@SANDWORMGUMMIES true , but it does not reliably fragment all the time. it isnt always shot out of the Required 20 inch barrel ( 20 or 22 inch correct me if wrong ) thus when being shot out of a 16 inch barrel it shall not always fragment. the 5.45x39 in my opinion is perfect on the other hand. Always tumbles , yaws, fragments no matter what and has less recoil , and more ballistic strength. and better accuracy due to less recoil when on fully or semi automatic firing.its even cheaper so woohoo!

The 5.45x39 was called the "poison bullet" by the Afghans because the Russians would engage them with their AK-74s at ranges of 500 to 600 yards, by the sheer amount of accurate automatic fire and low recoil, the Afghans with their 7.62x39 Chi-Coms really had no chance at all. Often, the 5.45 could fragment in 90 degree angles, like if someone gets shot in the stomach, it ends up exiting out of his shoulder. O.o Pretty damn scary round!

@omglmao12345 Restrepo is extremely accurate as far as what war is like in afghanistan considering it's raw footage, and Gunner Palace - Iraq Conflict is fairly accurate to this day I'd say, except nowadays there isn't as much small arms fire or as many IED's - and nowadays there aren't as many convoys, however the times are changing here..Hope this answered your question.

A Ranger scroll (which no one in this video has) means assignment to the 75th Ranger Rgt, the special ops teams people know of.
16 men killed in one year in a Batallion does not sound that bad. Heck in Vietnam 16 men killed in a platoon over 1 month wasnt that bad. Not a zero casuality battlefield, but getting there.

In the war against Germany the casuality rate for the whole theater if you include wounded was over 300%, hardly any soldiers which were at the start of the campaign were there till the end of the war. Insurgents will never take over our country. But they will kill innocent people. They do it in their own country. @SANDWORMGUMMIES true , but it does not reliably fragment all the time. it isnt always shot out of the Required 20 inch barrel ( 20 or 22 inch correct me if wrong ) thus when being shot out of a 16 inch barrel it shall not always fragment. the 5.45x39 in my opinion is perfect on the other hand. Always tumbles , yaws, fragments no matter what and has less recoil , and more ballistic strength. and better accuracy due to less recoil when on fully or semi automatic firing.its even cheaper so woohoo!

The 5.45x39 was called the "poison bullet" by the Afghans because the Russians would engage them with their AK-74s at ranges of 500 to 600 yards, by the sheer amount of accurate automatic fire and low recoil, the Afghans with their 7.62x39 Chi-Coms really had no chance at all. Often, the 5.45 could fragment in 90 degree angles, like if someone gets shot in the stomach, it ends up exiting out of his shoulder. O.o Pretty damn scary round!

They are fighting for the other split side of a country, the people in it. I now refer to this country as the North American States as it isn't as it once was- The United States of America. I don't think it was supposed to be, it seemed like it got hyped up by hollywood as something it wasn't. But yeah, I was raising my eyebrow when a 3 man team is supposed to first clear an area, defuse bombs and keep the area controlled at the same time. IMO, the writer did it to first keep the cast simple and focus on the characters, and to add to the tension, instead of accuracy.

@omglmao12345 Restrepo is extremely accurate as far as what war is like in afghanistan considering it's raw footage, and Gunner Palace - Iraq Conflict is fairly accurate to this day I'd say, except nowadays there isn't as much small arms fire or as many IED's - and nowadays there aren't as many convoys, however the times are changing here..Hope this answered your question.

@jack101093 These are not rangers, these are regular light infantry of the 1st ID. A ranger tab is different than a ranger scroll (unit patch). The Ranger tab means graduation from Ranger school, a leadership course that is required for EVERY single Army Infantry officer and for all Army Rangers (the SOF unit) of the rank of SGT (team leader) and above. A Ranger scroll (which no one in this video has) means assignment to the 75th Ranger Rgt, the special ops teams people know of.

@supertacticalbacon Over one year its not that bad. And its not the armed forces that have a 50% casuality rate, just this battalion. In the war against Germany the casuality rate for the whole theater if you include wounded was over 300%, hardly any soldiers which were at the start of the campaign were there till the end of the war. They got wounded or killed and replaced by new bodies.

War must be waged with proportionality in mind. The suffering which existed pre-War should not be overshadowed by the suffering the War may cause. That's not something i came up with, it's one of the "principles" of just war. The purpose of
U.S military action in Afghanistan is no longer self-defense against an armed attack, it's geopolitics, that's why i don't consider it to be defensive.
