Thanks and once again, congratulations.

  • Hi, mine is tobacco sunburst, not available on new ones. Obrigado pelo comentário!

    P.S.: I sent you a message.

  • Good Peter Green feel you got going here.

  • Where did you get the backing track for this one?

  • That sounded good !

  • I love this guitar, gotta be one of my favourites,!!!

    -Mike-

  • Beautiful guitar - i have the same one :)

Looking at getting a Peavey Classic 30 too soon!

    Oh, nice playing too :D

  • dobrze/good/gut/bien

  • Man, awesome playing.. Im saving to get my Sheraton soon .. Keep picking

  • És um bluesman pá!parabéns!!

  • Obrigado!!

  • slick

  • Beautiful guitar and beautiful playing! You're one of the best Blueszep! I hope everything is going well for you. Keep up the great work! - Dave

  • Thanks so much, Dave!

I was with a hard work last weeks, but now I'm again available for my guitars :-D

I'll try to record a new video with my sheraton, now it has a pair of Classic '57! I'm pretty happy with the tone.

Thanks for wathing, you're always welcome!

  • BluesZep, I can't believe you took these pickups out of your Sheraton! The sound (and playing) is truly magical. I am afraid that Classic '57 pickups might not sound as good as these heard in this video. By the way, did you find out (once they were out) if they were just stock pickups?

By the way, I purchased Sheraton II two months ago, and mine is 14 years old, I guess stock pickups, and it sounds more like John Lee Hooker, where yours has BB King sound. I use Fender Blues Junior. Regards!

  • Hi, I've already changed the pickups. In my honest opinion, it's a new guitar. The sounds with C57 are more articulated, and open. The neck pickup was stock, but bridge one was an unidentified pickup. The previous owner told me was a 490T, but it hasn't the Gibson logo.

Congrats for your Sheraton, it's a very nice guitar (sound, feel and look). Mine is 14 years old too, and with these new pickups and new jumbo frets, I'm in love with her again.

BTW, I've bought a Blues Jr last week, geat amp!

  • Thank you so much for the answer! With this information, I can estimate how much Peavey Classic 30 contributes to the sound (Guitar -> Pickups -> Amp). But the main contribution is still in your fingers! Your playing is very mature, and extremely enjoyable.

  • very enjoyable. very, very enjoyable

  • Thanks!

  • you sound nice

  • Thanks!

  • hey man

love your playing-really sweet tone and clever phrasing!

but where did you get the backing track from?

a link would be be appreciated!!!!

  • Thanks for watching! I can send you the BT. Just let me know.

  • very nice...nice and smooth perfectly understated

  • Thanks!

  • You've got some of that Peter Green sound going on-sounds cool.

  • Might get me a Sheraton II after hearing that!

    Lovely!

  • sweet tone and tasty playing

  • Thank you!

  • More sweet blues sounds from that Sheraton! I could like to those tunes all day! Keep picking 'em bro.

  • Thanks for watching!!

    Parabéns man!!!

  • Valeu meu mestre!

  • very good!

  • Thanks!

  • Great stuff yet again...u never fail to disapoint:) Hey elias down below:) YOU deserve all 5 stars...cool stuff. Thanks for posting:)

  • Thanks Julie!

  • Where did you get the backing track?

  • Sorry, I can't remember where I got it. But I can send you by email. Just let me know!

  • wish I could play blues like you, keep the great work coming! 5*

  • Hey, you are a fantastic player! I'saw your videos, and enjoyed all of them. Zeppelin covers are my favourites!

  • I'm really digin' the peavy. I've always thought peavys to be durable and innexpensive. I've never known them for having good tone. You truely have some nice equipment. I know you get a whole lot of comments telling you how good you and your stuff is, but I enjoy some good blues after a rough day. So good work.

  • I really like Peavey Classic 30, I think it has a great tone, clean or overdriven. Good price, sure, but great tone!

    Thanks BritaniaRuleAgain, you're always welcome.
