You can get much more out of this conversation, by always charming Ravel. Tell her always how beautiful and pretty she is, other women mean nothing to you and so on. Later on I did not kiss Grace, but I kissed Annah (I think it increases her resistances.)
I love this game so much, I can't express it in words. Just play it.
A possible reason could have been that Ravel actually loved him so much that she accepted to make him Immortal - in order to be with *him* , forever, and ever ...
@xDepressed I like rpg's much more than fps...this just seems like it's mostly reading. I'm a big fan of Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Lionheart Legacy of the crusader...games such as that.
@JBernard79 It is mostly reading thats true but there is alot of action in there as well. A fair bit of the conversations you dont need to listen to, you can fight instead of talk. But compared to those games you listed then yeah. But the quests are far more involving and interesting than any in those games and the characters are so good that even if you dont like reading the game is never boring. Anyway seeing as you lke those games you really should try playing this.

Amazing. This is how PC storytelling is done. This forever set the bar for how smart, original games should be done. The bar has yet to be reached again.
Dragon Age has become one of my favorite games lately. The combat is most excellent and some of the characters there are memorable, but the story is very boring and cliched compared to the unique epicness that is Torment. Torment is just so different from every other rpg... there are no bow-wielding wood elves and drunken warrior dwarfs, no saving the world from the evil god/necromancer bullshit, no orc/undead invasion. For christ's sake, you have TATTOOS in this game instead of armor.
@dageezerboi nope u have the option to explain why you did that to Fall (funny to tell her it was becouse she transformed into her and you really wanted to kiss her) and Annah
Amongst countless novels, films, stories, plays and such, the story of Planescape Torment is still the one that effects me the most; for me, it is probably the best "fictive" story ever told (and for God's sake, a pretty long one!). Also the problem about such great stories is that it is too difficult for another one to surpass it...
I never understood that skull collector fella. Whos is he anyway? Some kind of demigod? To be able to "hurt" the nameless one in such manner... He's no regular mage.
Witty, obscure, and strange characters (that require some deciphering) are what games are missing today. Characters today have been designed by "left-brained" programmers and it shows in their utterly logical characters. We need more creativity in games today. Everyone seems to be following the same-old, run-down platforms when they design new games... More games that can transport you out of this realm and into another one! Well anyway, we can all learn from Nameless -- keep your mortality!
I spent many, many, many nights playing this game. In the dark. Shrouded in a blanket. Smoking a joint. Trying not to weep at the fucked up misfortune of the Nameless One.
The first time I beat the game; or rather, got to the end and knew the full story; I cried like a bitch.
Yeah.. this game is a little biased in the sense that to get the most out of it you would have to focus on wisdom, inteligence and charisma (in that order).
you get a bonus for saying belief...(wisdom i think?)but think about it...but believing things can be diffrent and inflencing reality that way is really the biggest theme of the game.
not true...dragon age is the proof...and you can tell they dont really care if its a commercial success or not...they have the cash, and they know fans like us exsist so...dragon age baby

0:55 Now THATS a dialogue "wheel". Imagine even having half of that in a modern RPG? Would be fucking epic, you could make endless characters.

Torment literally inverts RPG cliches (friendly undead beings and a brothel of intellectual lusts being two examples of many).

I wanted to try this game but it appears it's more dialog than gameplay...when I play a game I want action this seems like reading a book.

no...its belief

now, lets see bioware remake it...that would be the greatest thing ever

Bioware has stopped creating classic rpgs.....nowadays they are making action/rpg hybrids for mainstream gamers. Let Planescape alone....

I don't know Dragon Age kind of has that Baldur's Gate feel to but it is a little more action oriented but the story is top notch

Yes, they have. but they are still amazing adventure experiences.

@magmos I know, see my other comment. I was answering some guy here, I can't recall which comment it was about Bioware.
Szederp 1 year ago
@Szederp It's not a game, it's a novel. I personally enjoyed the story, but i never really saw it as a video game, rather an interactive novel.
